Great, large solid desk
After recently moving I decided NOT to buy veneered furniture any longer if possible. I needed a 5 ft desk for my 3 ft monitor and a large workspace. This desk is solid wood, stained in a walnut finish, and comes almost completely in 1 (albeit heavy) piece. 2 legs are already connected together and with 7 screws in each set of legs the table is together, it took less than 10 minutes. Do NOT attempt to turn this desk over alone, it is impossible and you may break the legs trying. It came packaged well and there were no problems unpacking it, however, there is LOTS of cardboard and packing material left over when totally unpacked. The wood is smooth to the touch, and the walnut finish even and handsome. I was surprised however at the shallowness of the drawers, they are only 2.5 inches deep. This is a great solid and beautiful desk and should last forever. I highly recommend it.

Seemed beautiful, arrived with broken legs
Office desk. Arrived with both legs broken across the top bar. Can’t understand how it was packaged so poorly and how in the world it was made so flimsy to hold the weight of a desk with drawers. 4 month wait for a replacement.

Arrived Damaged
Arrived damaged in two visible places… crack straight through the base of the side wood. The manufacturer seem to have an issue with properly packaging and shipping this product. Unfortunate because I have other pieces from this furniture line and they are great.

Solid Wood, Quick Assembly!
It’s a truly beautiful, stylish piece and it’s solid wood – not particle board! The assembly was super fast and easy; this thing comes with just three pieces to put together, not 50,000. Be advised though, it is HEAVY. You will need two people who are capable of bringing the box into your home and maneuvering the desk after install. I should also mention that I was worried that the finish would be destroyed since the box itself and underlying styrofoam arrived completely split down the middle, but it did its job and everything looks good. There is a small smudge on the front drawer (looks like someone touched it while the stain was curing) but you can barely tell because the desk overall is just so nice. Great purchase! Get it – just make sure you have a buddy to help you move it around.

Rough + Ragged, Overpriced, but the Perfect Design – Simpli-Home Harper
What drew me to this desk in particular was three-fold: the Mid-Century Modern design in solid wood, the dimensions (60″ wide + slightly deeper than your standard computer desk), and the keyboard tray. What I find troubling about this desk is the quality for the price. Now, I got this on sale for well over half off at only $400, but that seems like it should be closer to the regular MSRP and not $870. For that price I could have gotten a nice quality MCM desk from West Elm, albeit without the very useful keyboard tray. The solid wood is definitely on the low end of the spectrum of quality in terms of solid wood. There are plenty of places on the exterior of the desk sides that are not sanded smooth, much less finished with lacquer. Speaking of lacquer, upon arrival it had an awful chemical stench (it must have gone straight to packaging before having a chance to air out), but that has since gone away. The bottoms of the drawers are so thin you could easily punch through it with little force, but they are so shallow that you probably will not be putting anything that heavy in them. One of the leg assemblies arrived cracked, split right down the middle. While SH does offer easy replacement parts, we were informed that they had no stock at the time, so our replacement request is on backorder. Fair enough. Luckily the leg assemblies can be installed on either side, so it is facing a wall for now. With that out of the way, as an MSRP of $870 is alarming for the issues I’ve found, if you can get this on a good sale you will be satisfied immensely compared to some of those $200 MDF desks that serve only as a form of transportation from factory to landfill. Despite the issues, this is definitely not one of those. The best part about this I’ve found is the keyboard tray. It is wide enough to fit a full-size keyboard and standard mousepad across. Unlike the drawers, the keyboard tray is nice and solid. It is also quite deep, so I can move the keyboard back and place a desktop HOTAS setup in front reasonably well enough.Exquisite cable management is important to me, and while this desk values looks over computer-features such as holes and cable channels (and I appreciate that), there is enough space inset on the inner-backside of the desk to attach power strips with some adhesive and route all your cables. I even have routed the cables for VR base-stations through the drawers, so I can keep them out of sight when I do not want to use them, but still allowing me to assemble them quickly, even while seated. One last thing to mention, as this is probably not aimed at the demographic intending to use it, but it is impossible to apply any sort of clamps to this desk. The thing is just too thick! Don’t expect to be able to use a mic boom or HOTAS mount or any sort of clamping device with this desk unless it is one you can mount by drilling. There is still enough room below it to fit a full-tower PC case, however.

love the style – arrived damaged inside box
I love the clean lines and style of this white modern desk. It arrived with the box intact. The middle drawer on the inside was broken off and under the inside packaging. It almost looked like it was packed that way! My options were to send it back for full refund, try again with an exchange, or take $125 off. We chose the $125 credit. I’m hoping my friend can fix the drop-down drawer for me. There is a small indentation on the top from where the broken drawer was resting. For the price I wish I didn’t have to go through the hassle of returning or repairing. It was $100 less than from Overstock. I think I will add a glass top to protect the top.

Really loving this desk
OK, I typically do not take the time to write a review unless I am really impressed or really pissed. It came with 3 parts to assemble:1) The main desk and drawers (all one piece and preassembled).2) Both legs that came with 4 straight screws further secured by 3 wood screws for each leg.I had it assembled in about 30 minutes and it is a solid piece of furniture. I can tell if a piece of furniture is flimsy when you first pick it up. Look at the weight of this thing. It’s solid wood not flimsy crap. I weigh 210lbs and could if I wanted to stand on it. The finish is beautiful and got actually more than I was expecting. The (spare parts) bag was an extra plus. Who does that any more? We’ve all been there when you lose a screw, washer etc… I didn’t need a manual to put it together. It was pretty self explanatory when you looked at the screws and bolts to just put the legs on. I am really impressed and happy with what I paid for this desk. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.

Beautiful table – TERRIBLY unsturdy (wobbles and shakes..and no its not my floor or assembly)
Table arrived in good condition (mostly). There was no shipping damage as far as I can tell but the center pullout/fold down drawer was pushed in and angled. I had to give it a hard tap to dislodge it. Both the left and right magnets were broken and sheered from the screws. I will have to go to the hardware store to fix this, not a huge issue, but should not be an issue in the first place. The style and finish of the table is wonderful. I love the width and the drawers. The drawers are a bit shallow and the side/back wall height could have been taller to keep things from spilling out.For the most part the above mentioned would be a 4.5 star imo. HOWEVER here is my primary issue: The desk is very wobbly/shaky. It is sitting firmly on the floor (so its not a leg issue) and both legs are screwed in until tight (not over tight). Typing lone shakes the desk enough to make my monitor wobble. The side to side sturdiness of the table seems fine, but the front to back is terrible. I have been trying to figure out all day how to brace the table (packing materials already thrown away…so I have to keep this table). I have considered cutting the legs off and making a pipe leg set up. I have considered calling a carpenter to make a house call and determine how to fix the table. Its extremely annoying. The lightest bump against the table (I mean the LIGHTEST) will cause it to wobble/shake back and forth like it is in an earthquake.I might have to mount my monitor to the wall (benq 27″ – 600 bucks) so I can work without seeing the monitor shake. It is extremely annoying, even typing this review the monitor is wobbling up and down.I hate to write this review because I love the style and how the desk looks in the room, but the lack of sturdiness in this table is heartbreaking.

Perfect for my Diva Den
I was concernd about how much assembly would be required but the desk part came as one unit with hardware for drawers already installed and drawers assembled. Just the legs needed to be attached, which my hubby did. The box is heavy and WILL require 2 people. I’m buying a large desk pad to go on top because I don’t like a slick, hard surface. Am looking forward to getting my home office/Diva Den all set up with this desk as the focal point.

Very happy – great looking desk
The box arrived a little damaged but the desk was not. Packaging is 1/4 inch foam which really is not sufficient for the weight. I assembled myself without problems. I did order a clear plastic pad to protect the desk as I am a little hard on things. Love it

Arrived broken
The desk arrived in a box that was obviously pretty damaged, but we accepted it hoping for the best. The internal packing was not as robust as needed for such a heavy object. The two legs on each end are attached to a cross-piece and on one leg on each end the wood was broken through the corner at the top of the leg. One break extended down the leg about 8″. Sent it back and SAH Creatives was very good about helping us get it returned promptly. It looks like a nice piece of furniture.

Nice and sturdy desk.
This desk fits in my small room perfectly,.The color goes with the bookcase I have and it has a nice large surface for writing or sorting papers. Delivery was speedy and it’s a very solid unit. It was too heavy for me to deal with but the handyman a hired he had it together in about 10 minutes. My tip is to take the drawers out before moving it and adding the legs.

great style but dented, scratched and knicked.
I don’t like received damaged furniture. It’s obvious that someone was careless and now since SAH Creatives’s policy is return or replace, I have to go through that hassle or live with it. Otherwise, this is a good looking desk.

Paint is delicate and easy to scratch
I like the looks of the desk in general, it was very easy to assemble so you don’t need an expert. I was thinking the finish of the paint would be more laquer but is a matte finish and it scratches very easy. Pictures were taken the next day after we got it.

Beautiful but damaged
The desk looks amazing, is super easy to install, and it’s also really sturdy. This isn’t a cheaply made desk and it is very heavy, too. However, it did arrive damaged. I can’t really tell if it was damaged before delivery or not, but it really takes away from the beauty of it since it’s right in the front of the desk in an easy to spot location. For the price, though, it should have better protective packaging. Either way, I did love the desk and desperately needed it and I didn’t want to go through a return process or exchange just to have the next piece be damaged as well. If you wanna play Russian roulette on whether or not it comes in slightly damaged or don’t mind a small dent I saw go for it because the desk is really neat and beautiful.

Arrived damaged
Unfortunately we are past the return date we bought this for our house we were building. We bought this a few months in advance of moving and by the time we brought it to our new house and assembled it we noticed the damage. Both front corners are severely damaged & the top is lifting. It looks like someone tried to fix the cracks. It’s a complete eyesore and frustrates me every time I look at it. There was no damage to the box & it was kept in a climate controlled space. It was easy to assemble I just don’t think this product deserves any stars but I couldn’t submit without one.

Very poor manufacturer support re damage.
I only rated this 1 star because both desks we received were wrapped so poorly that they were damaged in shipping. This problem may be inevitable with this desk because it arrives in just one main piece with two leg attachments. The main piece is 5 feet long and very heavy so I suspect it is difficult for the delivery service to transport without damage. It was also difficult for us to get upstairs since it is much too big to fit in something like a shopping cart, and it is difficult to fit in an elevator. The first desk we ordered wasn’t wrapped in the middle, and the pull out keyboard tray was damaged. A part to hold on the leg was also missing. You cannot just order a keyboard and leg replacement from the manufacturer, you have to replace the whole desk. The desk we got to replace this desk was crushed on one end. After ordered the second desk and getting it damaged, we decided to give up. We don’t want to be handling yet another heavy, damaged desk. We won’t ever buy from Simpli Home again.
