Very cute!
I’ve had these on my wish list for quite a while, but waited till they went on sale. The housings for the animals and the animals themselves all seem very sturdy. The cute little food dishes are great, but the food is particularly tiny and I think I’m going to end up gluing it in place so the pieces don’t get lost. Overall very happy with quality.

Very small pieces
Very cute wooden set – however the food and pet bowls are extremely small – a little bigger than a dime. So close monitoring at all times. Age states 3 and up but the size of the pieces are still very tiny.

2.5 year old daughter loved them
Very cute and simple, just what we wanted. It comes with a few tiny pieces but they are foods for the pets to eat and not exactly necessary if it’s an issue. Each pet comes with a home and a bowl and a small food item, and it’s precious to see your child match food bowls to their beds and think about which food would be good for which pet. Overall, my daughter just asked for a simple tiny cat she could hold in her hand, and this ended up being a wonderful gift all around. It came quickly and packaged nicely so everything would arrive safely. Would recommend and have recommended it to friends already

Dismayed Grandmother
When I opened the box, I was originally excited! Cute pets, cute homes, cute food…then came the real surprise. I began reading the text on each pet’s home. Fido for the dog – cute!! “Rabbit” and “Cat” for the rabbit and cat?? What in the…? The inconsistency! The disappointment. A professional toy company naming one of three animals? How could I possibly expose my granddaughter to this? She might grow up thinking a dog is actually called a Fido, or that dogs are somehow more important than other animals. I’m shocked and disappointed that in 2023 Hape doesn’t have the sense or sensitivity to treat them equally. I will definitely be contacting the company and am just saddened that what should have been an adorable toy for my granddaughter has become a source of confusion and pain.

Great add on to All Season house
The All Season house was my 2.5 year old’s “big” Christmas present and we got the animal set for a stocking stuffer. Such a great little collection. All pieces are sturdy and no sign of paint chipping yet.

Wow, I am very happy with this product. Opened it up and all the pieces were there and intact, not a scratch or scuff on them. The paint was bright and colorful and the wooden craftsmanship of the items was sturdy, thick, and seemed very well made. The quality of it all is great value for price. The cat has a string tail and all the animals have a sort of fuzzy felt-like fabric ears which is a really nice, surprising small touch. The pen in the photo is for scale, the bowls and food items are pretty small so may be lost easily and I would caution removing them or parental supervision if you are giving it to a child that is still inclined to put things on their mouth. My kiddos are 20months and 3 years and while I haven’t given it to them yet I know they will absolutely love it. I am a huge fan of toys that stimulate imaginative play and lay groundwork for responsibility and caring for others/animals and this item scores on all those points. Feels like a solid, good old fashion toy and 10/10 would recommend. Very satisfied!

A fun complement to people dolls
I ordered this for grand/d’s 4 y/o birthday — to complement her people dolls of same scale (M&D).Her love of animals caused her to gravitate to them immediately. Each has a place/dish/food. Unfortunately, the bunny’s carrot was so small it was lost in an instant — but we made a replacement out of paper towel/markers.

Cute and a nice addition to our KidCraft doll house. The pieces are pretty small. The food for the pets is small so have to be careful with things going in the mouth of a Little. My 3.5 y/o loves them and played with them the minute we opened the box. Made out of wood. So far looking pretty sturdy but time will tell

Dollhouse not required to get hours of entertainment from this play set
This was a gift for my 2 year old daughter who loves independent, imaginative play. They pieces are small and wouldn’t be appropriate for a child who likes to put things into their mouths. My daughter is now 3 and still plays with this toy a few times a week. We keep all of the pieces in a small shoebox and she puts them all away when she is done playing with them. We have managed to not lose any of the pieces, but it would be very easy to do so- especially the fish and the bone. We don’t have the dollhouse that this set is supposed to go with, but it’s not necessary. This set on it’s own has provided hours of entertainment and imaginative play for my daughter. It’s very high quality and we love the details. Definitely recommend.

Precious, adorable little animals!
For my daughters fourth birthday we bought her a dollhouse. I found a family I loved, but I have an animal loving little girl so I looked everywhere and finally landed on this set and I’m so happy I did! It is definitely higher priced than others but the quality of hape is unmatched. Hape makes the most beautiful little toys that draw you in even as an adult.They had such cute little details for ears and faces, my daughter was just enchanted the moment she opened them! She has had them for over a month now and is pretty tough on her toys and they look brand new. I imagine we will still have these around when she has outgrown her dollhouse.

Adorable, Well Made
Just one tiny quibble with the manufacturer – as an early childhood educator, I love that the “home” for each animal is labeled, and that you can match a bowl color to each animal home color. But I wish the doghouse was labeled “Dog” instead of “Fido,” like the hutch is labeled “Rabbit” and the bed is labeled “Cat.”Set comes labeled with warning for small parts, and this should be heeded – the bowls and animal meals are very tiny and could easily be swallowed by a toddler.

I purchased this set because I was unhappy with the odd-smelling, painted, plastic figures that came with one of Fisher Price’s playsets. My animal-loving, two-year-old daughter LOVES these figures! They are so well made and work great with a variety of dollhouses (including Peppa Pig’s playhouse). I feel much better knowing she’s handling something that’s made with safe, eco-friendly materials and not squishy PVC. As other reviewers have stated, some of the accessories (including the “food”) are very small (we’re talking fingertip size), so I’ve made it a point to closely supervise my daughter (and dog, too) when this set is being used. I would absolutely purchase from Hape again!
