A great chess & checkers set
My 7-year-old son recently got really into chess, so I ordered this set for him. It is VERY well made. A truly beautiful set. And I love that it doubles as a checkers board.

Excellent chess and checkers set
Excellent chess and checkers wood set starring the weighted chess pieces with low center of gravity.The pieces are very well made with no carve failures and stored inside the board in a well organized slots. The two extra queens is a must to have.The cardboard package box is really nice and helps to keep board safe from scratches when not in use.The only downside is having to remove all the pieces from the board storage to be able to play.

Excellent Board, Dirty Pieces
The board is very sturdy and attractive with magnetic closure. The pieces have some flaws, but are price-appropriate and nicely weighted, however almost all of them have black greasy residue on them so they all had to be cleaned (can’t be ignored). You don’t expect something brand new to be covered in mysterious black grease, and you certainly couldn’t gift that to someone. But for the price I am very satisfied.

Awesome Gift from my Father-in-law
The media could not be loaded.
 I did not personally purchase this gift myself but I got it as a gift from my father-in-law and love it so much that I felt like it deserved a review. So i searched on here and whaaalah…. found it….I will have to say that the design on the outer box was pretty cool that it wowed me first and then the quality of the actual board is very sleek and classy. The wood material is light weight but durable. The latches are of durable quality as well. Then once I opened it and seen the cushioned housing for the pieces, I thought it was very cool. Made me feel like a professional. Lol. (Which I am no where near)The strength of the magnetics are okay. They connect to the board pretty well. I do have 2 pawns who’s magnetic strength isn’t that strong but it’s not a big deal. You’re able to see everything in the video attached with this review. As for the pieces themselves, they’re also of light weight and nice wood staining. Non-sticky 🙂 finish. The board includes all chess and checker pieces along with 2 extra queens, instruction manual and manufactures post card.If you’re looking for a bang for your buck, light, sleek, classy and magnetic, this would be a great choice.

Great quality chess/checkers set
Great quality set with a few caveats.What you get:A self storing chess and checkers set. Chess set comes with an extra queen. Pieces are stored within the board.What I liked:- solid quality. Nicely weighted and feels solid and well made.- slightly larger pieces than I am used to for the size of the board.- looks elementary presented and would make a great gift.What I didn’t care for:- all pieces need to be removed when the board is opened. You can’t leave the checkers in while playing chess or visa versa. Makes for extra unnecessary clean up.- board edges were jagged on one side. Could easily cause a splinter.- pieces go in a specific order. If I hadn’t taken a picture beforehand it would have been annoying to put them away.All in all I am happy with the set. Highly recommend taking a photo of piece placement beforehand.
