engaging learning tool
Woodtoe alphabetic magnetic maze board is nice. It is wooden with plexiglass across the top and has an attractive design- aesthetically pleasing for sure. There is a magnet inside the parking place for the magnetic pen so it stays put. Nice touch. The cards are mid weight cardstock that are glossy on the front. The cards slide into the back slot and are long enough so when you drop them in the back slot there is still a finger grip area to adjust it or get it back out. That’s handy. I did notice that the magnetic attraction between the pen and the letters is enough so a student can use proper pencil grip and come at them on an angle and still the letters will stick and follow. Teacher friendly there! Just so you know when a letter piece is in one of the candy spaces up top it is sitting directly on the card beneath. Be aware if a student wants to change out a card, they will need to tip the board up and knock all the pieces back down bottom. If they try to jam it in with the letter blocking they will damage the bottom edge of the card. Now there are a few things that could be better with this toy. Firstly, the letters themselves appear to not be of uniform thickness. K and V get pinched and stuck between the plexiglass and the board about halfway down the left side near the blue fastener every time. (refer to last picture) To get them out I have to shake all my matches out of their spots to knock those letters out of the stuck area. Also my letter Z has a backwards magnet inside. It pushes around with the wand instead of sticking and when it accidentally falls in a candy space I can’t get it out without erasing all my matching work and tipping the board up. Also a few of the pictures are not predictable for a child. The Christmas tree for X and the handshake for U stick out in my mind. There are three letter word candy spaces down bottom to build words with the flash cards. One of the cards is egg. That one in particular can’t be made with the letters available for sure. Also, there is a card supposed to be “ice” but instead of an ice cube like it had on the big alphabet card it has a fancy ice cream cone. Just difficult for a child to figure out. Also it would be wonderful if there was a spot to store the large cards and flash cards. With a few quality changes this item would be a beautiful high end gift or classroom learning tool.

Great learning addition for a single family household
Pros:The magnetic “wand” is attached well by the rope. I gave it a good tug and it stayed in place. There is an additional magnet where the wand pushes into the wood to keep it in place. The plastic “shield” does not scratch easily. There are multiple ways to use the board – alphabet matching, color matching, matching by the first letter of a picture, or the first letter of a word. You can also use the bottom half of the board to spell 3-letter words. The wood on the back is not finished, but it feels smooth enough that I am not worried about splinters.Cons:The flash cards and inserts are only about the thickness of cardstock. I do not believe they will hold up long in a multi-child/family setting such as what I requested it for. There is a clear plastic piece on the board between the letters K, L, R & S that goes from the board to the plastic “shield”. I believe it’s there to make sure to keep the space between the two so that the letters can move; however, on the product I received, the plastic is still too close to the board in this area, resulting in the letters getting stuck around this area of the board.

Great quality. Some interesting words
For starters, this is amazing quality. The construction is really great. There are multiple boards for play/practice. Most are pretty easy to follow, such as colors and alphabet. The pictures are pretty good for the most part, although some pictures I feel could’ve had easier words. For example, for the letter U there’s a handshake, which stands for “union”, or for the letter V there’s a volume picture, which stands for “voice”. I think these are not words that children would think of for those letters. Thankfully, one of the boards has all the words listed for each letter, so you can always reference back. But this could use some improvement. For the most part, this is a portable, travel-friendly toy. However, I do wish there was a better storage solution for the boards and cards. I did manage to fit all the boards into the slot, but they’re more likely to get ruined, so I wouldn’t rely on that.Overall, though, I feel that this is a great toy. While we’ve had similar magnetic toys, this one is a lot more educational, and even with the downsides, I feel that it’s still great.

Fun magnetic drag and drop tool
It feels pretty sturdy and has a little storage for the big cards, but not the small ones. It’s hard to balance the thickness of the plexiglass face. If it’s too thin, it’s weak, if it’s too thick, the magnet won’t work as well. This feels a little thin and the magnet leaves marks on the plastic, but it works well! This is a fun learning tool and will keep kids interested for a good lesson.

Good for Preschoolers and Up
The media could not be loaded.
This is a good magnetic alphabet maze board. It includes a wooden alphabet board, 4 activity cards, 13 sight word cards, and a magnetic pencil. The quality of the wooden board is good, it has smooth edges. The magnetic pencil works well. I liked that this set includes a removable activity card, which is easy to insert from the top of the board. I liked that the same board can be used for multiple activities, but activity card images do not properly align with the candies on the wooden board. I liked that the same board can be used to build the sight word, so it is good for children who started reading and building words. The sight word cards have a word on the front and a picture on the back which is good. This is a good activity for developing fine motor skills. Overall I liked it.

Great concept, critical flaw.
The basic idea for this learning tool is very good. The wood construction is pretty good quality. The colors are bright and attractive. The activity cards are good for learning letters, colors and words. The flash cards are good for learning simple words. There are a couple of problems. First, the round letter blocks are not of uniform thickness. This resulted in two blocks getting stuck in the top corner hole. I had to loosen the top block by inserting a butter knife underneath the clear plastic cover to free the stuck blocks. Second, there were two letter T blocks and no letter G block. This makes it impossible to make any word that includes the letter G.

Versatile Magnetic Activity Board
I love this magnetic activity board. I have several others and what I like best about this one is the fact that is has more than one activity so that is very useful and keeps the kids occupied for much longer. The cards that come with it and allow you to change activities are a heavy cardstock and slide easily into the back of the board to change out the tasks. The magnetic pen stores nicely in the board as well. I would recommend this to others for sure! This would be a great birthday and/or Christmas gift too!

Great Lrarning tool via Play
I love these magnetic manipulative toys in my classroom. They not only provide children with much needed play time, but also learning in the process. I have some math related similar games and this alphabet maze is a great addition to my collection. These games are very sturdy and last a long time. Apart from letter recognition, they build eye hand coordination as well as dexterity and fine motor skills. Highly recommended.

this was a disappointment
The acrylic top is too close to the base in some places and that makes the letters get stuck. I got this for TwoYearOld to help him learn the alphabet. The stuck letters make this too challenging for him. Also, this is about matching the letter on the disk with the letter in the space (that’s one of the cards that you can insert in the base) and the disk letters aren’t easily turned so that they are right side up. That makes matching the letters in the correct orientation impossible. The base is nicely sanded. I like that the base has a slot for the magnetic wand. I wish that this had been constructed with a little more attention to detail.
