Birdies ❤️ them
I buy these for my parrots to play with. Paint is bird safe – talked extensively w/ company prior to first purchase to ensure safety. Birds love, love, love them. They use them as foot toys as well as chew toys – wood is perfect for chewing but doesn’t leave super sharp splinters that might cause injury. Added benefit is the blocks are not heavy – which is helpful when we play “catch” with them.

Good
I like these blocks. They are a good price, durable, and engaging for kids. I like that they have the numbers, letters, and different images on all of the sides. Multifunctional.

Just okay, but reasonably priced
They were smaller than we thought, a lot of the images are off center, and some blocks have rough sides and edges, so I worry about slivers a bit. However, they were much less expensive than other options, so I feel like we got a fair quality for the amount we paid.

Great toy, wasteful packaging
I’m sure my grand kids are going to love the blocks. They are the perfect size for small hands and there is a great variety of letters, numbers and pictures. My complaint is with the packaging. In order to make the product look good they resorted to wasteful filler which will now end up in a landfill. Also the bag would be very handy IF it were big enough to store all the blocks and still get it closed. They should add 3” to the bag and cut out the filler in the package. Then I would truly give them a 5 star review.

Great for toddlers
My toddler loves these blocks. It is great for toddlers to practice their fine motor skills. It came on time and with a white bag for storage. Four stars because this set I received, some of the blocks’ prints are faded or missing and ridges aren’t smooth, but it is not a big deal for me. The size of these blocks were able to fit into my toddlers’ mouth, so supervision is key.

A lot smaller than I thought
Good blocks. They were a lot smaller than I thought they would be but that’s on me for not checking sizes. Good sturdy blocks

Great learning toy
We’ve had these for about a year now and my daughter still likes to get them out and play towers. They’ve held up well through travelling, play dates, and the numerous “tumbles” the towers have taken. This also makes a great baby gift!

Good Product
I bought these when my son was 10 months old. He still loves to look at the images on the blocks. They are definitely a good developmental toy!The only thing is I wish they were bigger for stacking.

Nice Educational Product
I agree with a post I read by Flitsy. These blocks are perfect for aiding in determining both cognitive and motor functioning in young children. Despite the “paint chipping” and “bad quality” reviews, I still got these blocks because kids eat far worse things than a little non-toxic chipped paint. Those who complained the blocks were too small should probably read the product description before purchasing. I supervise my daughter at all times. Though I’m not constantly hovering over her, I do check in on her every 10-20 minutes to make sure she’s alright. She’s 9 months; she will occasionally put them in her mouth (not entirely – like the corner) but will mostly toss them one by one. These blocks are not a choking hazard, in my opinion.ALL of the letters are INCLUDED in color; The plain (inked) letters vary; The pictures are different and do not correspond with the letters per block; numbers go up to 9; and there are 4 extra blocks. What I do with my daughter is teach her 3 letters a week with the corresponding picture block. She focuses while I place them in front of her, but of course, her attention span at this time is short and she will taste it then continue to through them. I love this educational quality time. I know she will eventually understand.I have provided pictures of all sides of the letters “I”. The flip side of “I” is “V”. I personally think these blocks are a perfect size.

Good enough
The good: Perfect size for little hands. My 16 month old loves stacking and knocking down these blocks. Also, I like that it comes with a bag.The not so good: Quality of the wood could be better, there are some edges and sides that are a little rough. Also, the printing on some of the blocks is a little spotty.Overall a good enough set. I’d get it again, but would think twice about gifting if you’re picky on quality.

Not good quality
I wanted to love these, but half of them came splintered and rough. I tried to sand them down to make them safer but the wood just kept splintering. Melissa and Doug used to have really nice, quality toys, but now they’re just not. These are not safe for kids younger than 5 years old, if these blocks go into a child’s mouth it could be deadly.

A little confusing
These blocks are good quality and come with a nice canvas bag to keep them in. However, my toddler is confused by the picture/letter combinations. For example, her other blocks have the letter A and then pictures of apples, alligator, alien and other A pictures. These blocks have multiple letters per each block and pictures that do not start with those letters. So the blocks are fun to build with, but confusing while you’re teaching phonics.

you can buy better blocks from somewhere else.
These blocks are JUST OKAY. To be honest, if i can give a real rating, i’d give it a 2.5 stars.what i like about these blocks:1. colorful2. made of wood3. durable4. they’re a good decent size, not too big nor too small (although i wouldn’t mind if it was a tad bit bigger)5. comes with a bag where you can store the blocks6. these blocks come with letters, number, and math signs7. the letters, numbers are not stickers nor are they just drawn on, they are carved / etched. except for the animals, those are drawn onwhat i don’t like about these blocks:1. so many repeats of pictures! for example, there are 4 blocks with the same four side characters / letters ( i really don’t need the repeat)2. some of the painted colors either faded or came off when we got it (some of the animals were etched in brown color, and the color has faded)3. the way they design is bad (when the block has a letter A on one side and letter N on the opposite side, you would think the other two sides consists of animals that is related to A or N… NOPE! totally different animals that starts with different Letter!!!)if i can improve these blocks, i would have one block dedicated to one letter of the alphabet. for example, BLOCK 1 would have an upper and lower cases of A on opposite sides, then there will be two drawings of either animal or fruits that starts with letter A.i bought these blocks because it was on sale at the time (it was during black friday sale), if i could, i would not have bought them and rather spend my money on other better blocks.

Missing blocks.
This item was great for my almost 2 year old. However, it is missing 4 blocks. I have counted them multiple times and my child has not had them yet so I know none are lost in my home. There are 46 blocks instead of 50.

Poor quality
I bought these blocks as a 1st birthday gift for my son as he loves playing with my old ones at my grandma’s house. I was very disappointed when we dumped them out on the blanket for the first time and found many of them had paint chips, smeared pictures, and even some of the wood was chipped. All in all, still a good toy for my1 year old. He doesn’t care if they’re chipped. But I expect better quality from Melissa abs Doug toys!!

Nice just check size of blocks first just so you know
I got these blocks for my kids (toddler and preschoolers )and they really liked the blocks started spelling words out with the blocks and stacking the blocks as soon we received the package. I just think I should have checked the size of the blocks because they’re pretty small. When I opened the package I was so surprised and was like what?? These are the blocks??? I just wanted the blocks just a bit bigger at least doubled the size. Other than that my kids like the blocks. So I was like eh, as long as theyre happy and entertained, I’m happy and ok with it.

Unfinished design but serves it’s purpose otherwise
Smaller than expected and some of the letters are unfinished, like they took a break in the middle of it and didn’t remember to come back. Other than that not bad.

Good for toddlers , but bed quality
I like the idea of the blocks. Good for toddlers to learn letters and numbers. Some blocks are bad quality (stains, erased drawing, worn paint)

Not YOUR childhood block set
Although these are made of wood they are not your sturdy, weighted blocks from your childhood. Nostalgic by look but not feel. They serve the purpose and will do well for educational need but I don’t believe they will last as long as the older sets many like myself wished to have as part of our kids collection of toys.Price is fair and colors are bright, images are clear and precise. I am overall okay with the purchase but disappointed in the quality, much as with anything now days it seems.

It’s blocks
It’s blocks. Like from when you were a kid. Like the ones your grandma still had at the house played by with three generations. Except these are clean. Not flimsy or crumbly. Just blocks, that way a fantasy version of the 1950s intended.

Tiny blocks & tiny bag
The packaging is filled with Styrofoam (see pic). The bag is too small to fit all the little blocks (see pic). Disappointing! The bag doesn’t close because it doesn’t fit all the blocks, so the storage bag is useless! Melissa & Doug needs to step up their game & make this better qualiy!
