AWESOME DOLLHOUSE!
I ordered this dollhouse for my 2 year old daughter as a Christmas present. I’m SO, SO happy I did! She absolutely loves it and will happily play by herself for really long chunks of time. The house is very open so it’s easy for little hands to move things around the house and when friends come over, there’s plenty of space for everyone to reach in or access rooms from the sides. It takes up just the right amount of space–it’s probably about 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide. Depth is about another foot. I’m sure the exact dimensions are listed somewhere, but basically it takes up just the right amount of space in our family room. It’s not too heavy and has a handle so it’s easy for me to move around or pull out from the wall. I love that it’s not a super girly house with everything being pink so when my son is old enough to play with it, it won’t be a “girl” toy. The wood it’s made out of is very sturdy and I’m also really pleased with the solid construction of the furniture pieces and the different ways you can set up the house. The only thing that’s weird is the staircases. If you think about it, there’s not enough of them, but my daughter doesn’t seem to mind!

Birthday birthday gift
We gave this dollhouse to our granddaughter for her 3rd birthday. It was a hit!I recommend buying some of the additional set/sets to go with it. Additional sets will also make a great Christmas gift.

Poor craftsmanship and this item not eligible for exchange.
It is not well made. The craftsmanship is very poor. The material cheap. The roof cannot be removed since the holes are very small. My husband put them applying significant force, but a child cannot remove the roof as advertised (at least in the house I received). We just received it and the paint is already chipped in the roof board. The balcony is hanging crooked as you see in others reviews. Also the design is not good in my opinion. It is hard to access to the bottom floor. There is like a baseman to the right bottom of the house that is useless. The dolls do not fit in this “basement” and it serves no purpose other than taking space that would be good to have in the top floor. Because of that “basement” the ceiling of the top floor to the right is very short and dolls do not fit well in it. Additionally there are only two stairs what means that children need to constantly move them (my child cannot do it without the stairs fall) . Children can play pretending the dolls fly but then the stairs has no purpose. If the floors were symmetric without that senseless basement two stairs would be enough and the ceiling of the top floor would be higher. Overall I think it is hard to play because of the design. The furniture of the bathroom and master bedroom is very good. The kitchen furniture would be ok if it wasn’t because the oven is open all the time. It does not close (another flow). I bought the dining room also and I do not like it either since the dolls do not fit on the chair to eat since the table is not high enough. In the Hape manufacturer video the doll sit on the chair next to the table ,but not under the table because they do not fit. Overall I wish I would have bought another house that my daughter could play. In this one things are constantly falling over because of the lack of space and bad craftsmanship.

Some assembly certainly required
Lots of parts and you should be patient to assemble. Do not have the kids help!

Very sturdy and great design!
My daughter LOVES this dollhouse. Oddly enough I bought it for her 3rd birthday, but she has shown a lot more interest in it as she has gotten older (now four). The included furniture is very cute and very well made. The only item that hasn’t held up is one of the staircases, which unfortunately I have not been able to track down where I could buy a replacement and the dollhouse only comes with two even though there are multiple levels. My daughter doesn’t seem to mind moving the staircases interchangeably (even the one that is missing it’s broken landing and has to be carefully balanced between levels- haha) , but It would have been nice to have included an additional stair set.

Love this dollhouse!
Couldn’t love this more. I considered the mixed reviews carefully when opting to buy this house. The details are beautiful, there were no missing parts, and it was easy to put together. My husband put it together in 20 minutes. Doesn’t come with people though, so you’ll need to buy those. Mine came with the living room, kitchen (but not dining table set), master bedroom, and bathroom. I plan to purchase the dolls (including a separate baby doll, which is pricey), and the kids rooms with twin beds, the baby room, and the dining table. I also have the car, pets, and playground on my list. I bought this for my 4yo who constantly plays with her cousin’s similar Melissa & Doug house. This house is comparable but more expensive. In my opinion, you get a lot more of the cute details for the money (e.g., bedding in the bedroom, vanity, drawers that open, pots and a mixer for the kitchen, duck for the bath, etc.). One pet peeve (which won’t matter at all to my daughter, I’m sure) is that the stairs don’t connect to each floor (just the 2nd to 3rd and 4th to 5th). I wanted to play with this after we put it together!

Beautiful doll house, 4.5 Stars
Beautiful – I love it! Overall I would give it 4.5 stars because of a few minor issues (see cons below).Took me about 30 min to put together by myself. Got it for my 2.5 year old, and it works great with her Peppa Pig characters (pictured). We also have a 10 month old, and there were only a few pieces that were small enough to be choking hazards that I had to hide (rubber ducky and pots/lid). I love how realistic the furniture and accessories are that come with it: toilet lid opens/closes, bendy floor lamp, working cabinet and fridge doors, etc.Pros: Very pretty, sturdy, easy to put together, good size, comes with lots of furniture and accessories.Cons: some parts of the wood frame were rough so I will need to sand them, and there was one screw on (or hole?) on the bottom corner that was defective: screw goes in only part of the way and spins freely without tightening the pieces all the way together. I’m sure my husband will figure out a fix for it though.Overall I am very satisfied with this doll house. I will surprise my daughter with it later today and will update my review if necessary.

Great dollhouse for toddlers
I wanted a natural wood, easy to play with dollhouse for my 3 year old granddaughter’s birthday. This was the best gift I could have ever bought for her. She told me, “I play with it all the time.” It was easy to assemble. The instructions are in pictures not words. It is beautiful yet practical in design. A three year old can easily reach in and play with any room. The dollhouse comes with wood furniture a duck and towel for the tub, bedding and some rugs as well as a pot with a lid and some lamps and a terrace. I bought dolls from the same company. Not only does the three year old play with the house all the time but her nine month old sister loves it as well.

Gets TONS of use!
I bought this for my 2 year old daughter and she really loves it. It’s amazing to see how her play with it has evolved. This is one of our favorite activities to do together. We have this set in our living room and use it daily. The furniture bundled with the house is an AMAZING deal. Don’t buy it empty!I have just a few complaints I’ll list for the review… The panel with the bushes on it wastes play space in my opinion. The area down there never gets used; it’s just too hard to get to it. Another problem is the door doesn’t stay closed. This could be our old house on an angle, idk, but it would be really nice to have a small magnet on it to hold it shut. The oven doesn’t stay closed either. Other than that I am very happy with this purchase.Get the Hape dolls too… They have the little plastic hands that can grip the accessories perfectly and they really are better quality than the cheapo knock offs. We have 3 sets of people and the Hape ones are the nicest.1:12 scale dollhouse stuff works great in this house.

So bright and beautiful
This is so nice! My only complaint is that it was obviously damaged and repainted in a few spots which is a little disappointing… I might have done a refund except for Christmas Eve is not the time to try to find another gift from Santa. I’m sure it will get lots of love so I’m not overly sensitive about it BUT if this is something that would bother you I would definitely open up the product beforehand to make sure there’s no damage.

Perfect dollhouse for our 3yo son!
We got this dollhouse for our 3 year old son for Christmas. He has wanted one for a long time and I spent a significant amount of time researching our options. We love this dollhouse so much! It comes furnished but we did get the children’s room accessory kit and plan to also get the dining room.Pros:-furnished: my son loves all the attention to detail. The drawers open, oven and fridge open, toilet seat fold down. There is a little rubber duck, area rugs, a little coffee maker, two towels, and pot with lid.-love that there are so many accessories available! They do add up, but we plan on doing one or two for birthdays, etc.-my son loved that you can flip the roof panels from the green summer vibe to the white snow. He flips them according to each day’s weather-quality: everything is made out of wood and some pieces are painted in bright colors. So far I haven’t noticed any cracking, splintering, or paint chipping.-ease of assembly: this took me about a half hour to unpack and assemble. Tip: do not fully tighten until the very end!-imaginative play: you purchase the family separately and there is a Caucasian, African American, and Asian family available. These figures are posable. This dollhouse is great for all ages – kids are always drawn to it when they come over. Even my eleven year old enjoys setting up the rooms!Cons:-the balcony on our set tips toward a bit so there is a slope. Not a big deal but annoying-the door on our dollhouse wouldn’t stay shut. This drives my son bonkers. So I used a little piece of thin adhesive felt to fix this issue. Also note that the door only pushes in – which I found to be bothersome but my kids don’t seem to care-there are several VERY small pieces that are choking hazards for little ones – we keep these ones up and then give them to my kiddo when he is playing.-the stairs: there are two staircases and they simply sit between which ever floors you choose. Honestly either have no stairs or fixed stairs! My son always asks why there are missing stairs because there should be five sets. Then, because they are loose (so you can move them to different locations), it is impossible for a younger child to make the dolls go up or down the stairs without the entire staircase falling over. It’s a source of frustration for my child.Overall we are happy with our purchase. I would not classify this as heirloom quality, but I feel confident it will last through all three of my boys playing with it. For the price we are very happy with our purchase!

Wonderful dollhouse, expecting to get many years of play out of it!
I bought this for my daughter’s Christmas present this year (she’ll be 3 in a few months, and isn’t super rough with toys like this), and we are very happy with the purchase. It took a little elbow grease to put together – it isn’t a total breeze – but was very doable for two people working together. No worse than a lot of IKEA furniture! 🙂 Other reviewers have noted that the flimsy-ish flooring pieces may mean that this won’t be an heirloom dollhouse. I honestly don’t see that being a problem unless your child likes to slam the dolls and accessories on the floors as hard as possible. Otherwise, I can see this lasting through the play of quite a few children as the frame and accessories are very sturdy and hold together very well. We did remove a few accessories before giving it to our daughter (the duck, the towels, pots and pans, etc.) and will give them to her in a few years. She has been playing with this for long periods of time each day since receiving it, and I think this will be the case for a long time!To round out the house, we also purchased the Hape children’s bedroom set, the Hape dining set, and the Plan Toys modern doll family. I didn’t get the Hape one because while I really like the idea of the grandparents being included in the set, there isn’t a bedroom set for them, and I could see that being annoying for older children. In retrospect, I should have gotten the Hape family, however, for two reasons. 1. The Plan Toys family is just a bit larger. This doesn’t make much of a difference in most ways, but the adults in the Plan Toys family are too large to fit in the shower that comes with this dollhouse. 2. We have a wooden barn set and could have made the grandparents “live at the farm.” 🙂 Either way, I shouldn’t care because she is mainly using a Calico Critters hamster family that she received from her aunt as the residents of the house anyway. (And in case anyone already has some Calico Critters at home but no houses for them – they do fit perfectly in all of the furniture at this house!)

Great for play? Yes. Heirloom quality? No.
We purchased this dollhouse for Christmas after looking at several others. It arrived in a cardboard box with just the description printed on it. The box with the huge pictures was actually inside. Just be ware if your kiddo can read and you want to keep it a surprise. I insisted it it be put together well in advance to make sure things would line up properly. It took my husband about 30-45 minutes to put it together (while watching TV). Yes, it does take some finagling to get the floor pieces to line up with the front and back panels, but it’s doable. Make sure you do not tighten the screws/wooden supports at first…this will give you wiggle room to adjust each floor panel and set it, once that’s done…tighten away.Things I really like:The colors are great. Access to all rooms is fantastic so more than one child can play at the same time. The roof panel on the right has a cut out to allow for easy access into the room at the very top…well thought out and functional. All furniture pieces are a good size, I would not consider most of them to be a choking hazard. Some really tiny pieces such as the rubber duckie, the pot w/lid, pan, and mixer I will be taking away as I have a baby in addition to the toddler getting this for a gift.Things to consider:Although this feels sturdy enough once put together, this is NOT an heirloom quality dollhouse. If that’s what you are looking for, look elsewhere. It will, however, last for a few years of play. Although a nice start with the furnishings, the house does not come fully furnished or inhabited. It’s missing the dining room, kids room, nursery, and of course the people (and pets) who live in it. Add those in and all of a sudden this doll house is much more expensive. If you are putting this together ahead of time, make sure you have somewhat of a larger space to hide it. Although the foot print is not huge (one of the things I really like), it’s not the easiest thing to hide from a curious toddler. It is made in China.

Perfect first dollhouse, not the quality I expected tho
Totally redid the paint and flooring to blend with my daughter’s room. I’m super happy with it! Less busy this way. This dollhouse was much more affordable than Etsy dollhouses. I’m pleased with the purchase as her first dollhouse!

Good Value for the Price
We got this dollhouse on sale which it seems to do on regular intervals. Compared to other gender neutral dollhouses this one is an amazing dollhouse for the price. I don’t mind seeing it sitting in my livingroom one bit. It’s very easy for the kids to play with: four little kids can all play at once without getting in each other’s way. And it’s durable. In several months of daily play, it seems like it will hold up for a good long time. We were extremely expressed with the amount of furniture and accessories that come with the house – even a rubber duckie! I didn’t think the roof change would be kid friendly but my 3 year old can do it without help. I get lots of positive comments from friends that come and play and have a couple Hape products on my kids’ Christmas list because we’re very happy with this one. My two year old tends to take furniture and dolls out of the house, play next to it and then put them back and change it up unless she is playing with other kids.My kids: 2 & 3-1/2. Kids who come and play 1-1/2 to 6-1/2. Kids yonger than 18 months don’t show any interest. We don’t have friends older than 6-1/2 so I don’t know where the upper limit is. This dollhouse will definitely be “cool” as long as kids will play dollhouse for, though.Pros:Durable, Easy to Set Up, Lots of Furnitire & Accessories, pleasant to look at for both adults & children.Cons:This really should include a flight of stairs for each level. My 3 year old has picked up on this quirk during play and will make his people jump between the level without the stairs. Add another flight of stairs and this is a solid five star product. I considered making it 5 stars even with this feature missing. Not specifically about this product so I didn’t include it in my star rating: The Hape people that are sold seperately seem to be moderately durable. The hair is showing wear after a few months and I suspect they won’t stand as well after some time. They are good but not great. I wish we had looked into other peoples instead of just settling on the ones that went with the house.Bottom line:If you want a gender neutral dollhouse, get this house. You won’t be sorry.

Cute, functional and reversible
This was super easy to assemble and you can easily move it. All the furniture opens up and the roof flips from a winter scene to a summer scene. The stairs can be moved anywhere and the veranda can also be moved around. You can buy more furniture and a car with the wooden people that you will need to buy. There’s a pet addition you can get. My only complaint is that the veranda is not level because it’s too short on width but it still attaches !

Overall a good purchase
This dollhouse is super cute. Like other reviewers have said, it isn’t the most durable (not an heirloom or anything), but I can see this aging with my child and it will probably still be standing for the next one. I thought assembly was pretty easy- it took me about 30 minutes. I had to make adjustments as I went, but once it was all in and tightened, it looks fine. One thing that seems to be a problem for me but I didn’t see in other reviews (could have missed it) is that the balcony does *not* sit right at all. It is supposed to just slide in, but mine falls forward. It stays, but it’s so tilted, it’s completely impractical. This could have been an issue with the one I got only- can’t say for sure. I may end up rigging it, if it bothers my child. The furniture that comes with it is very nice. Good details- I love that cabinet doors and drawers open and close. Now that it’s all put together, I plan to complete it with a dining room set and a kids’ room. I think that will make it feel fully furnished. It came with a good amount (master bedroom, rec room, bathroom, kitchen), but it doesn’t quite round out all the rooms. My three-year-old has shoved the furniture that came with it into about half the house.I already purchased a Hape family to live in this and, while it’s nice that they’re posable, I do see that the quality isn’t the best. My child likes to undress her dolls and she was able to get the clothes off, even though it seems like it wasn’t meant to come off, which you can tell by how they look underneath.I am also disappointed to see that, although the Sahcreatives listing says it’s from the USA, it is made in China. Bummer. Should have done more research before purchasing.Overall, I would recommend it. It’s a great size and very cute. The details and aesthetic of the furniture is great. If the quality level (not poor, but not heirloom) and being made in China don’t bug you, I think you’ll be very happy with your purchase.

So glad we chose Hape!
I have to mention that this is an incredible house for children on the spectrum! The shapes and colors help to keep their attention. The open floor plan makes it easier to move things around, so there is less frustration. We have had this dollhouse for about a year and a half, it has been played with constantly and has held up extremely well. Fortunately, we had no problem putting it together, but the screws can require occasional tightening. My older kids had other dollhouses through the years, but this one far surpasses those in function and is cuter, in my opinion.I decided upon Hape while searching for an affordable, gender neutral, durable, wood playset, for my preschooler with autism. It is amazing to see him actually play with this house. I feel that it is educational, with all of the fun accessories, bright colors, window shapes and unusual roof style. It’s nice that the stairs and patio can be rearranged, and the hanging light fixture is a big hit. The open design allows imaginative, creative play from all angles (which can be so much fun to watch)! Some people have mentioned “missing” staircases. The staircases are simply mobile and can be moved as needed, or easily removed, during play. If there were more than two in the house, it would be far too crowded. Many action figures and toys have also inhabited the dollhouse, to the dismay of the Hape family. I eventually added more furniture sets, pets and the patio set. The quality and detail in all of the sets are wonderful, nothing has been overlooked. I have since purchased other Hape toys, we love the colors, the playsets are fun and they hold up so well!UPDATE: September 2016: Having owned this dollhouse for years, I can vouch for it’s durability! I’m keeping this one for my grandkids. I have noticed that there are imitations on the market now, by different companies. The Hape wallpaper and designs are cuter and the furniture looks much more detailed, so I still know that we made the right choice!

I’m obsessed with this dollhouse
This is the best dollhouse. It’s not flashy and distracting, all the little wood furniture is so well done and adorable. My 4 year old and baby love it. I think I’m as obsessed with it as they are. Eco friendly, solar panels, clean wood design, European looking… it’s perfect.

The best dollhouse out there
This is absolutely charming! The open structure makes it much more usable, the furniture is incredibly detailed (pillows!, pots and pans!). My 4 year old granddaughter had Peppa Pig using the potty in no time, and she and her brother affixed a slide to the roof and had figures sliding off, as well as the more usual imaginative play. Really like the solar collectors. Very high quality.

I love this adorable house!
This adorable doll house was a huge hit for my 3 year old daughter this Christmas. She absolutely loves it! The detail on the pieces and all of the extra accessories make this such a great buy! Perfect as a starter home for your little one that’s not quite ready for Barbies dream mansion.I opted to use the callico critters instead of wooden dolls and they fit perfectly to scale with everything. I also bought a pack of small battery operated lights to adhere to the top of each room and that was an amazing find provided by another review for this product. I would definitely recommend this for anyone with a little one at home. I put away some of the really small accessories for the time being until my daughter is a little older. This house will get used for years to come so it will be another exciting day when she’s introduced to new pieces to add to the fun.

I looked at all sorts of reviews before settling on this shape model. My daughter is IN LOVE! She hasn’t opened any other Christmas presents because she’s too busy playing with her furnished house. I encourage you to opt for the furniture with this model because it’s adorable and a great mix of items. My husband was able to easily assemble this house. All paint and wooden parts look great. We are truly thrilled with this product.

An exceptional doll house!
This is a wonderful dollhouse! It is well made, sturdy, and looks as if it will hold up to many years of play. All of the rooms are bright and easily accessible. I work with many children, and children, both boys and girls, ages 4-11 seem drawn to it. There are other toys and games in the room but this is by far the favorite. So far, the dollhouse has been a home, a hospital, a medical clinic, Army quarters, and a school. And I imagine the kids will come up with other ways of using it. The Hape furniture is also high quality. Because of a need for diversity in the setting in which I am working, I used Calico critters instead of the larger Hape families. They appear to fit right in and it is not obvious that they are slightly smaller. The only difficulty that we had was that some of the screw holes did not line up correctly. That was frustrating, but easily remedied by drilling another hole. Aside from that, the house was very easy to put together. I would not let the minor problems deter you, because the finished product is well worth the effort.

Affordable dollhouse
Bought this dollhouse for my 3.5 year old daughter. We wanted something non-gender specific and durable since we have an 18 month old son who would also be playing with the house. We did lots of research and comparisons between this and the Plan Toys, Ryans Room and Lancaster dollhouse sets. While this set was the lowest quality of the four we compared, the cost difference was enough to sell us on this one. My kids love it. We added the children’s bedroom, and the plan toys nursery (chosen because it actually included the baby, which the Hape set does not). The only problem I have with the set is the scale isn’t consistent. I assume they are trying for a scale of 1:12 but it isn’t consistent between pieces, and the adult Hape dolls look big with some of the furniture. The shower stall and stove are too short, and the sofa looks obviously smaller than the bed. I don’t think it would be that hard for Hape to make all the pieces according to scale, or at least consistent within their brand… All in all this is a great choice if you want to stay under $200.

The Best Dollhouse!
This is The Best Dollhouse! My 5 year old wanted “a BIG dollhouse” and she couldn’t be happier. It has ridiculous amounts of detail, like towels and a rubber duckie for the bathroom and throw pillows for the sofa, and it’s colorful and gender-neutral. You have to buy your own dolls to populate it but there are black, white, and Asian families available. We also got the additional furniture for the kids’ room because the bunk beds were too cute. If you were torn between a Victorian dollhouse and this modern structure, choose this one. It’s easy to play with and even has solar panels on the reversible (summer/winter) roof plates. My husband put it together by himself with no problems in about 45 minutes.

Bright, fun engaging play house!
I bought this doll house for my son when he was 2 after seeing it at a play space . It’s one of the few out there that is gender neutral & he loved playing with it. I have since added on the Hape family car & the kids bedroom set as well, and this house gets played with all the time between my two kids, plus the 2-3 other kids who I frequently watch, and any friends that come to play. (ages ranging from 2-8, but I could imagine even older kids might still enjoy)The frame itself is pretty basic & I did have to manipulate it a little while constructing it, as I remember, I think a couple of times one frame piece wouldn’t quite line up but if I just tried another in the same spot it worked out well enough. I think the trick ended up being getting it all pieced together but tightening it all the way after it was fully built. Now 2 years later it is still all in one piece, after plenty of playtime, and all of the furniture too is in great shape! Overall, a great, engaging play house for girls & boys that will last many years.

Fantastic dollhouse, highly recommended
Like some of the other reviewers, we bought this dollhouse to give to our child for Christmas 2012. When we bought it there were only positive reviews. It was delivered and we kept it in the plain box away from little eyes. Then I noticed three negative reviews of the dollhouse popped up within the last several weeks, and I got nervous. All of these new reviews complained of pieces not fitting together properly. So we decided to put it together a week before Christmas so we would have time for a backup plan if it didn’t work out.As you can probably tell from my 5 star rating, we were not disappointed like some of the other reviewers were. Everything fit together nicely and we had the entire thing built in under an hour. The finished product is really nice, and it seems very sturdy. I know our child is going to love it and get years and years of enjoyment out of it. One piece of advice that helped us when putting it together: don’t tighten the screws completely until the end when you have both sides on and the floors are sitting flush in all the slots. It helps to be able to wiggle the beams a little when you’re sliding the floors into place. I would wager that this piece of advice would have saved some of the other reviewers some headaches.

Nicely made, quickly put together
Nicely made, quickly put together, all the room furniture is so cute– caution: got a splinter from 1 piece… 2 pieces with rough edges. Need a little sand paper. The floors and walls are cute. Only complaint– NO PEOPLE Came with it. Quickly ordered that and will be here in 2 days. In the meantime, I am sure some other creatures will be used. I also purchased teh bunk bed set. It is a TOTAL HIT with my Grandchildren. 5 yr old grandson played with this for hours day one, and first thing today. 2 Yr old grandaughter spent an easy hour or more playing with it and then went back again for more.. Bottom level is great for RV;s and ice cream truck. So much fun playing with this! Worthwhile? O yes! Happy with this purchase: unequivocal YES! Recommend it: YES!The doll family arrived and more stories were imagined as mom also played. Duplo characters worked well, too. Cute and so worthwhile

Fantastic
This is a fantastic product. I don’t typically write reviews, but in this case I felt compelled. I was struck by how well it was made when assembling the house – its clear someone took great care when packing the pieces. My kids love it. We purchased the furniture and families as well – which are also great. I feel like at every turn there was more to love. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

A beautiful toy house for kids
A great purchase and product. My grandkids love it and it was east to assemble. If you have a impact driver vs the hex wrench supplied with the house it’s so much easier to assemble both time wise and on your fingers, lol. I’ve already ordered a couple more for friends grandkids. They furniture provided is great. My only minor complaint, and I mean really minor, is that I wish stairs had been provided to all 5 levels as the set only comes with 2 sets of stairs. As an adult I noticed, the kids not so much. I would highly recommend this product.

The Dollhouse You Dream Of
I bought this dollhouse for my daughter’s fifth birthday (which is tomorrow), and I know she is going to love it. In looking online at options, this one was her favorite because of the features/design and also mine because it seemed like the best quality and value. Thus, we saved up for it. Yes, the price tag is high, but you get what you pay for–in this case, it’s quality. The house looks really nice, and it’s sturdy. It comes with enough furniture/accessories to put some in each room, although you can buy add-ons to make it more complete/full.For example, in my photos, we have the add-on kids’ bedroom and dining room sets from Hape, as well as a set of kitchen accessories (bottles, boxes, dishes) from Haba, which are mostly in the fridge and cabinets, so not very visible in photos. The wardrobe in the parents’ room does have useable space, and we have the Haba doll that comes with multiple outfits, so maybe we will store her clothes in there. The topmost room is empty right now, but that’s not because there was nothing to go there. We’re going to put the add-on baby’s room from Hape there—just waiting for it to arrive in the mail. We also plan to put the Haba laundry room set in the bathroom, the Haba bunny hutch on either the balcony or the space beside the living room, and the Haba kitty in the kids’ room. By the way, Hape makes a lovely set of three pets (dog, cat, and bunny); it’s just that my daughter already has the Haba ones, and they fit well. Without the add-ons, I think I would have done the “double living room” (as shown in the manufacturer’s photos) and either and truly left the topmost room empty, as though a second balcony.Under the kitchen is some empty space, and I’ve heard that you can park the Hape car there. The Haba vet car also fits, as we verified. I also think this space will be useful for storing dolls, laid flat. We don’t have any of the Hape dolls (again, yet—who knows?!), but we have many of the Haba Little Friends Dolls, hence purchasing this house. As with the pets mentioned above, Hape’s dolls (the wooden ones shown in the manufacturer’s photos) are also perfect for this house; we just happened to have the Haba ones already. I absolutely appreciate the ability to mix/match the two lines!Assembly was not difficult. If you’re not used to assembling wooden furniture, etc., it might not be easy or necessarily intuitive. However, if you look at the instructions beforehand and think it through, it’s no problem. From the time I cut open the box to the time I placed the last piece of furniture, it took about an hour. That includes unwrapped (items come bubble/tissue wrapped), studying the instructions, inventorying the pieces, and so on. I’m not very “handy,” so I took my time, to ensure I wouldn’t make a fatal mistake. Someone else could probably assemble it faster than I did, especially with a helper. My top pieces of advice for assembly are: 1) study the instructions first, 2) make sure you have all the pieces and lay them out orderly, 3) line up all the screws in the holes before tightening any on that side (because then you won’t have the problem of screws not fitting, due to misaligned holes), and 4) take the time you need to work comfortably and confidently.I cannot imagine that my daughter will not absolutely love this house, given all the anticipation and how absolutely wonderful it is. If it does disappoint her, I will update to add her comments. I also hope that I can get some better photos once the gift is actually given. Right now, it’s wedged in a corner of the basement, so I apologize if the photos are not clear enough to be helpful. In all, this is the dollhouse of dreams. Any little girl or boy would love it and get many years of enjoyment from it. It’s also definitely large enough and has enough access points that two children could easily play with it together. I’m so glad we purchased this, and I definitely recommend it. Thank you, Hape!

This is an awesome doll house! I can’t give it justice in a headline…
Both me and my two year old are thrilled with the Hape All Season Doll House. It is so fun, durable, colorful and fosters endless creativity. Honestly, I like this doll house so much that I almost want to buy another. For any girl or boy that doesn’t want a Victorian style dollhouse, this should absolutely be among your top considerations.Given that this has been a popular item on sahcreatives, I’d like to make a few comments that I haven’t seen in other reviews, and offer a couple counter points to criticisms I’ve read that made me cross my fingers when I first ordered this.1) The quality of the wood and wood furniture is great. Some of the seams don’t come together perfectly, similar to how a prefabricated picture frame doesn’t often come perfectly together in all four corners, but nonetheless it looks awesome. Definitely maintains a high end look and feel relative to many plastic and even other wooden doll houses I’ve come across.2) It’s *super* easy to assemble! This is what had me worried a bit when I first bought it, and perhaps Hape has made some revisions to the assembly since the product first was introduced on sahcreatives, but it took me 10 minutes to assemble and all the parts to put it together are included. No drilling necessary as some others indicated!3) The *two* ladders are awesome, and one has a slide on half of it! My daugheter loves to send her baby Calico Critter Cats down the slide between floors. She also noticed right away that there aren’t stairs between each floor, but it they did this the middle would be so cluttered that you’d have a hard time moving about between the rooms. The ladders are mobile and easy to move from one floor to the next, or you can simply jump from room to room.4) The open design is very conducive to play. The rooms are big and there is more than enough room to accommodate the furniture plus whatever dolls/critters you may have about the house5) The furniture on the box isn’t necessarily what is in the box. Plus, the box shows furniture in all rooms, but only 4 rooms are pre-furnished (which is very clear on the box). The quality is outstanding. Awesome! And many of the cupboards open and shut, which is great fun. Our set included:**Bedroom set: bed, dresser, small chair, mirror, lamp, floor mat, beddings and two pillows**Bathroom set: toilet, shower, bathtub, floormat, wooden ducky, towels**Kitchen set: oven/range, coffee maker and pot, pot with lid, sink, towels, table (but no chairs), fridge**Living room set: plant, lamp, TV, fireplace, couch, loveseat, coffee table, pillowsHaving two spares rooms is also very good in my opinion. My daughter keeps her cars and airplanes on the ground floor.6) If you or your young one like to have non-traditional dolls (i.e., not human form) this set is great to work with all the Slyvanian Family or Calico Critters sets.7) The roof is removable. It doesn’t screw or bolt down, but rather sets on pegs at an angle. It is very sturdy, and makes it easy to remove if you want extra movability in the top floors. Also, you can change the seasons of the roof from summer to winter theme. I don’t think the reverse of the green roof is shown on the box, but can be flipped to a white/blue winter style. The only things to be careful of is (1) the style and large size of this doll house may make it tempting for a little one to scale the building like a ladder! The floors are constructed well, but surely wouldn’t support the weight of a kid; and (2) there may be a very small split piece of wood here or there around where the holes were drilled for the screw assemblage, thus creating the risk of a child getting a sliver if they handle the wood frame a lot. You may need to use a fine sand paper or just remove any small splits.Again, this is such a cool doll house regardless of the price, and when considering the price it’s truly a tremendous value relative to just about anything else I’ve seen. I really like the Calico Critters dolls for my daughter, but their doll houses, furniture, etc. are wildly expensive, plastic, small, and (in my opinion) cheap looking–having this for furniture and a larger, classier style home is a perfect combination (that will save you a ton of money!). Hape doll house isn’t overly girly and promotes fun and play–I am sure many boys would like this too…I could see Cobras on one side and G.I. Joes on the other!Hope this review is helpful to one of you out there.

Superb quality
What a bewildering surprise at this point to see something so beautiful, affordable and well-made on sahcreatives. (It’s even dropped in price since I bought it over a year ago.)BTW, the scale is 100 percent perfect with the whole Playmobil multiverse and products like Hotwheels (as well as Lego people, to some extent). Our playhouse thus has a helicopter on top, a rooftop garden, food in the kitchen, pets, etc.Buy this thing, y’all. It’s GREAT. I like it even more than my kids do, and I say this as a design nerd.

It’s an okay and attractive first dollhouse
This dollhouse is attractive enough to leave out in your living room and is a good first dollhouse for toddlers. It’s not the most sturdy construction and wobbles quite a bit, you will have to add rubber feet to it. Also, the floors and walls are made of particle board so any enthusiastic play will make a hollow sound that isn’t the most pleasant thing in the world. Also, because of how it’s constructed it’s hard to access all the rooms and the stairs fall off all the time. In the end I don’t regret getting it since it’s a good price but not sure it’s going to last in terms of capturing my kid’s imagination.

This is the perfect dollhouse!
This dollhouse was easy to put together and is very sturdy. It came with plain furniture, which we loved because our daughter can use it with other small characters that she has. Our daughter loves the Gabby’s dollhouse characters, but we decided against the Gabby’s dollhouse and opted for this better reviewed and sturdier option. She can still use her Gabby’s dollhouse figures and her favorite princess figures with this dollhouse. And she loves setting up the furniture and moving around her figures into different rooms. This is the perfect gift if you want a sturdy dollhouse that isn’t associated with any characters (like Barbie or Gabby’s dollhouse). But it is still perfect to use with your child’s favorite characters.

The quality needs to be checked
Not overly in love with it but the holes that were built into it as you see in the pictures they don’t line up to the holes that are holding them together with the rods. That all came pre-packaged also some of the pieces are chipped and cracked like the front door is the little garden paint on the front next to the door is all messed up. in the picture you can see that and then as well as the little nobbies on top are just super glued I don’t know how that well it’s going to hold up to both of my kids because they are toddlers. and as you saw the bottom the very bottom plank board is has a corner that’s chipped I put it in and you can’t tell that it’s chips when I actually built the house. but still I wasn’t happy with that quality for paying over $100 for a dollhouse I expected it to come like absolutely wonderful and I was kind of irritated that some of the pieces don’t line up correctly the paint job is not how I would have liked it but you know what it’s fine they won’t notice it but I will and that’s where it lost the one star. overall I like it I think my kids will like it I’m going to buy the firehouse to go with it and get that ready for Christmas as well. I enjoy hape products and I do own several of their other products and it’s not like I won’t buy them again it’s just some of their quality just needs to be checked I love that they’re all wood and they normally are durable so we’ll see how long he’s last.

DON’T WORRY!! FANTASTIC PRODUCT!!
SOOO happy that I chose Hape. I was considering the Melissa and Doug, but based off of the surprisingly high number of negative reviews, I decided to go with the Hape (which had not as many negative reviews). As soon as I got it today, I quickly wanted to open it and put it together so I did not make the mistake of so many others. Give myself a week before her party to find any problems and come up with plan B. NOT NECESSARY with my purchase.Disclaimer: All of my parts were included and in one piece without damage. I can understand negative reviews for that, but not for difficulty building it. My 7 year old and I were able to complete it in less than 45 minutes.Super helpful trick: I took the hex wrench that was included, cut off the short end and made a drill bit to be used in my DeWalt 18v drill/driver. Cut building time in half at least. Set it on torque setting 1 and did not go all the way on any of my screws until the very end. Once all screws were in and aligned, I set the torque to 3 and finished drilling each screw in.As another reviewer noted, Hape is German company, but the outside box that it came in AND the actual toy box were clearly marked “Made in China”. See pics. below.Construction is solid. The floors are pretty slim, but sturdy enough. Pretty stiff, about 1/4″ thick. Could they have made it 1/2″, probably, but it will be fine as long as they done decide to pull it out and use it as karate practice. With a 7 year old son (who helped build – but is also a lego genius) and a to be 3 year old daughter, I have put together my fair share of toys. I also consider myself to be a little bit of a handyman. Construction was straight forward, make sure when you are putting in the 12 cross beams that you make sure the slots all line up and you will be fine.If you got all the pieces and they were not broken, construction is a snap, unless you are one of the less incompetent other buyers.SUPER CUTE, can’t wait for my daughter to open it!!

Love it!
The media could not be loaded.
Only took about 30 minutes to assemble and pretty sturdy. Got it on sale for about $125 with accessories. The pictures are kind of deceiving though. It doesn’t come with the kids bunk bed set, baby room set or the kitchen table. So I purchased those separately along with pretend people. My 4 year old will love this and I know my 6 year old will too! I’d say this is the perfect set for 3-7 year olds.

Look no further
My 2 year old daughter is sleeping right now but I just can’t wait for her nap to be over. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy the plastic house. While the other one may look fancy this one makes you giggle on the inside because it is so open and bright and you can see all of the rooms from all angles. To address the negative comments. Yes, I will have to re-glue the stairs they were falling apart from the start and if that doesn’t work I will be calling mellisa and Doug, but I suspect I will manage. Also, there were two visible imperfections on the wood where the wood chipped away, I am planning to sand it down so there will be no splinters. Finally, the right bottom wooden part doesn’t align properly and if you have wooden floor it may wobble a bit. But that can be resolved with putting folded towel under. This comes with a shower, bathtub, cute wooden rubber duckie, toilet, and a bathroom sink with a mirror. Then kitchen comes with fridge, stove with cute pot and pen and kitten mixer, and a kitchen cabinet with sink.Bedroom and the living room full of tiny details such as lamps and pillows that you can move, and drawers that can be taken out and mirror that reflects your image. We also got the kids bedroom set that can be both kids and baby room, and have a hape car, which is very nice also. Wish the quality was a tad better of the house wooden materials. The little furniture pieces are vey good quality however and super cute. I imagine this house lasting 10 years in spite the soft wood used. I think structurally it is very sturdy overall. And it would take an adult throwing it on the street from the second floor for it to be possibly broken depending on how it lands. Awesome purchase and would buy again. Would give it five stars if it didn’t have any problems.

Sturdy, good quality
Good solid wood construction. My two and 4 year old girls have played with it for several days now, and its stood up well so far, no destruction! The floors are thin sheet of wood, but plenty sturdy for playing. The frame and roof are thick and sturdy solid wood. The balcony isn’t secured, just levers on, but that allows you to put a balcony on any floor. There are some small pieces (a little ducky for the bathroom and little jar for the bedroom) which are choking hazards for little littles, we just took those away and my 2 year old has been fine with the rest of it. We also got the Hape dolls to go with it – girls have had a blast. Furniture is just right for the dolls. The open sides on the dollhouse are good for access, especially when multiple children are playing. It took me and my husband about a half hour to put together on Christmas eve. I also like the way the roof is designed, with a handle on top to pick up the whole thing and move it. Would totally buy this again.

My girls love this dollhouse, assembly was a little frustrating
I wanted to get a high-quality wooden dollhouse for my girls, age 2.5 and almost 4. For the most part, this dollhouse fits the bill. Most importantly, my girls absolutely love it.I was a little disappointed to find the little bed cracked in half when I opened up the packaging, but it was easy enough to fix with wood glue and hasn’t broken since. I didn’t bother contacting customer service to order a replacement. Assembly was frustrating, due to one of the screw holes being slightly out of place, so that the floor and wall pieces wouldn’t line up properly in several places. However, the whole thing did come together, and it looks adorable. The house comes with a lot of furniture, but not all of the pieces shown on the box. We are adding different furniture sets to my 4-year-old’s birthday wishlist. I ordered the Caucasian family to go along with the house, and I’m considering ordering some different ethnicities just to add to the play possibilities and introduce some diversity. My girls also have several other small dolls and toys (Little People, animal characters from a bristle blocks set, etc) that work well with the dimensions of this dollhouse and its furniture. The removable/reversible roof panels are a nice feature. I’m not sure what’s the intended purpose of the pulley hanging from the peak of the ceiling (light fixture?), but my girls love to play with it and have the characters swing from it and fly.Overall, this has been such a hit with my kids, and all their friends who come over (boys, too), that I would recommend it. This is one of the few toys they really will entertain themselves with for hours, throughout the day. The price seems fairly reasonable–I would say very reasonable were it not for the few design flaws.

I searched for quite a bit for a smaller wooden dollhouse that would fit into a cupboard we have and this was absolutely perfect. It’s super easy to assemble and it works great with Maileg Mice. Really good price for the house and furniture really happy with this purchase.

Good for the time being
Assembly was easy. Do not go HAM screwing everything in you will strip holes like I did. Some of the finishes leave something to be desired, but the kids don’t notice it.Proportions are a bit off, huge door and small rooms.Furniture is detailed, even includes bedding and wash cloths.

BUY THE HOUSE!
We LOVE this house! I don’t normally write reviews, but 5 months in, we still love it SO much, so I wanted to put it out there. We purchased multiple “room sets” outside of what was included with the house, so I recommend doing that; as it fills the entire house. We also bought the Hape family separate. In addition to the extra accessories, my husband built a simple wood platform to raise it up for the kids and its perfect. Setting it on a table would work, but our stand is better, in my opinion. The ONLY con, is that the balcony fits a little loose. This is easy “fixed” though, by wedging a small piece of wood or folded up paper in the gap between the balcony piece and the house frame. We thought about gluing it to keep it steady, but I wanted the kids to be able to move it if they choose.Anyways, great playhouse, hours and HOURS of fun!!

Beautiful, simple, sturdy wood dollhouse
I bought this dollhouse for my almost 3-year-old, and it has been a huge hit. Compared to the dollhouses of my youth, it was a breeze to put together. The rooms are spacious and easily accessed from 3 sides. The dollhouse is simple enough in its design to not be visually overwhelming, and while some rooms have a printed wall or floor to suggest the room’s intended use, it still feels very open-ended. I purchased the house with furniture, and I couldn’t be happier with that decision. Not only did it save a bundle on buying everything separately, the furniture is more “functional” than I thought it would be, with so many pieces having movable parts (and dolls can get into the bedding, sleeping bag style), which I think is really cool. I LOVE the reversible roof that can change with the season and the movable stairs. These are small details that add so much value, in my opinion. The area under the “kitchen”, where the shrubs are painted, is awkward and unusable for furniture or doll play, but as others have suggested it seems like it would be a great place to store a car. This dollhouse would be perfect for a boy or a girl, and I expect we will get many years use out of it!Side note: We are using a Calico Critters family with this house (furnished house does not include people), and the dolls fit perfectly on all the furniture.
