Nice product but the dimensions are not real
The game is very well made, it looks very good. But I relied on the dimensions in the description and I was wrong.Box size = 33cm = 13 inches (so not 14 inches as written in the product description)The size of the game board = 25 cm = 9.8 inches and not 12 inches as the seller answered!The detachable table = 28 cm = 11 inches.I tried to find a way to ask about dimensions on SAH Creatives’s website, I couldn’t, I was redirected to the seller. I asked the seller what the dimensions of this set are, but I didn’t get an answer.Unfortunately, I bought 2 pieces and I cannot return them because this process costs me too much!

Quality Check, but good.
Second time purchasing would have wished they did a quality check before boxing and shipping.First time, base board corner was damaged and almost cut me from cracked and exposed wood splint.Second time, the baize (picture provided) was is not full secure. Still keeping but highly recommend quality checks of full chess board. However overall, chess board looks great and love the metallic chess pieces.

Perfect chess board
This chessboard is great. It is really solid and classy looking board. Nice enough that you can leave it set up on the coffee table as a center peice. The chess pieces are heavy enough that are stable enough not to tip over when the bored is bumped. Over all wel made set. Perfect gift for all ages .

Bad Description
The description clearly states that there are extra queens, this set did not include them. I wasn’t a huge fan of the look or feel of the pieces. Especially that the felt on the base of the pieces did not cover the entire base of the piece, so metal is still touching wood, which can only lead to excessive wear over time. In real life, the board just didn’t quite look right to me, something to do with the selection of wood, the stain/lacquer, just gave a fairly dirty appearance with poor contrast.Obviously, I understand, I didn’t pay thousands for this set. But somehow, at this price point, it still underwhelmed, especially with it missing promised items.

My husband loves to play chess with a friend who has to stay close to home because his wife is currently housebound. One of the better boards/sets in this price range
To start, this set is packaged really well and in a rather pretty looking box and bag. The foam storage under the board is pretty nice as well.This is one of the better looking boards in this price range. I have no complaints about the craftsmanship. My camera is a little unforgiving and highlights what appears to be a scratch or two, but with the naked eye, I’m not seeing it. The base is thick and has a nice feel to it. The underside is covered in a jet black felt material and feels nice.I dropped it down to a four star review because they made a mistake with the pieces that I imagine with bother at least some percentage of players: They covered the bottom in felt, but it is centered over a concave part of the piece, meaning the metal edges of the piece are in contact with the board the entire time. If you slide these pieces, you will definitely scratch the board up over time. This doesn’t bother me so much, but buyer beware.

Another Beautiful Peice by Amerous
Amerous makes in my opinion some of the best chess sets I each one just as beautiful as the last. This one in particular has a nice wooden playing board with inconsistencies in the wood as proof that Amerous is committed to quality materials in their quality products. The pieces are stainless steel with weighted bottoms fitted with felt to protect the board and each peice has it’s own spot inside the board for ease of storage and placement on the board for those new to the game of chess. Instructions are included including on special moves like Castling and En Passant Captures. Highly recommend!!

very pretty board.
the pieces do have a mold line it would be nice if that was different but everything fits well in the set and will be nice for playing. This set would be good for a smaller child as the pieces aren’t huge. There is felt on the bottom of the board and would be helpful if playing with the board off the bottom. An issue is a possible problem with the felt on the bottom not covering the entire bottom. This would make a nice gift as well.

Nice set – more than good enough to have out and “display”
This is a very pretty set. It’s just good enough quality to both look nice and play nice, too. What I mean by that is that I don’t think this is “real” wood – I think it’s some sort of compressed sawdust type of deal. And the pieces, although metal, are most likely hollow inside. They have weight, but not the weight you’d expect if they were solid through and through.We are displaying it on our dining room table. As long as someone doesn’t pick up and examine the “wood”, it looks great.

Beautiful Chess
I love Chess. I like to own multiple Chess boards for different experience.My favorite one to play on is the “Oumoda 20″ (50cm) Tournament Chess Sets with 2.2” squares”The wooden board is nice, but the Chess pieces are smaller.This is good if you want to leave it out and display.For actual play, I prefer the Oumoda roll up tournament board (easier to see and move around)

Stunning chess set ♟
This is a spectacular looking chess set. It comes very well packaged in a box thats almost as nice as the set itself. The pieces feel well weighted and balanced. The also so beautifully crafted. The felt on the bottom of it each piece is perfectly aligned for me. Meaning we didn’t experience any metal dragging across the board during playing because the protective felt is applied quite well. The board itself is stunning. It’s a beautiful set with a board that has this stunning marble look to it and this perfectly fitted felt on the back as a protective layer for when storing the chess pieces in the bottom of the board. The board frame separates from the top creating the perfect place to store the lovely chess pieces keeping everything streamlined together beautifully. When everything is a neatly stored its not easy to differentiate that the board separates from the sides because the entire set is very well crafted and beautifully designed.I have been hunting for a good chess set for my husband and I for years! I’ve had my eyes on a few different sets and this set is the PERFECT set. It has a unique and elegant classy look to it. My husband and I both couldn’t be happier with this set and would recommend it to anyone!!

Beautiful and durable
I ordered this chess set for my kids, who have been asking for one after learning to play chess at school. All of us were impressed by the beauty of the wooden board, which has a rich grain and smooth, well-finished surface. The top lifts off of the base and has a flocked back; the base is heavy, also has a flocked back (it doesn’t slide around on a table), and almost reminds me of a picture frame. The metal pawns are lightweight, with fabric bottoms so they don’t scratch the board, easy to maneuver, and they remain standing nicely. The pieces can be stowed conveniently away inside the board, where there is a foam insert to protect them (my kids actually love this feature, and I don’t have to ask them twice to please put away their game; they are very proud of this set). It does come with a simplified instruction booklet for beginners, in a nice box ready for gifting (see my pics).This is a beautifully crafted, well-designed chess set that my family has already gotten a lot of use from, and I look forward to many years of games. I would recommend it.

Wanted a board that was nice enough I could leave out on the coffee table and that could store the pieces. This is exactly what I was looking for! Good heavy wood and metal pieces that fit securely inside yet are easy enough to remove. Velvet backing of the board so the stores pieces won’t get scratched. No flaws or defects in the wood.
