Time consuming in a good way
I got this for my grandson (15 yo) for Christmas. (He gets a new and different one every year, progressively more complex). It’s February, and he’s still working on getting through it. Nice!

My teenagers stopped fighting!
We bought this for our, impossible to buy for, 14 year old. She worked on it for about 20 minutes before recruiting her 16 year old sister to help. I swear they haven’t gotten along for this long in YEARS! It’s an hour later and they’re still working on it together.

Disappointed much! – the item looks already used.
Very disappointing to see how wanky the packaging was. It seems as though the product is already used and now being sold as new!I bought this to present it as a gift to someone and I am actually ashamed to do so, as the box looks old and wanky like the item inside it.

Very cool but still kinda flawed
this thing is awesome and exactly the type of thing i was looking for for a present for someone but there are some issues with itmany of the pieces can bind when your trying to move them around so you have to be extra careful with them and without giving anything away the third section of the puzzle wasn’t laid out very well. i understood how the puzzle was supposed to be solved but i had to repeat the whole process 4 or 5 times because it was hard to make out which solution was meant to go where.I know theres another puzzle like this but i would definitely like to see this company make a whole line of these.

The product is good however took 2 months to arrive
It was a Christmas gift( ordered 5 of December) and it end up arriving on 17 of January. The product is awesome however the arriving time of the product moved 3 times. So if it is for a gift, do not buy it!

Great Puzzle Box
Passed this around with my board gaming friends and everyone enjoyed it. Note that someone with a reasonably logical mind can solve this in an hour or two. My advice is to slow down and enjoy the craftsmanship, mechanisms, and experience.

Perfectly challenging!
This was a truly engaging and fun experience. Perfect balance of ‘I’m frustrated… no wait! I got it!’ multiple times. And if you think the price is too much for an hour or two of fun- two thoughts:1- gift it to someone else once you solve it.2- just keep it for when you have family or friends over who like puzzles. It’s pretty fun (and funny and cringy) watching others try to solve it knowing the solution.5 doubloons for Davy Jones’s Locker!

LOVE these puzzle boxes!
I really love solving these wooden puzzle boxes. I think I’ve bought all of them by now. The price feels a bit high, but the details are so amazing, it’s worth it. It’s very satisfying when you finish it.

PERFECT gift for my bf
I bought this for my boyfriends birthday as he always loves a good problem to solve and he loved it! I went through all the iDventure products and this box seemed to have the reviews as the hardest to complete (which is good since we are both 20). It took him two days to open for a total of about 4 hours. I also was able to hide a little slip of paper in the final compartment with tickets for a boat rental. The iDeventure website does a great job at explaining how to dissemble and resemble the box in order to put a little gift inside of it. It is also allows for the gift to be used over and over again. The craftsmanship was very good and none of the pieces stuck or were difficult to get out. My only complaint was the the box came with a slight rip in it, but there was no damage to the actual product itself.I would totally recommend this as a gift, even for adults!

Coolest puzzle
Aesthetically pleasing, well constructed, and fun to solve! I do wish (and would be my only request), would be for a short novel be included with these puzzles. A story thatd help give hints on how to solve. Maybe one day!

Ultimate fun for an old sailor
I just finished this puzzle and I’m completely blown away. The craftsmanship was superb with all parts being perfectly cut and the laser engraving was clear and easy to read (but TINY!). I was able to solve this puzzle without any hints, but they are available on their website if you get stuck. Took right around 60 minutes. I loved it so much that I just backed their Kickstarter for the latest puzzle in their catalog. I watch Chris Ramsay on YouTube and he was spot on recommending this company for relatively affordable puzzle boxes. Definitely recommended for an old sailor or anyone who likes nautical themes!

Fun little puzzle
I purchased this as the container for a birthday present I’m going to give a friend. It’s quite a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but no big deal. The smaller side actually works out better for me.I really like the craftsmanship and artwork throughout the piece. It’s really nicely done.It took me quite some time to get it opened in attempting to do it without help. What I would call step three in the process isn’t mechanically difficult, but the deciphering is tedious and difficult to translate from the answers to the correct position one needs to have things in to get to the next stage. I didn’t need assistance in figuring out how to get to the deciphering, but I did eventually have to look up the ultimate answer for that part because the translation from answer to position was really difficult to read, especially if you didn’t have certain parts perfectly lined up — they were prone to distortion and incorrect answers.Once you know the answer, step three is pretty much instantaneous. It was a bit of a struggle for me to get back together on the first try, but I disassembled and reassembled a second time, and it only took a couple minutes once I had a better grasp of where things go and how they fit together.I look forward to receiving an angry profanity laced phone call from my friend when this arrives on their doorstep. Mwahahahahaha!!!!

Good, however-
This one was pretty fun to do, i actually was able to figure out the puzzles in the beginning after a while just by messing around with it. However, there is a consolation puzzle that involves figuring out the formation of the starts and using it as the combination. The problem is, the stars didnt line up correctly no matter what i did, i eventually went to the hints website to get the solution. You have to line up the paired figures on the side of the box to get the combo, but it just wasnt lining up right.

Really cool, but kinda short for the cost.
This thing is very cool, with a few puzzles to solve to fully open the box. However,I hoped it would take me a little longer. It only took me about 25-30 min to solve. I did have to grab a piece of paper to make note of a few things that required looking back and forth on different sections. I’ve played all four “Room” phone games which are very similar to this so maybe that helped me figure things out quickly. The craftmanship is very welly done and all of the pieces work pretty smoothly. Don’t ever force anything since its a little fragile.

Puzzle well spent!
This puzzle was so much fun! I’m a fan of Chris Ramsay on YouTube who solves puzzles like this, and he recommended this company and I’m glad I looked into them! Always a dream of mine to solve one’s bigger than this, but something small yet challenging like this puzzle box definitely sufficed!

Davy Jones Locker is a gret escape room puzzle.
This puzzle box was fun from the start. This puzzle and all the other four iDventure Puzzle boxes to be of great quality. The puzzle slider was a challenge to get the pieces in the proper order, and then again to extract the clues. The remaining puzzles were just as much fun. This puzzles that was difficult to reset by reversing your moves and the hidden compartment was small (-1 Star)

Great gift
I bought this for my brother as a birthday present. He absolutely loved it.It took us a few hours but we figured it out. I think it’s a perfect brain teaser and would def recommend. Beautifully crafted and honestly pretty difficult in my opinion. Prob wouldn’t be too too hard for someone who does these kinds of puzzles often. I don’t personally think any puzzle that you’ll likely only play once is worth 50 dollars but the quality was great and the puzzle aspect was very well thought out and intricate. Hope this helps

Intricate craftsmanship and a small challenge
Coming from escape room games such as The Room and House Da Vinci, the price tag feels high. Of course, the puzzle can be reassembled and is a fine product of wood craftsmanship, so in that regard it could be justified. A great conversation piece or something to do with a date.Puzzle arrived in a cardboard box, which may be easily torn if one is not careful removing the puzzle. Puzzle arrives unsolved, and must be solved in order to hide a gift or object. The compartment size is in the product description.Reassembly is easy, but suggest taking notes—on removing a part, some of the sliding pieces may move with gravity; you will have to “solve” that part again in order to put a removed part back.

Bit lost at first but once I got going, I couldn’t put it down.
Got this as a graduation gift. I’m not an expert puzzle solver but I like a good challenge now and again. I was a bit lost at the start, not entirely sure what section to begin on. I can definitely see impatience people not enjoying this at the start as even I got a bit frustrated with its lack of starting point. However, once I figured out the first steps, I couldn’t put this puzzle down as my smile progressively got wider with each breakthrough. It took me about 2 hours from start to finish and was tougher than I expected. I’m sad to say the replay ability of it is low for myself though seeing my friends struggle with it is very fun. Furthermore, the intercompartment is roomy enough to store smaller items. Finally, the craftmanship of it is interesting to explore though the piece isn’t built of the strongest material so its important to be gentle with it. I full heartedly recommend this to anyone who wants a fun, creative, and unique puzzle to test their mind against.

Really Fun and Engaging, solid buy
Don’t hesitate to purchase. I thought it was going to be a simple cheap wood puzzle, but didn’t realize that it was constructed really well and was far more fun and engaging to solve than I expected.

Amazingly fun
Took about 75 mins to complete on my own and I enjoyed every minute of it. Once you complete the puzzle, you won’t want to replay it (as you know the solution), but it can easily be reused by another family member or friend, or simply be regifted. Its made out of wood and is high quality, so its easy to take apart and reassemble for repeated use.

Fun Adult Puzzle

Tiny tiny
Look at the dimensions. This is way smaller than I expected. My son (who is 21) has always loved puzzles like this so I ordered this for him for Christmas. I am disappointed in the size, I think it’s a little overpriced for what it is.
