Nice looking chair but cheap base
I purchased this produce because I need a desk chair for my roll top desk. The seat itself is nice but the brown pad is almost purple in the daylight. Chair top assembled fairly easily but the screw heads strip super easy when you tighten them with Allen key provided. The base is a metal frame with wood decoration around it. I purchase another set of casters for it due to the flooring in my home and while you hit them in with a hammer and block of wood, per the instructions, one of the welds broke that hold the wood in place. as i installed the rest of the casters all the wood became loose.. The holes for the casters are super tight. Ill give it a try for 30 days and see what happens

Be wary
Chair rated for 200lbs. I’m 240lbs. Ordered aftermarket piston rated to 330lbs. Exactly the same as the one that came with the chair. No explanation offered by either party. Also – other than the piston being weak and collapsing, chair base collapses when you lean back as the chair’s base/bracket depresses the piston release. Fixed with Dremel cutting disk.

Looks Good, Minor Design Flaw
I’ve owned this chair for just over a year now, and like many people I’ve been working from home so it’s seen a good amount of use.Overall, it’s been decent. It assembled easily, and seemed solid. Looks good. However, after about six months, the screws that hold the arms to the back started to work loose. This wouldn’t be a huge issue normally, except that the manufacturer provides wooden plugs to hammer in that cover the screw heads. With these in, there’s no way to tighten the screws without removing the plugs, which will damage them. Hoping if I pre-drill a hole, I can sink a drywall screw into the plugs just a bit to give me something to grab onto with pliers. But it seems like I shouldn’t have to go through this for a year-old product.

A little disappointed
Right up front I’ll say I would not buy this again. It’s small for an office type chair. I’m 6’1″ and 205 lbs and the chair is almost unusable for me. It is too narrow and all around uncomfortable to sit in. It’s not as sturdy as I would have hoped for either. For the money I’m pretty disappointed. I bought the chair for my son to use for school and he refuses to use it, opting for his old broken down chair instead. It also isn’t very well balanced. It wobbles around and barely leans back. I’ve had less expensive chairs that were much better.

It’s actually easy to assemble….with a caveat…
Assembly went quickly and easily with the caveat of not tightening everything down as you go. Screw everything down about 9/10ths of the way and upon getting in the final screw, then go back and tighten everything down, it should work then. As to the complaints of many with the casters, alignment is key (I actually used the butt of a large screwdriver as a mallet and it worked quite well).Comfort – The padded seat isn’t as padded as I thought it would be but that’s easily solved with an after market seat pad.All in all, good value for money, so far. Time will tell as to durability.Time has told it’s tale of durability. Sadly, it’s not as durable as I hoped for. The assembly holding the main shaft has come apart and distorted. You can still sit on it but it wobbles wildly and I fear will eventually completely fail. Pity, as apart from this the chair has performed admirably. This may be due to my current weight, but this is still something that should have been allowed for in the design. Until this can be rectified, I have to drop my previous 5 stars down to 2.

Easy to assemble
All the parts were there. Don’t follow the order of assembly they list. Easiest to insert casters in base, attach spring mechanism to seat bottom, then install piston. Then attach the back and arms. Much easier. Only issue was finish was not properly sanded. Otherwise looks good.

Pretty good chair so far
Nice looking chair. The cushion is for looks only. Sitting ten hours at my desk is painful for bottom and back. I’ll be purchasing a separate cushion.Assembly was fairly easy. Had challenges getting the casters into the base. I wrapped them in microfiber cloth so I didn’t hurt my hand and got them on. Good news is, they won’t be falling out!The packaging screamed “Made in China”. I think monkeys were hired to package it. But no worries everything was there and the chair was undamaged. The hydraulic unit goes up and down ok but doesn’t lock although the lever indicates otherwise.I’ve only had this less than a week so I hope I don’t experience any problems with the casters since other owners have mentioned this.

Chair
So the chair wheel keeps falling off so there’s something wrong with one of the pieces on the bottom of the chair, so I called the 1-800 number and they told me to send an email, so they gave me an email and I sent that email two weeks ago? nobody has ever gotten back with me, so my review on this chair is not good I spent almost $200 on this chair and to not even get an answer back tells me they don’t warranty their product. I never give bad reviews.

Real wood furniture with some real world problems!
It’s a real solid wood chair–very nice looking. The castors were a challenge, but I got a wood block and a hammer and got them in finally! The rest of the assembly was standard, and it really is a quality piece of furniture. However, the first person who got my chair must have disagreed!Ha-ha! Luckily I am handy and every little splinter was there for me to glue the arms back together.I don’t think the chair should be resold with damage like this!

Positives and Negatives
Overall I love this chair. It’s really well constructed and super sturdy. I’ve had it for about a year now and use it full time. Only two issues; the seat cushion isn’t very cushiony and I really wish the arms were higher or adjustable. I had to add a little padding to the arms so my arms could actually rest on them. This chair really looks exactly like in the pic and was super easy to assemble. Overall, I recommend.

Great chair; not-so-great quality control
Love the chair, but when I was assembling it, the holes on the seat did not line up with the holes in the upright section of the arms. I’ve left it with only one of the screws on each arm and I think it will be fine. Based on others’ reviews, I bought a set of neoprene casters from Lifelong at the same time so was able to use those during assembly. The chair is comfortable, I love the height (and the ability to adjust it), and the Lifelong casters are a dream.

Casters are a weak point, but otherwise solid.
I am a large, heavy guy and a bit hard on furniture. I average going through two desk chairs per year, which is very annoying. It is difficult to find desk chairs that are built to last for a guy of my size. So, I finally decided to try a wooden chair instead of the typical large, heavily-upholstered chairs I have usually tried before. I thought the wood might be stronger and last longer, and so far it is doing fairly well for me. This chair is almost all wood and metal. The base is actually a metal frame with shaped pieces of wood over it.The only things that are not metal or wood are the seat pad and the casters. I believe there is a version with an all wood seat. Were I to buy it again, I would probably not buy the padded version. The seat pad is holding up well, but seems to be harder than my wooden kitchen chairs to sit in. (I bought a seat pillow for it and alternate with and without it.) As for the casters, they are plastic, and probably rated for fifty pounds apiece. As there are five of them, that might rate the chair for 250 pounds with person and chair. I weigh more than that alone. Three of the casters have broken. I went to a store and found metal casters that are rated for more than eighty pounds apiece and have been replacing them as they break. If you are anything near 250 pounds, I advise you take the caster to a hardware store and find some heavy-duty ones with the same stem type. Once the casters are in, they are very difficult to get out (even after they break), so I recommend you get the heavy-duty casters for initial assembly.Other than that, so far, so good. It is holding up better than my last few did.

These are good chairs, but there a few problems to overcome during assembly
We ordered 4 chairs for our casual dining table and are generally pleased with them.During the assembly of one chair, we discovered that the pre-drilled holes for the right armrest to be attached below the seat of that one chair were not properly aligned and we had to temporarily attche it to the chair with only one of the supplied screws. This can be easily repaired by drilling another pilot hole and inserting an inset washer to attach the other screw.Another chair’s seat pad upholstery wasn’t cut or attached properly and we will repairing that problem ourselves, too.Better inspection at the manufactuer would likely have detected the above issues. Also, it would’ve been helpful to have known in the product description that a small rubber mallet would be needed for easier installation of the castors.

QUALITY AND FINE WORKMANSHIP! A PLEASANT SURPRISE.
This chair is NOT your typically poor quality you might expect from the Pacific Rim. It appears to be made in Thailand and the wood is awesome; great quality and wonderful natural “fruit wood” color. Even the hex bolts and washers used to assemble it when you get it are top notch. Not the lousy metallurgy we often see with imports. EVERYTHING about this chair is quality. Everything. The first one that I got arrived with a broken arm. NOT the fault of the manufacturer; clearly the fault of a shipper dropping the box off a platform of some kind. So I sent it back for FREE and they sent me the new chair while the old one was in transit!Don’t be afraid of ordering this chair. My office is decorated out of the 1930s-1940s and this chair fits right in! AND its got the comfort and functionality I would expect of a wooden “bankers” desk chair. Finally some quality coming out of the Pacific Rim. Bravo.

Excellent Value and Very Well Built and Designed
This office chair is an outstanding value being well built and all parts assembling and fitting as designed according to the instructions. Only thing the went wrong in the assembly was my fault for not properly reading the instructions…I used a rubber mallet to tap on the wheels instead of using the included hardwood support block to tap on the wheel base, which was included. The only additional tool needed for assembly is a rubber mallet. An included Allen wrench is the only other tool needed; however, I used a Dremel metal cut-off blade to cur the long leg of the included Allen wrench and attached it to my Milwaukee 12vlT drill/screw driver at a med torque (8) to tighten all the Allen screws. If you cut the Allen wrench, you will need another same size Allen wrench to tighten the chair arm to the back rest so if you don’t have another Allen wrench, do not cut the included Allen wrench. Oh, and the chairs looks really nice and more expensive.

Great chair, not so good casters, but great Company customer service
I would give this the full five stars because I love this chair, but the casters are plastic and not the best quality. The chair is used in my home office and only gets low to moderate use. Also I am 5′ 2″ and weigh 125 lbs. Within two years of low to moderate use, two casters broke rendering the chair unusable. Nonetheless, I love the chair because the chair is well made, sturdy and is great if you have lower back issues. I contacted the company located in Ontario, California and explained the circumstances. They said that the casters did have a warranty – for one year. Well I have had the chair for two years. I explained that a chair as well made as this chair, used as little as I use it, and my weight not likely being a factor, I should not have two broken casters over two years. I asked if they would replace the casters at no cost to me. To my surprise the company stood behind their product and sent me the replacement casters. I was a little shocked but very happy they did. Frankly it restored my faith in customer service which seems to be so lacking today. I would not hesitate to purchase another product from this company as a result.

Excellent chairs.
A big “YES” to these chairs. I bought 4 for around my old oak kitchen table – so easy to glide in and out from the table. I did take the advice of another purchaser and did not use the casters that come with the chair….I ordered roller blade wheels (which are now offered with the chair) and I’m glad I did. They glide beautifully across the kitchen floor (I have been known to zoom around the kitchen a bit to grab something off of the counter), make no sound, and are certainly kind to my kitchen floor laminate…no scratches or stress marks. The chairs are comfortable, sturdy and are great for sitting around after a meal talking and visiting….no need to move on to another room right away. Also, when working on a project, it’s great to be able to raise the chair to a higher level to give a better angle.

Doesn’t fit with the desk it’s recommended for.
I purchased the Arts and Crafts Cottage Oak Executive Desk. This chair was pictured as a “frequently bought together” chair for the desk. I didn’t check the dimensions since it was recommended, but you can’t push it all the way in. It doesn’t fit under the desk; the arms are too high. Also, the color is fruitwood…very orange-y.We returned it.

IT’S ORANGE!!!!!!!!
Not too bad to assemble. It’s a very sturdy chair, and the look I wanted to go with antique furnishings..However it is ORANGE. I had to refinish a brand new chair, to make if half way acceptable, and too heavy to return, because it’ s very heavy. Not. real happy ,but it’s do-able. By the way did I mention it’s ORANGE

Attactive chair
The chair is very attractive and fit the decor of our family room very well. Assembly was easy for the most part with simple instructions. Plastic caps on screws a little less desireable than anticipated but otherwise it is fine. The only downside is that it is a HARD seat. The padding is pretty minimal so we have supplemented with a seat cushion.

Color discrepancy
The picture features a darker wood than the orangey color you will actually get, and the seat is a maroon red color. The wheels don’t roll smooth. The chair part seems really sturdy, so if it hadn’t been for the bait-and-switch, I would be keeping the chair. My boyfriend thought he’d surprise me by assembling the chair before I got home without realizing it was the wrong color, so i was informed by a customer service rep that i would have to disassemble it, box it up( in my case get a new box to box it up in since the delivery guy left this package uncovered in the rain so that the box disintegrated) and haul it’s heavy weight to a shipping site. Argh

I was pleasantly pleased with this chair. You know if you purchase a low cost wood chair you’re not getting top of the line. This chair looks really nice. Installation was easy. The only thing that was not consistent with the written instructions was that the casters were not pre-installed. But anyone with an install-brain could install the casters themselves.

An OK chair with a few flaws.
It’s a nice heavy piece of wood furniture. Quality OK, but not great. – One minor part (the decorative “bellows” over the gas cylinder) was missing. Not enough to justify a return, but I’ve written to OSP asking for the part, and will update this review when it shows up, or if it doesn’t. – The gas cylinder doesn’t attach to the base. It just slips into place. If you pick up the chair, it comes apart. That’s a bit lame.

It was a nice, sturdy chair, until it wasn’t
I bought this back in September of 2020, wanting something a little better than the normal cheap office chair you get at big box places. This matched my decor nicely, was very sturdy and I thought well-made, and up until a week ago, it was fine. Then it got real wobbly, and upon inspection, I noticed the metal of the thing that holds the seat to the base was cracked. It was used normally, certainly nothing was done that would warrant the metal breaking. I tried to see if I could contact the manufacturer or seller here, to no avail. I was hoping it was under warranty still, or at worst case, buy a replacement piece. Nice chair but know this is what happened to me.

Weird Color—Regret Purchasing
The chair is comfortable and sturdy, and I’m pleased with that part of it. But watch out and examine your wood choice carefully! The actual wood color is very weird—really orange-y. Very off putting and it does not match the online photo—or my desk at all, sadly. 😠😣🤨Unfortunately, a friend was assembling it in another room and I didn’t look at it until he was finished. I think I would’ve returned it immediately upon first opening the box if I’d seen the color before he started. Too late after the fact, so I’m stuck with it.

NOT COMFORTABLE AT ALL!
I had a really hard time getting one caster to go in, so I skipped it and assembled the rest of the chair. My brother was finally able to help me get the caster to go in. This chair is VERY UNCOMFORTABLE! I had to buy 2 extra thick cushions (one for the seat and one for my back) to be able to sit in this chair for longer than an hour. I had already disposed of the packaging so I was stuck with it. If the cushions had not worked I would be on the hunt for a new chair.

Caster Wheels are CHEAP!
Very heavy sturdy chair. BUT the caster wheels are very cheap and made out of brittle plastic. Following directions using the wooden block (provided) and a rubber mallet to place the caster wheels… three of the caster wheels broke. So now I’m going to purchase standard replacement casters from Home Depot because no one at OSP is answering their customer service line (are they even in business anymore?). I’d say despite being sturdy AVOID this chair and company.

Good wooden desk chair
We bought this chair to replace the one we had, which was quite creaky. Had no problem with installing the casters, although we replaced them with ones that were better for tile floors. It seems to be well constructed and creaks a bit but not as bad as the one we had before.

The chair itself sets nicely. However the casters are not made well
The chair itself sets nicely. However the casters are not made well. They will bend at the roller part and the base of the caster and eventually will break. My bent the very first time I rolled across the tile floor. I am NOT over weight so there was no reason it should have bent. Other than that we love our chairs. We bought two chairs. Please put better casters on the chairs and you will have a great product. And the casters will NOT be cheap having to replace 10 casters. OUCH!!I called the 800 number they going to send out new casters for both chairs. Thanks Joey from OSP.

Great chair, sturdy and elegant.
Very nice office chair. I wanted something that was unique and this was it. assembly was a bit more difficult given the type of wood and construction. I suggest not tightening the bolts on any of the connections until all the bolts in the chair have been started and threaded about halfway. Once assembled, it is VERY sturdy.
