Beautiful set! Highly recommend it!
This is a beautiful chess set. I bought it for my grandson for Easter, because he loves playing it. I didn’t open it when I got it since it was a gift. On Easter morning he opened it, and it was missing all of the playing pieces and I wish I had opened it right away when I received it. We emailed them on the 24/7 email site and they responded right away, on Easter! They are sending the playing pieces out right away and will receive them in three days! Wonderful customer service and would definitely recommend this. It’s a beautiful chess set. Well worth the money!

Nice quality and almost perfect!
We originally ordered these because we thought it would be fun to take a chess game on the road. The magnets peaked our interest and we thought it would help with keeping all the pieces where they need to be. It does the job just fine, however, the magnets are not very strong. The felt on the bottom of the game pieces prevent it from being very strong – but it’s still good enough for the average road trip.The storage compartment on the game board itself is a nice feature though! Honestly, I think that helped with keeping things from being lost more than the magnets like we were originally thinking. The board and game pieces are striking with the beautiful wood stain. It just looks nice all-around!We would definitely be willing to recommend this Chess set to others.

Nice-Looking Board – Basic Pieces
Time to have the kids put down the video controller and try something new. We ordered the AMEROUS Wooden Chess Set to try to broaden our grandkid’s interests. This is a very nice-looking board with two-drawers to store the pieces. It is magnetic, not very strong but good enough to keep the pieces in place. Like mentioned, the board itself is nice looking and the size 12-inches is not too big or too small, but the pieces themselves for this price point could be a bit nicer. They are ok and do the job, but pretty basic looking. It does come in a good-looking storage box, although it is just cardboard, but will keep it clean and looks good on a shelf.

Good Chess Set!
This is a good solid chess set. I played in HIgh School alot (Actually lettered in chess lol), so was used to tournament style pieces. This set is a bit smaller than tournament but very good nontheless. I am picky about my chess boards and pieces and prefer traditional/tournament style pieces (Nothing against LOTR, Presidents, Star Wars, Harry Potter, some of my favorite movies!) that do not detract from the game. The board is well constructed, nice coloration as are the pieces. Weight is good and the slight magnetic pull from them is perfect. This would be a 5 star set for many I’m sure, but when you’re used to a certain size and a good chess clock, to me this is a solid 4.

Lovely table top set
This is a lovely table top chess set. The pieces are nicely finished out of wood and have a classic, elegant shape (they even include an extra queen for when you crown that pawn). I do think they are just a *smidge* undersized for a table top set. But they are magnetic which is convenient to prevent things from moving when you accidentally bump the table (see images). The board is stout and well constructed with roomy drawers; the surface and inlay are finely finished. If you like the look and are interested in having a display piece, for $60, it’s not a bad buy. I have seen plenty of other sets that are as expensive, with fewer features, and of lower quality! 4/5 stars.

The magnets work really well just perfect balance to hold the pieces where they belong it doesn’t glue them on the board so moving the pieces is easy.I love the fact that they added extra queens so once you are ready to swap the pawn you can actually use the extra queens. And the drawers on each player side are a game-changer no more losing pieces you can store everything inside the drawers.Overall this is a premium quality chess set that would make an excellent gift for anybody who is into chess.

I haven’t played chess since the sixties…so I have a whole lot to re-learn. The chess set that I had back then was a cardboard, folding style board with small plastic chess pieces. It was not uncommon back then, to bump the cardboard game board, and have the pieces move… or to have the board fold while trying to move it.This board does not have a fold in the middle and the chess pieces are magnetized, so they stay in place. I can play this game, and easily move it from the table when it’s time to eat.An especially nice feature are the drawers on each side to hold the chess pieces when the game is not in use.This chess set looks so nice, that I am planning on getting a small top (bar style) table, that I can leave the whole set out for days (or even weeks if needed) without having to ever put it away.

my husband and son loves playing chess, my son has a glass set and so does my husband but he wanted a wooden set…selected this one and he was over the hill excited. The case/board feels sturdy an well made. The drawers to store the pieces make for a convenient way to keep up with everything. Drawers could be a little deeper but they are suitable for the pieces.

Wonderful Elegant Chess Set.
First I must say that I am a Vine reviewer and I received this AMEROUS Magnetic Wooden Chess Set, free as part of the vine program. Then vine program was designed by amazon to generate reviews of new products. I am not a great chess player but I like to play. This is a wonderful set, it has a 12.8 by 12.8 Chess Board Game with two Built in Storage Drawers It also contains two Bonus Extra Queens. It’s an all wooden set and you get the light set and darker stained set. It has that nice wood smell. The piece and board are magnetic to hold the pieces in place. Its a wonderful put together set and great fun for the family. I highly recommend this set. D-5.

Great magnetic chess set.
I think this is a really nice chess set. I really like how the sides have drawers that you store all the pieces in. They are all wooden and are magnetic which is awesome because when the board gets bumped the pieces stay in place. What’s not to love about that. This also comes in a pretty cool box that you can keep it in if you want or I guess throw it away but I like it. All in all this is a great chess set for the price. If you like the game of chess I would recommend trying this because I’m sure everyone would love it.

Great set for a young chess lover
Some other reviews point out that the carving is not fancy, but if you want a good sturdy chess set to use at home with kids who enjoy the game, this is a good one. It is substantial, each piece made of hardwood that is also magnetic, preventing pieces from shifting during play. The drawers keep the pieces in one place. We keep it on our coffee table for impromptu games. My only wish is that the drawers had a latch to stay closed to make it easier to move from place to place. we get around it by holding on to either side of the board where the drawers are to keep them from opening.

Nice, Magnetic Chess set
This is a nice, quality wooden chess set. It is magnetic which is great for traveling, we wanted a chess set that could travel well in car or RV. It has really nice finishes so it looks good sitting on the coffee table at home too. It is well made and the inlay wood is very smooth and shiny. The storage drawers are nice to keep the pieces all secured.It arrives in a nice box, so it would make a good gift too.

More than a starter set…
This is more than a starter set, you can proudly display this on your end desk or coffee table. The drawers to keep your chess pieces are infinitely more convenient than the sets where you have to put the pieces back into their individual slots. It is approximately 13 x 13 square and the workmanship for the price is very acceptable. Lastly, a little shake or bump of the coffee table and your pieces will still be in place due to the magnetic design. We love it. 5 stars.

Price to Quality Ratio is WAYYYY Off
This board is significantly less quality than you’d think.The packaging felt very nice and initially I thought this was going to be a fantastic set, but upon further inspection I started noticing all of the spelling and grammatical errors. The back of the box talks a bit about the set and my fiance and I got a good laugh out of some of the phrases.Upon opening, a VERY strong odor started spreading. Somewhere between a chemical odor and a poor quality wood odor. Maybe both! The smell lingered on my hands a bit after I opened the bags containing the pawns. It still smells just as strongly after a day whenever you open the drawers. Maybe if I leave them cracked a bit the smell will dissipate.The magnetism isn’t as strong as advertised, either. The product information is quoted, “The tournament chess set has slight magnetism to ensure the pieces stick firmly to the board without moving or falling while playing on the go, ” and “Magnetic Chessboard,Effectve fxed ppostion,More convenient to play (with an image of the board at about 75°).” While they were correct in saying the magnetism is slight, there is no way the pawns would remain stable when the board is tipped. I could see it preventing the pawns from jostling if it were laying flat in a car or on an unsteady table, but one good shake and they’re going flying.-1 star for poor quality and terrible grammatical errors that give away any illusion of grandeur-1 star for the the price/quality ratio. This feels about 30% over what my estimation on what a realistic retail price would be.It looks really cool and has a fun vintage vibe, but could you get better for the same price? Probably.

This was a very high quality product. It seemed very well made. I liked that it was wood. It would make a very nice gift because it is so nice.Chess is such a wonderful game. It teaches strategy and so much more. I liked that this had storage.I like when my kids play games because it so much better than staring at a screen. This was a very fun game for my kids. They really enjoyed it. It kept their interest. I really like that it gets them playing with others. It is great for them to play with each other or with us.
