Best gift
We got these for my daughter and it keeps her and my son so entertained! This is definitely a toy that will stay in her cubby for a long time. It’s open ended for different types of play. One of our favorite toys to gift as well

Smaller than expectations
I like the colors and the quality. But smaller than expectations. I suggest make it larger. Young kids love ti make a big castle instead of a small one.

A Childhood Staple
Colors are bright. Quality is good. Well sanded smooth pieces in intriguing basic shapes. Puts those nimble fingers and young minds to work. No noise. No flashing lights. No electronic voices or music. Excellent!

“Blocks!!”
Bought these for our grandkids’ 3rd birthday because they had been choosing to build with Jenga pieces. They have many Legos but when they opened the box, he said ”blocks!!”

Favorite
Bought several sets to add to other building manipulatives in the classrooms. Easier to move around than the unit size. Kids can be very creative

My niece loves blocks
This is a good basic set for my niece when she comes to visit. She usually uses my jinga game set. She was so excited to see it in her Easter basket.

Good Old School Fun!
Two year old grandson loves these blocks. These are very sturdy and nice bright colors to keep little ones interested. Sturdy enough to be used building towers and then being knocked down by toy trucks.

Great for Montessori play

Great blocks, but a few things I don’t like
I like to buy Melissa and Doug toys for my kids because they are good quality and I like the nostalgia of wooden toys. After a year of use, here are the issues I have with these blocks.1. Some of them arrived stuck together. I’m guessing the paint didn’t fully cure before packaging. There is minimal damage from that, but it’s something that shouldn’t happen.2. The blocks are too slippery. It’s very difficult for little ones to build towers without the blocks sliding all over. As an adult, I have to be very careful placing them on each other. You can’t bump your creation at all or it will move or fall apart.3. The blocks could be heavier. Sure, lighter means they hurt less when your kids throw them at each other or you, but for building, more heft is better. If they were heavier, the slipperiness wouldn’t matter as much. These have gotten good use, but I will pass them onto someone who needs them and find heftier blocks for what we’re looking for.

My four year old grandson loves them
I got these colorful blocks for my four-year-old grandson. I wouldn’t recommend three and under because some of the blocks are very small and could be choked on.

Hard for small children to build with.
We got these blocks for our 2 & 4 year old grandchildren & they were very pleased to open them. I found them to be a bit difficult for the children to build with as it doesn’t come with any diagrams on what to build but most importantly the blocks are coated in some type of paint or protection that makes the blocks almost slippery. I’m sure as the kids grow older they will be able to better handle them but for now they are too slippery for them to be able to successfully stack well. We were also disappointed that it didn’t come with any type of carrying case or holder for the blocks when not in use. We did get the blocks in a deal that also came with three puzzles and the children are very happy with the puzzles as well and I have zero concerns or complaints about those.

Great!
I have an autistic toddler and this helps with his attention and motor skills. I recommend this for any parent needing to increase fine motor skills for their child.

Great building blocks
Turn off the tv, move them away from the pad and give them a chance for their imagination to grow. My son loves these. He got a set when he was 3 yrs old and was constantly, nonstop building. He has been wanting more so he can build bigger garages for a his cars to park. So we got him another set so he can continue to build his houses, garages, tunnels, etc… if there was a larger pack it would be even better. Colors are bright, very sturdy and made with great material. Never any issues with sharp edges or uneven sides. My son is turning 5yrs old and uses these at least a couple times a week. Highly recommend these.

Good quality blocks
Bought 2 sets for my grandsons, after the holidays when they were half the price. Good quality bright, vibrant colors. Hours of playtime fun using imagination versus technology.A couple blocks were stuck together, but for the price not going to complain.

Good Quality, Pay Attention To Size
Good quality and nice variety of colors and shapes of blocks. The same quality and value that I would expect from Melissa & Doug. This is not a criticism, because I probably wasn’t paying attention. But pay attention to the size of the blocks. They are small and maybe not safe for under 3 years old.

Timeless Classic
These are a timeless classic. I had a set of these (or similar) when I was a kid (am 68 now!!!) and have given sets to my two granddaughters. I love that they play with them at a very young age to solve problems, create, and exercise imagination. Can’t go wrong.

Loads of fun
Nice bright colors, assortment of shapes.Really important to cultivate toddler imagination with good old simple wood blocks….these are exactly that. They help imagination, finger and hand control, when stacking, good chances to teach grouping…by color or size or shape….Simply perfect

My kids play with these everyday for at least 20 min
The title says it all. It’s so good because they get creative. They love simple building. My kids are 3 and 4 (almost 5).

Classic blocks
Love these classic blocks but quality control is lacking, some need to be sanded down, not too safe for tiny hands

Perfect gift for a 2 year old
Gave this as a Christmas gift for a 2 year old and he loves it. Every child needs blocks like these in their toy box!
Customer –
great wooden blocks, some just a little too small for littlest ones
Love Melissa and Doug products! Only drawback to this blocks set is that the smaller pieces are just the right size to get stuck in a young toddler’s mouth. We simply pulled the littlest blocks out to add back in later when baby is a bit older.

Lots of damaged pieces + exchange
*update — exchanged and the new set is perfect! Updated to 5 stars for quality and priceThere are about 20 pieces that have paint stripped off of them and several pieces that were glued together. I’m surprised that the quality is so low for a Melissa & Doug toy.

Great Blocks!
These are great building blocks for the littles! They are sturdy, wood, and can stand up to the kids! They are a little on the small side though they are still a great product!
Shouse –
Much smaller block than I thought
I understand that its a 100 block in a box, but I didn’t know that blocks would be so small. I bought for 2 year old. He has to work really hard to stack them because they are so small, but I guess he’s working on his fine motor skills more.

Blast from the past
Just like you remember, especially when siblings start launching them at each ither and lose all sight of building purposes. They even make that little hollow bonk sound. What started out as the cat getting a cool new place to nap under has turned into a colorful Lincoln log show down, just as it should…

Smaller than I’d hoped
It’s my fault I didn’t read more carefully because I thought these would be larger blocks. That said, my grandson enjoys them. They’re colorful and well-made. He uses them to create animals, like hippos and elephants, rather than the buildings I had in mind but whatever makes him happy is fine with me.
