The inside storage compartment just falls out some of the pieces of the green felt are already falling off I had to super glue some probably gonna have to super glue the storage compartment so it doesn’t fall out

Pieces scraped the green felt before ever opening
The pieces don’t fit in the board well soThey leave indentations in the green felt when the board is closed. After they move from their spot, they indent the green. So nothing is ever in place when you open the board and it’s not giftabke because it makes the board look like it’s used.

Love it. A future family heirloom.Reviews are right about smell but that faded quick. The inside holders for the pieces ate kind of cheap and don’t work great. I would have paid another $10-20 for a better storage compartment.

Poor quality for the price.
Seriously save your money. Better off getting the 30-dollar one. The package says “made in EU”. But I don’t think the EU makes such quality stuff. The wood prints are not even completed. The infill is a plastic sheet with scratches. It’s a joke. Decide to return it immediately after taking it out of the box.

Lost some paces to my onyx board, (broke my hart, had that set for decades) so I had to get a replacement set, this was good, and not breaking the bank.Enjoy!

Kinda disappointed
The board and pieces are beautiful however the one I received had flaws. For $40 plus dollars I could have gotten a better chess board. The letters and numbers on my board are carved horribly. It looks like whoever made it was in a rush and carved it with a knife. The internal holder for the pieces feels cheap and the pieces don’t fit correctly so the pieces would still shift around when the case is close. Not happy, I would actually get a refund if I wasn’t stuck on a ship and can’t send it out.

The chess pieces won’t stay in the same place for storage
The chess pieces are very light. And the green plastic holders inside won’t keep it in place. I gave up on it. Also the wood or plastic pieces are away too light. I’m ordering new heavier metal chess pieces. The board is very nice though. Cheap hardware, but it’s well done.

Family fun
I love playing chess with my family members, so this set works well. It’s great for playing amongst adults as well as teaching young kids. I got this set specifically because the prices can be stored within the board, very handy to not lose any peices.

Nice chessboard, pieces not so much
The chessboard is lightweight material, but the board top has nice rich colours. A nice sized board also. The chess pieces are on the plain side and lighter than I was expecting. Spare Queen pieces would have been nice. Overall, a very serviceable chess set that I will be taking to my community game nights to play against the other GM wannabes.

Disappointing in craftsmanship of pieces and board
The product was described as solid crafted board and pieces and while that is the case, both the board and the pieces are of the lightest weight material. Might as well be playing with styrofoam. For the money spent this not what I was expecting.

Well crafted
This is a quality product and the craftmanship is very good. We are quite pleased with it and it is displayed in our front room. This set folds in half and has a place to store the men so travel is easy. It has the letters and numbers so that you could play remotely with a friend.

Piece of the queen’s crown was missing/clearly broken off. Very disappointing for the price paid.
There was no shipping box either. The address label was slapped right on the original box itself. What if this was a gift?
