A Few Hiccups, but Went Up in About an Hour
The product is good, but the instructions are odd. For example, it first tells you to assemble the horizontal supports on the vertical rod, and then *later* tells you to take the unassembled vertical rod and use it to mark the drilling holes. So if you follow what they say you build it, then have to strip it off and then build it again. But if you reverse the order, you will be fine. Also, the black plastic spacers a bit odd, but I got them to work. I used 3 inch decking screws to punch this into the studs, then loaded it up with wood. It seems solid as it is, but I may get another unit just to decrease the horizontal spacing between my supports, to hold smaller work pieces. Not five stars, as I have to see how long this lasts in my garage.

The real thing
These are great. I bought some knockoffs that looked the same and they were awful. Lesson learned, bought more from Bora.

Nice product.
The finish scratches easily and the instructions suck, but otherwise it is a nice product for the money when it’s on sale. I’m not sure if I’d be as satisfied with it if I paid full price.

Great customer service
I bought two bora racks, both came with ends broken open and missing hardware. I called Bora and they sent out missing hardware right way. I liked the racks so well, I bought 3 more! They arrived quickly, and the ends of the cartons had been reinforced with tape! They listened! All hardware arrived. I put these up using 3 inch spax lag screws and washers. I have them loaded with hardwood. They fit nicely alongside the garage doors, and are recommended to mount 4′ to 6′ apart from each other. The finish on the product seems durable and of quality, qc is up to high standards.

Awesome rack
I now own three of these and they are excellent at what they do: holding lumber. The last one to arrive came missing most of its parts but, fortunately, I was able to get it replaced immediately hassle-free.Tip: Take your time assembling it. It’s quite easy to put it together and realize you did so incorrectly.

Really helps keep my workspace organized
This rack is a fantastic product that has helped me to keep my workspace organized and clutter-free. I purchased this rack for my garage, where I store a lot of lumber and other building materials. The rack is incredibly sturdy and well-made, with a durable metal construction that can support a lot of weight. It has six levels, which provide ample space for storing long pieces of lumber, such as 2x4s and plywood sheets. One of the things I appreciate most about this rack is that it mounts to the wall, which saves a lot of floor space in my garage. It was easy to install, and the mounting hardware is included with the product.Since I’ve started using the Bora Wood Organizer and Lumber Storage Metal Rack, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in the organization of my workspace. It has made it much easier to find the materials I need for my projects, and it has freed up a lot of space in my garage.Overall, I would highly recommend the Bora Wood Organizer and Lumber Storage Metal Rack to anyone who needs a durable and reliable solution for organizing their lumber and building materials. It is well-made, easy to install, and has made a significant difference in the organization of my workspace.

Mixed results. Great when you get a defect-free set
I have bought this Bora set numerous times and have many of them in my garage. While they are fantastic if you get a defect free set, I have found that some of the sets I have purchased have brackets that are seemingly impossible to level. They simply will not sit right on the screw. I have tried shims and other approaches to try to correct, but often it seems like the best approach is to return the set to where you bought it and grab a different set. The majority of the time the replacement works. I would echo some of the other reviewers that indicate issues with screws, not threading correctly. That has happened to me in the past. I think Bora knows this as well because they ship extra screws in each set. I would still give them a a rating of three or four stars because they work very well when you get a good set. I have also modified some of my sets by adding an eye bolts to the end of the brackets and use steel rope threaded through them to ensure no wood falls on some of those shelves that have more janky pieces piled on them.

A misaligned bar
This is the second of these Bora wood/lumber storage racks that I have purchased. They are quite sturdy and hold a good amount of wood without bending or flexing. The installation is straightforward once you figure out the proper order of attaching everything to the wall and the vertical support bar. I bought and used longer stainless steel screws (actually 3″ metal screws, I believe) as I wanted a very sturdy install into to 2″ x 4″s. This second rack did have a manufacturing quality issue. The hole in 1 of the 12 horizontal shelf bars was not cut correctly apparently, and did not sit level when placed on the vertical bar. It sat in a slightly downward position. I did not notice this until almost the end of my installation and decided not to disassemble and return the entire rack. Instead, I will use this bar in the top position for only relatively light items. The slant is concerning and looks odd, but is not enough to cause stored items to fall off.

Works great and gets the lumber up and out of the way.
A real space saver. It holds a lot of wood and is easy to assemble.Make sure when you put the vertical supports up that you put the small bolts on the right side, or you will have to take it down to reverse them. Just visualize this on the floor first, makes it a lot easier to put up.

Some Manufacturing Defects But They Get the Job Done
I bought two sets of these in mid March 2021. They solve the problem they were designed to solve. In my case, they create temporary storage for long dimensional lumber materials, and for woodcrafting I enjoy between DIY renovation projects. You can see from the photos that it holds 12′ 2×6″ and various other items including one of my ladders, a roof rack, longer tools (my 6″ level, drywall T-square) etc.Without weight calculations, I estimate this assembly can hold 6 16′ 2×6″ boards per each horizontal level. Each horizontal level defined in this assembly by four leveled orange horizontal metal bars (two kits).Actual measurements of the components inside the package are provided in the photos for your reference. I find these measurements useful when planning the installation and making my Sketchup. The plastic spacer disks that your mounting screws (not included) will pass through create a 1/2″ space between the gray vertical support and the wall (photo included). The plastic spacers and slide-on horizontal (orange) components seemed weak coming out of the packaging, but they get the job done fine. I was able to hang from each of these orange supports (I am 6’2″ and 200 lbs) without any hint they might fail. Translated, that means I deliberately exceeded the stated weight limit of each horizontal member in this case by about 90 lbs. No problems.I mounted the ones you see in the picture 35 1/4″” from the left perpendicular wall, 33 1/4″ from the ceiling, and 32″ on center between each vertical support. I used Spax 4581820700765 1/4 x 3″ T-Star Drive Washer Head HCR (Exterior) Powerlag Screws (not included).Essentially, I mounted each assembly to a vertical wall stud, skipped a stud, then mounted the second assembly and so on – making sure each one was level and plumb. You can see the Sketchup I did to show how they are attached to the walls (ignore the shelving units I have not built yet above them). These walls are 11′ tall. While I am generally happy with what these do and how they are doing the job, I have a negative:One orange horizontal member in each kit seems to be defective. Since I had one defective orange component in each box, I thought maybe I had missed something in the instructions and the defects were intentional. But each of the defects in each are slightly different. In both cases, the lip portion of the underside of the member are shorter than the rest (see photos). In one defective component, the top of the square through-cut is also cut more distal to the vertical (gray) member than the others. The net effect of these two defects (one per kit) is that one of the top-most orange horizontal components angles up at an unnatural angle (see photo second vertical assembly from the left). in the second defect, the top-most orange horizontal component slides down over the support screw (see photo third vertical assembly from the left).I chose in this case to mount the two defective orange horizontal components at the very top of the assemblies with the hope that I can find a way to contact the manufacturer and get replacements. Since these orange horizontal members simply slide over the top of the gray vertical support bar and rest on the support screws, I should be able to replace these two defective members without having to disassemble anything more.Contacting the manufacturer with the specifics of my case doesn’t seem to be an easy thing to do. I don’t see a need to return the entire units since they are both mounted and functional. Just getting replacement parts is an adventure I’m still working through.Depending on how the manufacturer responds, I’d likely buy these again if I need more space for wood. The concept is sound. The execution is a little sloppy.4/6/21 Update: After talking with SAH Creatives customer service, they have agreed to send me a single replacement package. I will take two parts from the new package (presumably not defective) and return the rest. This solution seems a little expensive for them and slightly inconvenient, but it probably works better from their perspective than breaking open a box and sending me replacement parts I need.In the end, SAH Creatives is honoring their end of the deal to get me two fully functional units, so I’m going to add a star (from 3 to 4), and simply accept the gift that life isn’t always fair, perfect or clean. The best we can do is trust that, despite imperfections, we will each do our best in the end. Well done.

Good for long hard wood
Great for getting your wood right. They’re sturdy and simple. I used my own anchor screws to mount them on the poles in my 30×60 barn. I thought about building some myself but ordering these saved me some time and look nice.

Simple, sturdy, and easy to install
The product was smaller than I thought from the pictures (my fault, should have read the dimensions), but it holds a lot of wood, and it is very sturdy once securely fastened to a wall (and if you’re going to put 500+ lbs on it, I would sink the three fasteners on each rail into something very solid). It cleared a huge clutter from my garage floor and makes it easy to keep wood from being damaged or a nuisance while waiting for use.

Awesome! But DOESN’T COME WITH MOUNTING HARDWARE!
I picked up this 6 shelf unit on sale for $40 and love it! When I opened the box I initially thought it looked like it was going to be flimsy. First steps of assembly didn’t help that feeling but I persisted and once I got it on the wall it felt like a rock and I have complete confidence in its integrity now. It’s locked it!My one complaint, minor enough that I didn’t deduct any stars is that it didn’t come with any mounting screws. I get that there are different types of walls and this different hardware needed, but I wasn’t expecting to have to go buy 6 screws at $1.25 each to hand this thing when I bought it. Thankfully the directions were very clear and outlined exactly the type to get and they worked great. $10 extra between the screws and the bit for them, no big deal when the unit was $40 but if I had paid full price I’d have been upset.

Holds up the Wood
I put two sets of these on the back of my shed which gave me about six feet (vertically) of rack. Doing great so far. Very sturdy and simple. Make sure to look at the measurements so you don’t think they are huge. I’d say each set is enough to hold a 150 or more pounds of lumber, but that is in part because they only stick out about a foot from the wall.

Works great to help make a rolling lumber rack for sheet goods and boards
I liked using these pre fab parts to attach to my shop made heavy duty lumber rack. Saved lots of time and I know I have the capacity to safely store a LOT of my rough cut lumber along with these. And see the rolling lumber cart makes it easy to store and access the sheet goods!

Simple storage solution, almost 5 star
Only 2 things I wasn’t thrilled with: All the pieces came wrapped separately in plastic inside the box. Seemed a bit wasteful and unnecessary (took me longer to take all the plastic off than to actually assemble the racks) and one of the arms wasn’t machined quite right leaving it angling down below the other arms. Its only one arm out of 24 and its not much of an angle plus I was able to shim it up some from the back after taking these pictures so now the gap is even smaller but it doesn’t quite earn a 5 star. At work I build various displays/sets that need to be shipped and then assembled on site. So I am familiar with needing to build things sturdy while also keeping in mind that it needs to be able to get compact enough for shipping and also be simple enough for almost anyone to put together on site. And iv got to say that this is a great design! Ships in a very slim box for what it is in all separate pieces. The hollow tube design keeps the weight down while keeping the strength up and it assembles very easily. Hanging was very simple too. I ordered 2 sets. Not that I don’t think these are strong enough with just 2, but I wanted the weight spread out on more studs on my wall and I often end up with pieces short enough that I wanted some posts closer together. I am very happy with how it keeps my material up off the floor and above the stuff that does sit on the floor.

Not like the previous rack
Have had the Bora wood rack for 10 yrs and it works great. This new one arrived with three screws for holding the twelve legs. It could not be assembled until obtaining screws from the home center. There was only one end cap protecting the tube four sharp edges. Bora needs to do some QC prior to shipping units. Otherwise, the rack itself is strong and works as intended.

Excellent product!!
Love this quality product! SUPER EASY to assemble and install (and I’m a 65 yr old woman.) Instructions suggest installing brackets 4′-6′ apart; i did 4′ which worked out great based on studs. However, many of my boards/wood are 4′ or less. I have actually ordered another rack so i can add a third support between my original two to allow for all my smaller stock. One negative: product does not come with screws to attach to the wall. You will need 6 each of 3″ screws.

Good design, crap execution, believe the few-star reviews!
I decided to take advantage of a reduced price after watching this for some months. The below $40 price was good just for the steel alone and below what I could buy heavy duty shelf supports for from the hardware store! The reviews indicate some repetitive quality issues and I decided they were easy to overcome, but hoped I would be a lucky buyer, as I’ve been with other products. Unfortunately, I was subject to the same quality issues as many others. The design is simple and actually very good (take it from a design engineer!) The supports simply slide over the vertical mounts using square holes in the supports. Weight on the shelves pivots the supports down and they lock onto the verticals with a wedging action. There’s a very subtle upward slope to the supports to help round items not roll off the supports. Nicely designed plastic spacers are provided to allow room for the end of the supports behind the verticals. To hold the supports in their correct position when not loaded, screws are simply placed in the verticals, against which the supports rest. Under load, most of the weight is taken by that aforementioned wedging of the support against the vertical and only as little by the screw. The steel and paint finish is good and the thicknesses make for a sturdy assembly.Unfortunately, a cool design concept is totally let down by appalling detail at the manufacturing stage…Firstly, the screws are too small for the pre-drilled holes. They only just grip the sides of the hole to thread in, but don’t tighten, just spin, when bottomed out. Solution – go buy larger screws while you buy the lag bolts to mount the verticals. It is ridiculous not to add any mounting hardware. JUST INCLUDE THEM! and price accordingly (a dollar more if that!)Secondly, the holes are not jigged correctly, if at all. The bottom set of holes on one vertical for both the lag bolt and the support screws were out of alignment with the other vertical. At least the other holes did line up. Simple task, majorly screwed-up!Thirdly, one of the supports has too large a square hole and hangs down when installed. All the others were good and had that slight up-angle I mentioned previously. It will have to have a small plate pushed into the gap on the bottom edge to angle it up like the others.I can and will make this work, but for many this would be a return. If you intend to buy this product, just be aware of the issues you’ll have to address. The fixes are easy, but this manufacturer clearly doesn’t care. Shame on them!UPDATE:Additional hardware…You’ll need six 1/4″ x 3 1/2″ long lag bolts and 1/4″ washers plus twelve #12 x 1/2″ Pan Head Phillips screws. These screws are a nice tight fit in the existing holes.Installation… I found the easiest method for just one person to install this product iss to find the height you need, drill a pilot hole for the uppermost lag bolt and screw that in (not fully) to hang the first shelf assembly, not forgetting the spacer. The holes are slightly small for the lag bolt, but using a drill driver, the screw will go through. Then, with a straight board and level, or just a long level, hold the other shelf assembly at its desired location and mark its upper hole. Pilot drill and screw in that assembly loosely. Now mark each lower hole and pivot the assembly to the side to drill the pilots. Then let the assembly hang vertically and screw in the other lag bolts. You might have to loosen the upper bolt more to gain space to add the lower spacers.

Decent rack. Seems strong. Broken parts
I bought 2 of these. One was fine. On the other the little plastic mounting spacers were broken to bits. And since the packaging was perfect condition my guess is it was just a poor packaging design. The plastic spacers come packed in the end of the box in little cardboard tubes with them at the end the metal pieces clearly crushed them when maybe the package was put down on its end. I still kept it. I just made 1.5 inch square wood spacers to replace the plastic round ones and it installed fine. The others I was able to use the plastic spacers.. Installed into studs over drywall. I used 4 inch by 1/4 inch lag bolts. I bought 2 sets and spaced them 2 feet apart. The rack is fully loaded and solid… Except for the broken spacers, which were fairly easily replaced this is a decent rack. Only other defect I noticed is the little sheet metal screws that hold up the brackets go into holes in the rails. The holes are drilled too large so the screws strip and are lose. But since the horizontal pieces hold these screws in and only rest on these screws them being loose is not an issue. Overall I’m pleased, even with the problems… Cheaper than other options and plenty strong.Updated 6/2014I now up to 5 sets and done. And I must say after a couple months of living with them I am quite pleased. The only broken pieces in my original review were in that one first set. The holes are still drilled too large for the support screws. Yet the horizontal pegs only sit on these screws, so they are held in place fine. I installed 3 racks 4 feet apart on a different wall. This was going to be for longer lumber. But once again 4 feet just seems to far if you are really going to load it up. So I bought one more set and spent them every 2 feet on this wall as well. At 2 feet each level will hold 12 2x4s no problem. You seem to be able to fully load each space with lumber at 2 feet apart and it feels strong. Of course I’m using for framing lumber like spruce and pine. Have not loaded with anything like oak or maple yet. I’ve been using a level to check the pegs. 2 feet apart u feel safe they will not fall. 4 feet apart I was just a little nervous as the rack fully loaded just felt springy. Note they may have changed manufacturers. I was paying $60 a set. Last set was $75 and it is pained more red than orange. Same spacing. Same quality. But definitely redder and higher quality paint.

Don’t read other negative reviews!
The other reviews had me worried, but I have always had good success with the BORA products. I went ahead and bought two sets (just in case something was missing/bent/or not aligned I could get at least one seat to work. I NOW have an extra perfect set in my garage waiting until I can find another place to mount this. I got all of my boards up and off the garage floor. Easy to assemble and mount. Being a wood-worker I was planning to make my own but these are so much cheaper/cleaner/ just as sturdy and easy to take down if needed. You can’t go wrong with BORA Products!

Much better than I expected
I was hesitant to get a lumber rack for my shed. I wanted to see and feel something before buying it, but things like this are usually only available online. They didn’t have this at the Home Depot or Lowe’s stores where I live. I decided I had to go with it because I wanted something to mount from waist-height to the top of the wall (about 8ft.)in order to clear my floor space.I was pleasantly surprised. I knew that I needed lag screws to mount the rack on the wall, but I didn’t want those sized holes in my 2×4 wall studs. Instead I mounted three horizontal 2×4’s with the correct spacing with smaller diameter 3″ deck screws so I could put the 1/4″ lags into them instead of the wall structure. It may not have been necessary but it made me feel better about how I installed the rack and made it easier for me to keep it level when I was mounting it.The rack is a heavy gauge steel with a quality powder coat. It’s the kind of purchase you can brag about with one exception. It comes with tiny screws that are supposed to thread into pre-drilled holes in the vertical piece. These tiny screws are what holds up the orange shelf brackets. The problem is that the steel is so thick and the screws are so small I ended up stripping the Phillips heads off of 2 of them before I gave up. I think the holes would have to be a little bigger in order for the provided screws to work. What I did to fix it was to get 1/2″ long self-tapping sheet metal screws with square drive heads. The self-tappers went in the way one would expect for something you paid for–perfect! The heads were bigger than the screws provided by the manufacturer but that was OK since they tilted the shelves up a little more towards the wall which was what I wanted. Also I like the square drive on every type of screw. The Phillips head should be outlawed. If you think this rack looks like the one you want you are probably right. You will be very happy with it. Just remember to go to the hardware store and buy six 1/4″ lag screws 3″ or 3.5″ long and a small box of half-inch long square drive self tappers. Having to buy the right stuff to mount this is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

Great horizontal lumber rack
I used this to help organize the garage, and it did that very well. I bought three sets for different length of dimensional lumber, and even some narrow flitch slabs and smaller pieces.I made a few levels into shelfs by simply adding some sheet good material or 1×12 material that I had laying around. I used these levels to hold the smaller material ranging from pen blanks, spindle turning blanks, bowl blanks, and rough cut pieces for other small projects.I have this mounted with the lowest rack at around 4 ft, which is a great height for me since I have stacks of flitch slabs that I chainsaw milled underneath along with some cookie slices. I do have to use a ladder to get to the higher racks, but it isn’t too bad, and I typically keep the stuff that I don’t use very often up there. For my main stick lumber, I was a bit worried about attaching it to my cinder block wall, so what I did just for that set, is I mounted the racks to 2×6 lumber using 1/4″ lag bolts, fender washers, and nylon lock nuts countersunk into a mortise on the backside, and I then used multiple concrete anchors from the 2×6 to the cinder block wall to make sure it was securly fastened there. For the shorter racks, I wasn’t as concerned about the weight capacity, so for those I just used concrete anchors into the cinder blocks. The installation is fairly simple and straightforward, just make sure to use a level to get things even with each other and vertical on the wall.SAH Creatives had these for right at $40 for a while, which made them an amazing deal too.

Get organized!
Installed these on a basement concrete wall. I shot some PT 2×4’s into the concrete and then installed shelving into 2×4’s. I drilled a couple of extra holes in each upright to beef up hold. The only reason I knocked off one star is quite a bit of the screw hardware was missing. Nothing that couldn’t be fixed with what I had available in the shop. Much better to have lumber stored and stickered.

The best lumber organizer
I am a female, 62 years old, and I just installed these myself with no help. I am ordering another set. They are perfect for our shop and keeping materials organized and off the floor. There is a 150 weight load limit per “row”. Make sure you can get these mounted properly into studs; that’s the only way they can hold the weight. I had windows, outlets and light switches to jockey around, so make sure you have an unimpeded area. The brackets can span 4-6 feet apart. I had some shorter pieces of wood that I just laid on top of the longer pieces that I used to make a “shelf” first, spanning the width. The six 3″ long screws needed for mounting the vertical pieces into the wall are not included; we had some appropriate ones on hand.It is so easy to assemble. First, before assembling, I used the vertical bar to mark the studs on the wall I was using. I also measured for perfect placement off the floor and so both verticals would be level and marked where the top of the bar needed to sit. Then came assembly. Each bar has six tiny holes that hold screws that are the “stops” for the orange bars. So, you find the bottom of the vertical bar, the instructions give that information, and start with that screw then slide the orange bar in place down the vertical bar,, the move up to the next hole and place the screw and slide the orange bar on, and continue to complete all six bars. Finish both vertical bars this way, and then mount to the wall. The vertical bars have spacers that go between the wall and vertical bar for each of the three holes. To hold them in place, before mounting, I put a screw through the mounting hole to align it, fitted the spacer, then taped it on with blue painters tape I had, and removed that screw. That way the spacers are all attached, and all I had to do was hold the vertical bar in place against the wall and screw it in. I then easily peeled off the painters tape.

Solid Product as Advertised – Box arrived damaged w/ parts missing.
I received two of these products. I assembled the first one. The directions were easy to follow. The steel felt strong and sturdy. As I opened the box for the second one, I noticed that it was taped and sealed more thoroughly than the first. Upon opening the box, I noticed that the screws and spacers were missing. It is a apparent that the box was damaged at some point, and re-sealed. My lumber room was in complete disarray in anticipation of installing these two new racks, so I found some sheet metal screws that had the same size button head and of the ones that should have been included. I made spacers out of scrap pine, using the other package’s spaces as a guide for thickness and screw hole diameter.I have since loaded that racks up with my hardwood. I think I will be happy with the purchase overall.

With a little extra work – it’s great!
What I found and others have mentioned, is that the arms are at various angles to the uprights. Your lumber won’t lay flat. I took one upright and my electronic angle measure and measured every arm. I wrote the angle on a piece of painters tape on the end cap. I sorted and stacked the arms according to their angle. I had 3 kits and many of the arms were about 88 degrees – but there were also some outliers. Anything over 90 degrees I didn’t use. The few highly angled ones at about 85 degrees I use for the top shelf. The other shelves I use a matched set of angles all the way across. Sometimes one arm didn’t look right and with all the angles marked it was easy to select another arm to look right on that upright. A laser level really helps! When it was done, I had 5 uprights – one every other stud that looked great and all the arms lined up across. You will likely need an extra kit or half a kit to have enough extra arms get them aligned across.

Surprised how much lumber it holds!
Ordered 2 sets and one was orange and other was gray not a big deal but the gray set looked like a return and some of the plastic caps were broken or cracked. Despite that I put them up and am happy with them so far.

Item may come with missing Hardware
Item came lightly opened and seemed to have been a return. Screws for the bars had only enough to do on side but the plastic bag the hardware came in was open and screws were scattered. No biggie if you have spare screws in bins. Got it hung up and it seems to work well. I did use 1/4 X 5 inch lag screws to be held into the wall very good. Item works like described but just note that you will have to buy screws if item comes opened and the mounting screws for the wall. So go ahead of time before it arrives just in case. That’s my only issue with the item.

Great rack for light wood
I keep light wood, trim, and strips of plywood on. They work great and really cleaned up my woodworking shop. I initially ordered two set. They worked so good I ordered another two sets. The plastic end caps were damaged in shipment. Called supplier and they immediately sent replacements. Great customer service!!

Excellent Customer Service
Received product very quickly, but product showed up in a damaged box and had pieces missing. Contacted the carrier with no avail with finding missing pieces so contacted the company. They responded extremely quickly and I had a whole new set up in just a week. Even after getting side tracked for 5 days because of new baby coming into the world. They was great and product is amazing. Will definitely buy from again when I grow my business more.

Just what I needed
If you have a shop and room, order 2! These were just what I needed to store boards, just wish I ordered 2 because as soon as I put this up, more wood magically appeared.
