With the second hand and alarm hand it was hard to read. I was able to carefully disassemble the clock and remove both “extra” hands as it will never be used as an alarm clock and only as a mantle clock. Unless you have experience working on clocks I would not recommend my solution. Now it has the perfect look and function that I was after. Very handsome design.

Hard to read across the room
Beautiful clock; well-made; nice size. I bought this as a mantle clock with the hopes of being able to read it from across the room. The font of the numbers were thin, and the hands were just narrow enough that it was hard to tell what time it was from more than 10 feet away or so. It also has an alarm feature, so there’s an additional hand on the clock which also made it tricky when you’re already squinting at the clock.

There is no way to see it in the dark which keeps the bedroom nice and dark, but hard to tell the time. Still it’s a good value and serves its purpose.

Very Nice
Large, readable face with a quiet second hand that keeps excellent time. Just what I wanted! The only negative is that the bottom is open and the edges are unfinished, “raw” metal. A bit of felt would have been better. It can scratch the surface of whatever it sits on but if I want to move it, I try to remember to lift and place it rather than slide it. Not a deal breaker for me.

Good looking; silent and worked
So, why only 4 stars instead of 5? At night, it cannot be seen if your room is on the dark side. I wish it were back lit. My plan was for it to be on a mantle which means not real close to where I sit. Could not read it across the room. Now, this being said, I am of a grandma age so maybe for younger eyes it would work. I really did like it.

Good, inexpensive clock; silent
I just got my clock, so my opinion may change if I run into any issues. For now, though, I am satisfied with my purchase. The clock is a good size and very easy to read. It also seems to be completely silent, which is one thing I really wanted.Other reviewers commented on the unfinished bottom, which they thought might scratch surfaces. I’m happy to report that particular issue seems to have been fixed. My clock had a thin felt pad affixed to the bottom, so it will not leave scratch marks.

Cute little clock
I bought this for my hair station at work, I’m a stylist. The salon has a lot of antiques and this little clock fits right in. I’ve had it now for several months and it’s very accurate. It looks well made and very heavy but it’s actually quite light, but you can’t tell. I’m very pleased and it gets a lot of compliments from clients.

Alarm hand makes it hard to read time
This clock is very nice. The glass does not have too much of a glare to make it difficult to read. However, I do not need the alarm and the alarm hand is distracting when you try to read the time. It makes it confusing for others to try to read the time with the extra hand.

A good buy
This clock is easy to read and is, as advertised, silent. The one thing that I wasn’t sure about is the base of the clock. I would keep something under it as I think that it could scratch a tabletop.

Like it but wish it was heavier
Modern twist with old school. High visibility. Nice material. Hands are hard to see in half light, and falls over easy on a bed stand; functions well as alarm clock but I don’t like it when I’m groggy. Needs a sturdier base for hightraffic locations; perfect for a no-touch book case.

Attractive accurate but top-heavy & falls over immediately
The wooden strip of the base is much lighter than the weight of the clock itself. Not stable on the small lightweight base. The clock part is very attractive, but if it is not mounted exactly in the center of the small base; it cannot even maintain a delicate upright position at all. I hope their design folk can rethink this. Nice clock otherwise.

Just what I was looking for!
I ordered this clock to put on one of the end tables in the living room. I did not want anything too large, but big enough to be able to see the time across the room. I am very thrilled with this purchase. It is the perfect size and looks really nice in the living room area.

This is a great looking clock, love everything about it EXCEPT it is too difficult to read, the hands are not pronounced enough from the sweep second hand and the alarm. Not such a great alarm clock, awkward to turn off n the back of the clock and no snooze..

It’s a nice clock. It would be considerable better if the hands were more bold, easier to see. Also they should not have made the alarm hand black. Sometime my eye will catch that before the hour/minute hands. If a analog clock doesn’t communicate the time at a glance it is “second’ rate!

Good looking and reasonably priced clock
We were replacing a battery operated Japanese clock that we have had for more than 40 years and we were having trouble finding one that was of similar quality. Only time will tell about the durability and accuracy of the clock, but it is very good looking and seems to be made of good quality wood and metal. The only weakness we have found in the clock is that it takes a while to get used to the large second sweep hand when reading the time. After a couple of days though, it is not a problem.

Great Value Clock
Display looks good and is easily readable. Accurate and silent as advertised. Alarm is a simple beeping that’s sure to wake you up. Only real drawback is that it’s hard to make fine adjustments to the minute hand. It’s also not the sturdiest (made of plastic), but the wood base does feel solid. Overall, great if you need a cheap desk/shelf clock to sit there and look good.

This is a good looking mantel clock but cheaply made. Weighs a couple of ounces. I suppose you can’t expect much more for the inexpensive price. Just seems like a typical sah creatives product lately.
