A very smaller for the birds to stop and eat
I do like the construction of the feeder and the size of the hopper, but Cardinals and other sizable birds have no place to “sit and eat”. It seems designed for our smaller “friends “.

Good birdhouse
The birdhouse is beautiful. My only issue is that the ends of the feed area are open under the suet cages where the food will fall out. Mine came with a scratch on the plastic panels. I won’t return for that. Smells heavenly.

Well made. Able to take glass out and clean.
Mounted it on a pole, top comes off easily. If you install it on a hanging situation, it would better.

pleased with product
Similar to a precious bird feeder than wore out. This one is a little smaller but adequate. Not quite as easy to fill but the birds flock to it. I like that there are two places for suet. I think it will service me well.

So Excited with my new Birdfeeder
I looked and looked for the right bird feeder. I wanted one big enough so it didn’t have to be filled every day. I wanted it sturdy enough to put up with the elements, including snow and rain. I wanted a space to include suet. And I wanted the ability to paint the bottom and sides the same color as our house. It hangs on a rod right outside our living room window and when I sit in my chair I can see all the bird activity. I am so happy and would definitely recommend.

A few flaws
The roof had a knot hole that went all the way through which would allow water straight onto the seeds. I plugged it with caulk not to happy about this since it was a present but my mom was ok with it and easier than returning. The plexiglass was loose on one side when delivered. I just barely managed to pull that out, without breaking it, to put it in right. The top opening isn’t very big and has a support beam running across it which leaves a small area to pour seeds in. Over all it does look nice and is sturdy though, so I imagine my roof problems were a fluke.

Heavier duty bird feeder
This is a heavier duty bird feeder. Easy to load seeds. Holds up to our fat squirrels who jump onto it to eat the seeds. Birds seem to like it.

Great Burd Feeder
I really like this bird feeder which allows me to put out both loose bird seed and suet. It’s pretty thick and seems durable. The one drawback is the bird across the center holding the two sides. While it does add to the sturdiness, it makes pouring the bird seed in a bit on the difficult side. Still, with that being said, I am very happy with it.

Not for any bird bigger then a sparrow
This is not a bad bird feeder overall but I did have to screw on a piece of wood to the bottom that was larger then the base so birds like the cardinals we have here in Alabama could comfortably eat. Otherwise they have to sit sideways in the feeder.

Good Value
This type of feeder typically has the top hinged to fold up for filling. I rated it a 4 because it’s a bit more difficult to fill with bird seed. But, overall, it’s a good product.

Beautiful, non-toxic, but squirrel friendly
I loved unboxing this real-wood bird feeder because it smelled all-natural. I filled it with bird seed and hung it from a plant hanger on our deck. I’m two days, the squirrels ate all the seed. Too bad… will need to return.

Great bird feeder
I’ve had regular feeders and I’ve had suet feeders. But this combo has definitely brought more birds to my back yard. It’s a lovely feeder and the wood/metal/plastic inserts have survived multiple storms and more importantly, all the squirrels.

Awesome feeder! Birds love it 🙂
Our other bird and suet feeder broke because a raccoon got into it and pulled it down, so after some research, I decided to purchase this feeder. As soon as I received this, I opened it and put suet on each side and mealworms in the center, then I hung it up…and almost instantly birds started coming. They seem to love it! The day after I hung it up there was a BAD storm…tons of wind and rain…and its still hanging up there with no damage or problems…so I definitely think it’s sturdy! I haven’t had anymore raccoon or squirrel issues either. I’m definitely pleased with my purchase and think it’s worth the $26.99 that I paid. And the cedar smells wonderful! I highly recommend! 🙂

Didn’t last
This feeder was great before the hanging cable deteriorated and eventually broke. Lasted less than two years. If you don’t mind replacing your feeders every year or two, then this one works well. Just be aware the durability isn’t the best.

Nice cedar wood. Won’t rot.
Great feeder. The only shortcomings happen to be the side suet cages are a little small for the store bought suet blocks. You have to cut them in half to clear the top when inserting them. That’s not a big deal besides greasy hands. Real suet from the butcher is best anyway. It’s just getting hard to find anymore.

The media could not be loaded.
Didn’t even last a year in Southern climate. Hanger came loose and the whole wood top was started to rot. Differently not I expected.

Looks good on my patio.
I am a big bird lover. I have cockatiels as pets. I want all birds to enjoy their life so I do what I can to make it better for them. I like to hang a feeder and watch them. They look happy. While I have never seen a bird go hungry, I like to offer them something special. I buy a good quality food. Now I need to work on watering them.

Death trap
I just went to refill the bird feeder and a bird was caught in the side bars where the suet cakes go. Unfortunately it died from either being trapped or a broken neck. I was unable to get it out so I threw the whole feeder away. I’m hoping this was a freak accident but very disturbing.

Nice feeder, not very well built.
This is a nice looking and easy to use feeder. The birds (and the squirrels) love it!However, it’s cheaply made. Expect the hanging cable of this feeder to break within days of using it – especially if you have a fat squirrel hanging off it! ;-)I do recommend buying it but you should immediately secure the cable with a better staple or nail. However, be careful only to use very small nails or screws as the wooden rail is very small and not hard wood – it will crack and split easily. Staples are probably best, or an epoxy. You get what you pay for these days, so there’s that.

Missing pieces, pretty rough finish
The bird feeder arrived missing one of the two suet holder cages. It didn’t look like it fell off, there were no holes or staples, I think they just forgot to install it at the factory. It also had a pretty rough splintered section along the perch, and some junk stuck to the black grate that blocked it from getting painted. I saw some other reviews reporting missing pieces, so some of us are just getting unlucky. I’ll touch it up as best I can, and replace the suet holder with some hardware cloth, but it’s kind of annoying.

Either mine was defective or it’s just not well built
The house is pretty, the birds love it BUT … Got it on April 04, the hanging line came off on April 13 and the house came down crashing!UPDATE (1 star to 5 stars): reached out to customer service who immediately sent me a replacement; perhaps mine was just defective. I’ll give it another shot and update if needed.UPDATE: months later and the bird house is still standing without any issues although there were severe thunderstorms in the area with very, VERY heavy wind. The birds love it and it looks very beautiful. Yup, 5 stars it is!

Good bird feeder, wish it was easier to fill.
Nice little bird feeder. I love the natural look. The cedar smelled excellent when unboxing. Love the side suet holders. My only complaint is it is a but difficult to fill because the inside is narrow and partially covered by a bar. So, when I fill it, lots of seed spills onto the ground. Otherwise, I like it enough to have bought a second.

Better constructed than big box hardware store feeder
The lovely scent of cedar will greet you as you open the box upon delivery! As well constructed as any you’d find in big box hardware store, if not better. The bottom and roof extends around the suet holders. Majority of the birds in my area seem to prefer this, especially during wet weather. I took the plexiglass out of one feeder for a tray style for the different types of birds in my area. It isn’t squirrel proof, but I’ve had a squirrel and birds sharing a meal on it at the same time! One improvement would be to crimp the top of the mounting cord to create a loop to prevent the feeder from tilting when there is a heavier visitor on one side than the other. Very easy to fill with seed, suet blocks, and other food

Lightweight and well made
At first i thought it was too small, but that was an advantage. The little birds can get at the food without being pushed out by the doves. The insert works very well to aim the seed out the on each side and keep it from turning into a solid mess in the bottom of the feeder.

The roof / top over hang and tray / perch not very wide. Still a decent feeder for the value. ENJOY THE SONG OF THE BIRDS!

Great bird feeder. Birds love it.
I bought this feeder a year ago and just bought it again. Fluke things happened. Another animal put a hole on the side of the feeder. Truly believe this was a fluke things. I bought in the past and it lasted years and years Great product.

Super cute, just one issue…
Very happy with how nice this looks! Beautiful cedar, sturdy, looks made well. The only thing I didnt love was the bar in the middle of the top of it, under the roof. So you need to be careful filling it, otherwise the seed goes everywhere. Im used to just reaching up and pouring it in. But I do have to take it down and use a smaller cup because of the bar in the middle. A little inconvenient, but knowing what I know now, I still would have bought it.

nice looking
This is a nice looking feeder. It’s a bit heavy when loaded with the 2 suet pads. The hang cord is strong and the weight shouldn’t present a problem. I do not like the horizontal structural wooden bar connecting the two sides. The bar makes seed filling a bit awkward and typically messy. But I fill next the hanger so the spilled seeds are found by hungry wither birds.

Easy to Fill Feeder
This feeder, even though it is narrow, isn’t difficult to fill. If you have problems, I would recommend a scoop with a funnel that opens and closes. That is the best way to fill it. I can also hang the screen under it that catches the overflow the birds spill out.

Raccoon-proof
This is the second one I’ve purchased. My first one lasted 12 years until it met a family of bears, but it endured nightly raids from a rowdy group of fat raccoons and still held on until then. I take the plastic sliders out and just use the middle to hold mealworms, but your mileage may vary there. It’s easy to clean and it holds up very nicely. Good value!

Fits the bill
these are slightly smaller than I thought and made in China. That being said, they do the job and hopefully will last a decent amount of time. Pretty simple, holds in birdseed and suet and hangs nicely. The amount of seed to fill normal bird feed containers is usually 5 to 6 scoops and this one was basically 2 scoops. That said, we’ll see how hungry the angry birds get.Kind Regards,Mark

Broke after one week out in the wild…
I’m going to preface this review with this comment, if you want to give the item a try, I suggest keeping it somewhere that squirrels or other wildlife won’t get to it.Moving on…For a solidly built wood bird feeder, it sure didn’t hold up like one.I had bought it about 1-2 months ago, with a plan to put it out when it got a little warmer. When that day finally came, I was excited to put it out for the birds to enjoy.I don’t know if any wildlife it wasn’t meant for possibly got to it, but when I went out to fill it up, one side of the perch meant to stop seed from spilling out was completely broken off. The wood had practically split where it was screwed/nailed in.I had tried this feeder out in the hopes of having a solid combo seed/suet feeder, and after my experience with this, I’m afraid I will have to stick to metal feeders for the time being. I may give them another shot someday, but for now, I would pass on this

Beware
I love this bird feeder but last week on the ends where suet is a small finch got down into that end to eat at bottom to get last of suet and couldn’t get out and died. I felt horrible. Just keep eye on suet getting low. Other than that it is great feeder.

Good feeder for the price. Does accommodate birds both large and small.
I’ve had both large and small birds flocking to this feeder every day. Including cardinals, nuthatches and flocks of finches. Several different types of woodpeckers have been feeding from the suet cages including large pileated woodpeckers. I’m very happy with it. I mounted the feeder on a 6′ steel pipe with the help of several other products that are available from SAH Creatives. I screwed a Bird’s Choice Mounting Flange to the bottom of the feeder which makes it easy to remove it from the pole for cleaning. I buried the pipe with a Squirrel Stopper In-Ground Pole Stabilizer Anchor which means no animal will be able to knock it over. Beneath the feeder I mounted on the pole an Audubon Torpedo Steel Squirrel Baffle which has been 100 percent effective at keeping squirrels off so long as the baffle is mounted close to the bottom of the feeder. Otherwise squirrels can jump from nearby branches or the bird bath to get a grip on the pole or the bottom of the feeder. The baffle prevents them from getting a grip on anything. I wish the feeder was larger and better made. I doubt it will last for more than a year. But for this season it’s been good.
