Quality
The quality seemed great but when this arrived the whole puzzle was cracked throughout, kind of disappointed so I will return this for a replacement. I also ordered another puzzle from them that has delayed for days. I may just cancel that as well and save the hassle.

Cute but there’s saw cuts running between the pieces
The media could not be loaded.
This was edited out (or made differently) for the images that show the item online. I usually know Melissa and Doug toys to be well crafted but this feels like they took a huge shortcut. There are saw lines connecting each puzzle piece and when I lifted the pieces out they have sawdust still underneath. I assume the pieces and frames are typically cut separately to avoid this but it seems like a cheap shortcut to save a little material.

it sheds a lot
When I first got this puzzle for my daughter I was excited because it’s a pretty puzzle big but it’s sheds wood dust like crazy no matter how much I wipe it off it reappears and I don’t feel comfortable letting my daughter playing with it.

A Great First Puzzle Set
We got these for our granddaughter for her first birthday this week. They are extremely well made. Most puzzles are for older children but since these only have 3 pieces to each board, there isn’t so much going that it’s too “busy” for her. Each animal piece is large with a nice wooden knob type handle and she can grab them easily. She hasn’t mastered getting them into the correct places yet but she is learning the idea that when something comes out of a certain spot you try and put it back. When she gets tired of the puzzle aspect of this toy, she finds the knobs very handy for flinging the pieces across the room and watching Grandpa and Grandma retrieve them. So we foresee her enjoying these during the next several months while we ponder the best way to teach her to pick up her toys!

I use These with both a 1.5 yr old and a 3 yr old and both enjoy it. Such a simple toy and it helps with a number of skills for kids to learn. My only complaint is that some sides are really rigid so the pieces get stuck while trying to put them in but over time it gets better. Love them overall.

Good Quality Product
The thick wooden puzzle came shrink wrapped and in perfect condition. My 1 year old grandson loves it! It is such a great learning puzzle because it teaches through a picture of the shapes.I almost didn’t buy it because of the negative reviews on SAH Creatives and decided to call Melissa and Doug company to find out if their superior quality had changed over time. The company informed me that the pictures on the puzzle piece are not painted; it’s a picture with a high quality laminate on top. I decided to take a chance, and I am so happy I did. It is good to know from other reviewers that the puzzle pieces do not hold up to a long time in the mouth. (In my opinion, puzzle pieces shouldn’t be used as a chew type of toy anyway.) My grandson prefers to put the knob in his mouth and it is reassuring to know that the knob is screwed not glued, so I don’t have to worry about the knob coming off. My grandson did put the actual piece in his mouth for a few seconds and it did not fall apart. Since the puzzle piece is not a solid wood piece, I imagine if left in the mouth for a long time it could warp. At this age, I’m planning to use the puzzle with supervision anyway, so there won’t be a chance for my grandson to use it as a chewing type toy. I highly recommend this puzzle. I also bought a Melissa and Doug transportation puzzle that I am going to save for when he is a little older.

I love this for my son! The knobs are super big much bigger than any other puzzle I’ve seen making it much easier . He’s still not interested in any puzzles yet but he’s at the age to start learning so I jumped and got him a few so we’d be ready! This is definitely my favorite !!

Excellent quality, sturdy and creative puzzle. The puzzle is made with thick excellent quality of wood. The knob on top of the puzzle is similar to the knob on cupboard drawers. The image on the puzzle is printed on the wood and not stuck on – this means you will never deal with peeling of a sticker. The size and thickness are perfect. Very impressive piece of educational art for children!

Great puzzle!
Better than I thought. I was thankful to find these bundled because they are expensive enough separated. But I will say, after getting them, I can see why. They are nicely made, heavy. The handles are perfect for my 18 month old grandsons hands. He loved these!!
