Great retro chair.
My office has a lot of antiques and I wanted something to fit in. This is a wonderful looking chair and comfortable. Even my wife (who hates the decor), likes it. It went together easily (except for the casters but they included a block to assist). I am very happy with this chair!

Good quality chair
I work from home for long hours every day, and I basically spend my day in this chair. It’s quite comfortable for me. Assembly was pretty easy for most of the chair, but the casters were a bit difficult to put in; the holes they go into were a bit small. The directions said to press hard until you heard them snap in, but that didn’t really work, and even after I heard a snap, the wheels popped out when I sat in the chair and tried to move around. In the end, what worked best was taking a hammer and beating the heck out of the casters to force them in as far as they could go. Probably not the best idea, but this did work, nothing broke, and the wheels are now stable. Removing a star for the issue with the casters, but otherwise, a very good, sturdy chair!

Just what i was looking for.
Wanted a more traditional chair for my desk. Purchased similar unit from Department store website, they shipped wrong color and returns are a pain. Found this one, SAH Creatives offered correct color at $75 discount under dept store “sale” price. It is the SAME unit just different color. Easy to assemble with included allen wrench. The only tool you’ll need is a hammer/mallet to drive wheel studs into sockets. Included instructions are complete and simply explained with accurate drawings.

I love the chair. It’s beautiful.
It was easy to put together, but I already broke it. The back off. It is so beautiful I hate to throw it away.

Good- looking and solid.
There were some minor difficulties in assembly, nothing too difficult and centered in the angle of the three bolts holding the seat on to the back. The chair looks first-class, just as pictured. It’s not a comfy chair, but if you sit up, it’s a good desk chair. It went well with the antique desk I’m using it with. A good purchase.

Used the Alternative Vendor Link for a discount
Nice chair reproduction of the classic heavy wooden teachers chair in lighter wood/better hydraulics. Seems to be fruitwood stained pine whose best feature is the seat adjustment can be set very high compared to other office chairs I’ve had in the past.I mean it was 1/2 price so is this to be expected?Worst customer service when I tried to replace the part. Called number provided and they then told me to send an email with proof of purchase so they could then ignore me, which seems to be the experience of at least one other reviewer here.

If you can ignore some big scratches and blemishes, its a nice chair.
Look, its an old style bankers chair made in china by the lowest bidder. A considerable amount of scratches and dents were on my chair as I unwrapped it from the box…it creaks a little when you lean back, but otherwise its a nice chair. My study is a dimly lit room, so it fits in nicely. In a well lit office, the imperfections would be glaring.

Nice chair
Dunno why some left bad reviews. Everything I buy usually has bad reviews because of all the Karen’s in the world. This thing is nice and heavy and looks very professional at a fraction of the price. Took me about 15 minutes to put it together. Delivery was only a couple days. No complaints

I LOVE THIS CHAIR!
My husband assembled it for me (said it was easy) and we purchased the rubber wheels for it since we have a wood floor. We have a western/cabin themed home and my office space is in the kitchen. This “bankers chair” fit the decore perfectly. It feels like you have stepped back in time when you look at it because it just isn’t your typical chair, so it goes well with all of my old antiques. It is very comfortable and the arm rests are in perfect position for me (I am 5’8″, medium build).

I Hate this chair.
It is small, and VERY uncomfortable. The ‘padded seat is about as soft as a rock! After inserting the castors, you cannot get them back out, and the main column is the same. It will not come back out, so I am unable to return it because it has to be in the original box. Soooo disappointed!

LOVE the look, but the seat is not so comfy! 🙁
Seems sturdy! Sooo appealing; I love the wood. I use this for my home office, and every time I get up, I get a sharp pain up my spine; the seat is definitely not good for people with bad lower backs or for sitting for a long time. I’m going to have to use a seat cushion on top. Also, it doesn’t seem to roll well on my hardwood floors, but I never have to roll far anyway, so not a dealbreaker.

Great chair matches my antique desk perfectly!
I was very pleasantly surprised at the value of this purchase. I shopped around and the SAH Creatives price was best! The chair is very attractive and sturdy and comfortable. Wood is very natural looking and mechanism seems good quality, vinyl seat is well padded and quality. When assembling the installation of the casters was challenging. You need your own rubber mallet or similar tool. Instead of “tapping” the caster in the holes as instructed, we found a firm hard pound worked much better, but make sure your aim is good so as not to bend the metal structure of the legs. I would recommend this chair. A bargain!

A surprise in a box
As a natural born sceptic my thoughts when purchasing an item blindly always leads to thoughts of poor construction especially when the price seems too good to be true. In this case my trepidations were unwarranted. The chair was extremely easy to assemble and is everything I could have hoped for in a office chair. Very pleased with the product.

Missing parts
Product quality seemed ok for the price. Attachment inserts for the left arm were missing. These are the metal inserts drilled and screwed into the seat that accept the 8mm screws that attach the arm. Left arm is looking sad being attached by only it’s top screw. Rather than return it (no way I’m taking this thing apart and putting it back in the box) I spent ten bucks and ordered additional inserts from SAH Creatives. They should be here in a day and finishing the assembly should go quickly.

Love this chair
It was super easy to put together and I had not issues doing that. This chair is very comfy! The cushion is padded and not slippery to sit on, the arm rests are at a great height and the back of the chair makes this thing super comfy as it curves into your back at just the right place and stops on your back at just the right height. Great price and great buy.

Pretty decent desk chair
Unlike some others I had no problems with the ball wheels, but I did take care to be sure I popped them carefully and fully into place before using. The chair looks great, is surprisingly comfortable and feels substantial enough, and my only gripe is the squeaking of the metalwork down under that occurs when my body shifts up/down, and that’s something I can likely fix with a shpritz of WD-40 when I can rouse my lazy self to do so.

A Poorly Crafted Misfit
This cheap, poorly machined chair is a definite return! Parts were defective so that they did not fit together without gaps, or they had bolt holes that weren’t aligned with the holes of the part to which they were intended to be attached. This chair is the perfect candidate for the city garbage dump!

Good Chair
The chair was harder to get out of the box, than it was to assemble. It came with all the hardware and most of the tools. All I needed was the rubber mallet, but a hammer with a gentle touch will do.If you like wooden chairs, this one is very comfortable. I does sit a little higher than i expected compared to my last one. The chair is easy to adjust with a single lever.. Adequate rollers, plastic not rubber, but that should not really be an issue. Overall a very nice purchase.

Very nice chair at this price point
Went together easily enough. Directions weren’t bad at all. It’s not the softest seat in the house by any means, but I don’t use my desk for long periods of time so I don’t care. It looks great and suits my home much better than the previous one.

Love this chair! I got it as a gift for my sister and it is perfect. It was actually easy to assemble, including the casters. Put it together in around 30 mins. The directions were easy to follow. The chair is sturdy and comfortable. When the first one arrived the arm was damaged but the company replaced it right away and the second one was perfect. This a good chair and great value.

Shabby, yet uncomfortable.
This was the most disappointing thing I’ve ever gotten from SAH Creatives. 99.9% of my SAH Creatives experiences are positive. This fell into the 0.1% that are not.BUILD: The low quality of the materials is only exceeded by the pitiful workmanship. I had to disassemble the base and use a vice to get the wheels inserted. One of the five legs of the base was splintered and glued back together. The arms were difficult to attach, and the mitered slots do not correctly align with the body of the chair. The spring mechanism that should allow the chair to tilt back does not function at all.COMFORT: I’m used to sitting in wooden chairs for extended periods. However, this chair quickly causes pain to my lower back, shoulders and arms.Though awful to sit on, this chair might have other uses. It could be handy to local homicide departments for sweating suspects, to colonial Americans wishing to gain a confession from an alleged witch or to families hoping to discourage a relative from overstaying her welcome.

Stylish, comfortable, strong
I now have three of these chairs, including the one I am sitting on now. Two of them have arms, the third does not. That third one is the chair that I an my crew are on and off all day long every day as we check photo inventories of antique wooden boats we are preserving. That armless chair is as sound, quiet and functional today as it was five years ago when I assembled and put it into service.

Surprisingly Comfortable!
I needed a chair to go with a wood desk at home. This chair closely matched and the price was reasonable. Actually, I bought it used on SAH Creatives but in new condition to save a few $. I figure it was hard to damage since it is wood. The box was beat up but the chair was like new. Surprisingly, the chair is very comfortable for me. I didn’t think it was important to have the built in seat pad but it’s great. I’m on the petite side so I added a small pillow cushion for the chair back and it is perfectly comfortable for me. The chair is sturdy which is very supportive when sitting for hours. I bought this chair with arms, although it also comes in a model without arms. If it’s important to push your chair under the desk when not in use, then you might consider buying the model without arms.

Don’t tighten screws until they are all in!!!
I really like the look of this chair. It’s also comfortable. I knocked a star because the casters are plastic and I have a feeling they aren’t going to last as long as the chair. As for assembly READ THIS! VERY IMPORTANT. Do not tighten screws down until you have all the screws in place on the back and arms. Definitely don’t add the screw covers until everything is attached. I tightened the screws on the back and it felt sturdy and “right” and put the caps on. Then I went to attach the arms and they weren’t going to fit. I had to use a wood screw to remove the wooden caps (ruininf them in the process) then adjust the back. The arms then fit perfectly fine. Tighten everything up and was good to go.I bought four of these chairs to go around a board game table and I think they are going to be awesome.

Great chair with the worst plastic caster-wheels
This chair is made of real wood, has a great finish and nice comfortable pad. I recommend this chair completely, especially for the price.BUTThe caster wheels they provide with the chair are just awful! I have only used them on a smooth wood floor , and 3 of them have failed so far, all in the same way. The hub holding the wheels to the caster breaks and the wheels come off!If you can buy a set of casters or have replacements ready when you assemble I would recommend it. The chair is wonderful. It is a pity the wheels are so cheap and fragile.

Great bargain
Believe it or not, after years of uncomfortable dining room chairs in our breakfast nook (we made our formal dining room into my office), we went with four identical office chairs, and our guests absolutely love them. You can lean back, move around they are very comfortable and sturdy As with many furniture items I did not detect a single instance of compressed or particle board used. They seem to be 100% solid wood..

Everything great but the color
Sometimes it’s a carp shoot when choosing chair for an existing table. It’s hard to match up but I took a chance and order expresso to go with my espresso dark table. The chairs look cherry compared to the table. It is harder to distinguish at night when I actually put them together but it was a little off. When the sun was out I was not happy as you can see the difference. The Construction of the chairs is great. They are solid and I took the advice from one review and attached the arms to back of the chair first. It makes a huge difference when setting it up. The cushions start out stiff but then begin to loosen. I am very happy with them except for the stain because this is not expresso. If I had not put them together at night and tore up the boxes I probably would have sent them back. That’s why the 3 stars.

Nice chair….slight defect
I like the chair. It’s comfortable and fairly easy to put together (I did it myself). However, the holes on the left arm didn’t match up with the holes in the seat. I didn’t want to go through a return. My options were either to drill holes where they should have been, or make do with the arm attached to just the one hole in the back of the chair. I chose the second option since I didn’t want to ruin the chair by making a mistake with the drill. So the left arm is attached, but not as sturdy as the right arm. I’ll live with it.

Assembly Nightmare
Was excited as the parts seemed solid and good quality. First nightmare attaching the arms. Very bad angle and did not line up. Tried to tighten and since it was a weak Allen wrench sliced my hand. Now blood is everywhere. I’m not a quitter. So after cleaning up and bandaging get back to it. Screws did not fit and stripped it so now I need to find a way to remove this tightened screw. Will have to go to hardware store to purchase a screw that will fit. So now I have a dangling arm but decide to continue with the rest. Casters we’re very difficult to secure. Felt like a keystone cop doing this chair. Spent hours on something that should have taken 30 min. I would have returned the dang thing but if you think I’m disassembling it w a wounded hand that wasn’t happening. Looks like another hour will be invested going to the store for parts. Bottom line if you want to waste half day putting together a chair that most likely will not assemble securely this is the one. Hey maybe if you want to take revenge on someone make it their job! 🙂

The chair won’t stay up!
I really like this chair very much. It reminds me of the vintage oak chair I had when I was a kid studying at my desk at home in my room/desk. Nice and solid, easy to put together and arrived well packed and fast delivery.But. While assembling the chair, the plastic end to the rod, (used to pull to raise and lower the piston for the chair) Losing the plastic end did not interfere with raising and lowering the chair. If the piston had continued to work, I would have rated this chair 5 Stars, easily.I purchased this chair in March of 2021. I am out of the country from end of April to the middle of October. Mid November of 2021 the chair began to slowly go down about once a day. By this date (12/2021) the chair won’t stay up for more than 15 min now. It needs a new Hydraulic piston. Wonder where I can get that.

Do not buy a return on this item!!
I ordered a return that was labeled in very good condition unfortunately the driver had trouble bringing it to me because the box was so destroyed, once open there were no instructions and one arm was broken, this obviously was not in very good condition!!The assembly is very easy and went smoothly, I have the arm fixed and covered over the scratches. The color is exactly what I wanted and is very comfortable to sit in.Beware of returns!!!

Save a few bucks and get the one without the “padded” seat. It’s almost nonexistent. If you need cushioning take the money you save and buy a real seat cushion.

I love it!
this was easy to assemble. there were a couple of flaws in the wood but was able tocorrect it with a furniture marker. I did not have the same issues as others with broken or cracked wood. i have a smaller desk is in my dinning room/kitchen area that needed something that looked more like a piece of furniture than office equipment. This is perfect. Looks antique-ish and really finished the look so my area doesn’t look sloppy. although i gave it 5 stars for comfort, i may update this… i do not work from home until tomorrow! we’ll see how 8 hours of sitting in it works out but sitting it in briefly over the weekend it was very comfortable! the price is reasonable… i had seen “real” antique bankers chairs go for $2000-$4000 on line. less than $200 fits my budget and looks great!!!***update***8 hours of comfort!!! Love it!!!

Nice chair BUT hydraulics FAILED quickly
I like the look and even the feel of this wooden chair. BUT after only a few months the hydraulic part of the chair that lets you adjust the seat height failed. You can make it go up still, but as soon as you sit in it it goes all the way back to the lowest position. Would not recommend as there are better, longer lasting options out there.

Bad Quality Control
Overall, I’m happy with the chair. Normal assembly isn’t that difficult, except the hex-holes in the screws that attach the lifting mechanism to the bottom of the seat began to round-out with the supplied hex key. I had to get my own to tighten them. The major problem was that the support post wouldn’t fit into the base. When the wood was attached to the metal frame of the wheel supports, whoever assembled it at the factory installed it off-center. I had to completely dissasemble the metal from the wood, re-center & drill new screw holes, and re-assemble. Now it’s perfect, but definitely not something everyone would want to do.Also of note, the supplied casters are junk. I read previous reviews and ordered rubber replacement casters at the same time, and installed them instead. They work great on my hardwood floor.

I like it, but…
This is actually my second of this same chair. I bought one 5 years ago and decided to replace it since I had beaten it up so much. My only complaint is that the holes for the casters are not uniform. Some caster slipped right in with a couple of hits with the hammer. Others never even made it all the way in because of bad clumpy welds, and I actually broke the metal frame off its connector which screws to the wood frame under two of the legs. So the caster is in enough to be wedged, but not in fully and now the chair is a bit uneven. So, that part is pretty disappointing. But the rest of the chair is great and I like the style for the price.

Great Chair! Great Value!
This is a very well built chair that is relatively easy to assemble. Some holes didn’t line-up perfectly, but I managed OK. Once put together, it’s rock solid. If there is a weak point to this chair it’s the wheels; I tossed them and ordered wheels from Office Oasis and I now have a chair that should last a lifetime. A word to the wise, however; the chair back is about as comfortable as it looks in the pictures. So, if you must sit at a chair for eight hours a day, I suggest you consider a chair with a padded back. The padding on the seat is about 1 inch thick and adequate. Made in Thailand. Two year warranty on the wood and metal moving parts; one year on the upholstery.
