What a fantastic toy for little Thomas enthusiasts!
This has to be THE most creative toy for owners of the Thomas the Tank Engine collection. It not only features a very large play area but also has three very large drawers for storage of the many engines in one’s collection. I purchased this for my 2-1/2 year old grandson and he cannot stop loving it. It provides hours of fun for both of us (since there are small pieces I play with him so that I can supervise). The table is sturdy finished wood and features two play sides, one can be used as a surface for drawing, coloring and general play and the other side is for the railroad setup. It features a bridge, mountain waterfall, several characters, a police station, construction site, fire house and hospital with ambulance. It also features an airport with a really cool airplane that kids will absolutely enjoy!Assembly was relatively easy although I ran into snags with trying to keep the little Allen bolts from coming out while trying to put the screws in and holding up the boards. It took all over a little over an hour and a half (with 2 looooong breaks). With a second person in assistance, it shouldn’t take any more than 45 minutes. I was overjoyed to see my little guy’s face when he got his first glimpse of it! Since then, it is his favorite toy which provides many hours of play and fun for both of us. Additional parts cannot be purchased, only replaced if damaged or missing. I could have used two more railroad trendles when setting up the tracks on more than one level and this is what I was told by Kidkraft when I called. Shipping was relatively quick and was delivered by FedEx in good condition. Instructions were very easy to follow and made assembly very simple.Overall, this toy is well worth the investment and I’m sure that you and your little engineer will be absorbed into hours and hours of educational and stimulating play. I couldn’t be happier! Thanks, Kidkraft and sahcreatives!

**Read this before setup to save some time** Plus full review…
** I first want to point out something which will help you during setup, and caused me a little grief and time: the full train setup and the underlying “play board” have almost no relation to each other! (This will drive anyone with OCD tendencies insane). For example, the “waterfall mountain” is placed right over the road, the “road crossing” isn’t actually over a road, and the tracks end IN the water or ON the road (you can see this in the product image)! I’m not sure why they didn’t design the play board to correspond to the placement of the full track… puzzling.**Anyways, besides that, this is a nice train table overall – and definitely a good value for the money. You get a lot of nice pieces, with plenty of opportunity for creative play. It’s easy to put the table together, and it seems reasonably sturdy. There is actually more assembly required of the various track and town pieces, but it’s still not all that much. It’s nice that the storage is built in and tucked away underneath, too.I do have some concerns, though:• The track pieces don’t fit together very tightly, and the train is lightweight with plastic wheels, which together makes it rougher to “drive” the train around than it should be. A more expensive set would be better in this regard, I believe.• The graphics on the play board surface seem pretty delicate… like a shiny paper glued to the wood. I even nicked them up while setting up the pieces. I’m doubting it will hold up very well.• The waterfall mountain looks/feels very cheapo. I’m sure it will hold up fine, so just a cosmetic thing.I think that this is probably the best intersection of cost and quality available, though, so these few small concerns don’t outweigh the value of this set.Recommended.

Favorite train table!
We purchased this for our nephew and he is obsessed! I love the little buckets at the bottom to help keep things organized and off the floor but also keeps everything accessible to the child playing with the set!

Eh. It’s okay.
While you do get a lot of pieces in this set, and the table don’t expect perfection for the price. I guess it’s a fair PRICE for what you get, at least compared to something like Brio. Just know if you are looking for super quality and sturdiness this table isn’t for you. Also we bought a battery powered engine to move along the tracks, because the tracks don’t line up perfectly and as you can see in the picture have splinters as well, the battery powered engine is often derailed. Also even with the trains that came with the set going through the mountain is such a tight squeeze we actually had to prop it up another inch or two with other pieces. The plastic is warped on the crossing arms, some paint is not done correctly, and there was a little bit of damage to the table top. Also the buckets that are on the bottom don’t fill the entire gap so there is some weird spacing down there. And just so you know the structure itself is particleboard. Over all not hugely impressed.

Putting the table itself together was pretty easy and didn’t require any tools that didn’t come …
I ordered this as a lightning deal for Christmas for my 2 year old. I was very excited to put it together. We aren’t going to be home for Christmas so I set it up early before our annual Christmas party full of kids.Putting the table itself together was pretty easy and didn’t require any tools that didn’t come with the packaging. Putting together some of the other pieces that are part of the set (the heli-pad, bridge, etc.) required a phillips head screwdriver. The helipad did not go together correctly. Either the screws weren’t big enough or the holes were too big. We’ll have to replace with larger screws as it fell apart during the Christmas party. The bridge was missing a piece, though it doesn’t seem to affect function.I am most disappointed with how the track fits together. At least for the configuration pictured and the one that is in the instructions, I found more than one instance where the track was not snug and it was hard for the train to stay on the rails. I find the train cars pretty good, but they don’t take the curves well, and I don’t know if it’s a track issue, a train issue or if I’m expecting too much.I think it was worth the $99 I paid and I’m looking forward to trying different types of track and trains. We might also use the flip side of the top as a lego table, which could easily be done by leaving a space around the edges for the top to sit in the table and gluing lego boards on.

Not what I expected!!!
This is AMAZING quality for what I paid. My grandson plays with it constantly. Watch out there are a TON of accessories all made of a wood material. The tracks seem to be to much for for the surface area if it’s put together per instructions. There’s just not enough room for all of it. The underside is completely smooth and finished, so we glued large Lego plates on it so he can have a place to build. I dare say that it might also be a good place for Play Doh too. He’s climbed on it and I saw no bowing or bending. What I personally don’t like? The buckets underneath aren’t very deep and the angle they are at doesn’t keep much in them. I just got some small totes and slid them underneath, since it is light and moves easy. Would purchase again but I don’t think that is going to be necessary. Excellent product!!

A really awesome set for an awesome price
I wasn’t sure what I was going to get when I purchased this for $85. What I got was better than I expected. The table is very sturdy, and most of the city pieces as well as the train tracks and trains are made out of wood. You do have to do some assembly of some of the pieces of the city but all in all it took about an hour from opening the box to being fully assembled. My husband did have to take a finishing nail to tack down one of the boards of the table top as it had warped a little in shipping, but that took 2 seconds and you can’t even see the nail at all and the table top is perfectly flat now. This is a really awesome table and set for the price, my kids love it and I love that it is sturdy and wooden and will be around for a long time for my kids to play with. Couldn’t be happier with it.

Very sturdy and fun
Got this for my son for Christmas, he plays with it everyday. I was a little worried that it wouldn’t come with enough pieces, but I’m very happy that it did! Tons of tracks, trains, people and more! I’m happy I went with this one over the others.

Won’t fit Thomas perfectly! …but it is a lot of fun!!!
My 3 year old Thomas-addict got this for his birthday. We bought KidKraft Waterfall Mountain Train Set and Table that “fit” Thomas and we also bought Battery Powered Thomas (for Wooden Railway).Just 3 stars because even if it said tracks would fit Thomas Wooden Engines, this is not 100% true: the tracks won’t fit Thomas as advertised. Thomas don’t stay on these tracks well because Thomas is wider. Even the original cars derail sometimes, but Thomas derail all the time. Thomas is 1-2mm (millimeters) wider than the KidKraft tracks. It was very frustrating for my 3 year old, when he tried to fit Thomas for the first time.BUT…after few days my son understands Thomas need help and now he is happy to help Thomas and also he is now finally playing with other toys than Thomas as for instance the original cars that came with the set; of course those fit on the tracks better than Thomas, which is less frustrating.Anyway I am thinking to order Suretrack Clips to secure the tracks in sensible points and few curved, genuine Thomas tracks brand that will fit Thomas better(I hope!). Need advice!Overall the table & set were a hit! My son spend hours a day playing with them. The table came packed exceptionally well. Assembly was a breeze. This product – I paid ~$125 March 2011 – was an excellent value and I have not hesitated to reccomend it to others.(2 years later)This table is STILL my son’s favorite toy (after 2 years).Meanwhile we bought many other “friends” for Thomas – they fit well enough to provide hours of fun!The THOMAS that didn’t fit at first was a battery powered one that was supposed to go by itself – that train does have difficulties even on its own genuine Thomas tracks…I just wanted to give this table a 5 stars, now, after 2 years of heavy use!

Great table, but could be better.
Although this table is very cool, there are a few things that could make it better. First, a lot of the pieces you have to assemble should have already been assembled. And it has a gas station, that you have to put together, but when it’s together, it’s very wobbly and comes apart too easy. It will sway side to side, and if you pick it up, it will fall apart. It would have been better if they would have just glued the pieces together fully assembled. The tracks just sit on the table, there is no way to fix it in place. So if you bump the table or move it, it moves around. I like the storage bins, but the wooden rails that hold them in place are not that sturdy. If you put any other toys in the bins, your wooden rails will bow in the middle. Also, if the bins are too heavy (from toys), when the rails start bow, then the bins fall. Also, I was a little disappointed after paying that much, we are missing a piece. The red circle with the little peg on top didn’t make it with the rest of the shipment. I will have to contact them for that. Hopefully I won’t have to pay for shipment. But, my three year old son loves this set and has a lot of fun with it. He is really into trains, and is very excited over this table. I would have given this product five stars if it hadn’t been for the missing piece. Really is a nice table.

Great table for the price!
We bought this for Christmas for our 2.5 year old. Please be advised: it takes TIME to put together. My husband did it by himself on Christmas Eve, but it took a couple of hours. All the little pieces (trees, towers, bridges, etc.) all have to be screwed together. So plan ahead! Otherwise, we’re satisfied with this table. My only complaints are:1. The laminate covering on top of the train table (sticker that looks like grass and water, etc.) has already started to peel where the table meets in the middle. Easy fix with some glue or tape.2. The rails that support the bins that hold the pieces do not hold the bins if all pieces of the train table are in the bins. For the price though, this is pretty sturdy. It’s been moved, sat on, knocked into by our 65lb dog, things dropped on top of it, etc. Just be careful when assembling and make sure you carve out enough time to put it together!

Very easy to assemble.
I love the entire piece. Everyone on here is so dumbfounded by the angle of the bins. Do what I did. I instantly made them almost level and put two new holes in it. Big deal. Calm down

Fun Fun Fun!
My 2 year old twins that love this train set! There are a lot of pieces, initially we only put part of the set out and plan on deploying the rest over time. I see a lot of folks that have glued it down which will make sense later but again for simplicity an oval is working out just fine.Pros:Easy to assembleChose this over the trundle version because the drawer looked like a bearAll the pieces were there – and then someCons:Shipping was slowOne edge is delaminating, but a touch of glue fixed it upTrains are kinda rough. We ordered some Orbrium trains that roll a touch smootherUpdate 9/6/17This train set gets at least 2 hours a day and we have not glued anything down yet. The boys are starting to hook up their own track sections so that may not happen. The laminate on the table map area is starting to peel, but these boys are beating the crap out of it. We had an initial break down when there was too much on the table so slowly cycle features on and off of it. Still sticking to my 4 stars.

Toddler loves it
Purchased for 2 year olds birthday. Was at an awesome price after researching other tables. He loves bridges and hills and this one has 2 so it was perfect!Pros: Comes with lots of parts – train, trucks, airplane, helicopter, cars, etc. There are also trees, cargo, cones, train lights, people, etc. Lots of things for him to enjoy right now and lots of smaller parts to save for when he’s a little older. Some of the cargo is designed to be stacked on the train so it enhances motor skills. The storage bins are perfect.Cons: The train gets stuck in the tunnel and then the track comes apart when we try to fix it. We will probably need to glue it down. Every piece has a sticker and they leave a residue. One of the pieces that needs to be screwed was missing a screw hole. Paint seems to chip fairly easily. One of bottom pieces for the table was cracked. Another piece was chipped. But for such an awesome price, I cannot really complain. I know my son will beat it up so I’m okay that it didn’t arrive perfect. I would definitely recommend gluing down the track, but not the extra pieces or buildings (so children can move them around and play).

Awesome train table, built to last.
Overall: This is a good quality table that has everything you need and will provide hours of fun!My husband and I bought this as a Christmas present for our 1.5 year old son. He can’t get enough of it, it is actually hard to pull him away long enough to make him eat lunch. He loves his “choo-choo” table. I have watched him create his own little world on this table and I know that this is good for his learning and development which makes me a very happy mama.I really appreciate that it was very easy to put together; it took me (I mean Santa) just over 20 minutes to put together. The buckets underneath are great for storing the extra pieces that he does not need yet at this age. He is younger than the suggested age for this table so I made sure to take out the smaller pieces. I can tell this table is sturdy and durable and will last for many years (and siblings). The whole set is a great value. It was nice not to have to go shopping for trains and tracks that would fit with the table. We do have some Thomas train that fit on these tracks (others do not) but he is very happy playing with the train that came with the set.We highly recommend this train table, our son is very happy with it.

Multiple damages
My son does love the table. He doesn’t notice the damages. But there are several parts broken one being on the table frame itself. Quality is not great but price was decent for what you get.

Great Product, Great Company
We recently purchased this set and put it together for our son’s 2nd birthday. Initially I was very impressed by the quality of materials. The table feels very sturdy and the instructions were easy to follow. It also comes with tons of accessories that will keep the kids busy for hours. Although the box was packaged great, upon opening we found that one of the support legs was damaged. We were still able to put the table together but decided to reach out to KidKraft customer service for a replacement part (we didn’t want to return the entire table.) The replacement parts process is phenomenal. After sending an email to customer service I received a helpful article (within 12 hours) that told me how to submit a parts request. I was able to input my information, select the exact part I needed, and place the order for the replacement at $0. I was beyond impressed with how hassle-free this process was (especially since I expected it to be a huge headache.) It is great to purchase from a company that stands by it’s products and makes the shopping experience painless. I will absolutely be purchasing form this company again in the future.

Keeps toddlers busy for long time
The entire u it was easy to assemble. I took 1 star away only because the individual pieces can be more sturdy. They are light in weight so gets away very easily. But overall with so many pieces to play with kids remain busy for a long time. It is one of the favorite toy of my boys.

A toddler must have!
Item was delivered quickly, in prestine condition out of the box and assembly was straightforward and fairly easy.We did note some complaints about the time it took to put the accessories together, but honestly it took me (not a handy person by any means) 48 mins to get it all done.Husband got the table done in like 20 or so minutes so it was a win all around.Table is durable, the trains and pieces integrate with sets we already have and the most important part….ONE EXTREMELY HAPPY 2.5 YO BOY!!

You won’t – but your kid might be wow’d
Pieces are shocking fragile and cheaply made for a young kid toy. Chipping paint, tracks are loose and give, train barely align on the track they came with. Train doesn’t fit under the mountain unless you giggle the whole track because it shifts during play. Mountain top pops off half the time. I was border line between “Don’t like it” and “Its Okay”. The only reason I gave it a higher rating is my son does and has been enjoying it for now…However FedEx destroyed the unit and pieces are broken/missing so depending on what happens with that – I may end up returning and buying one from Plan Toys. **SIGNIFICANT** Quality difference. In-Laws bought 3 smaller sets of Plan Toy line (Airport, Bus Station and Parking Garage) the accessories have substance, wheels are made of rubber and the toys roll without catching. When we’re over there he plays with less frustration with that brand. But there is a decent price difference, and will prolly lose the table due to my budget. So there’s a catch – however if I get the $90 Plan Toy set and a $80 random toy table I’ll be in better shape. Depends on your goals, lots to do or better quality. If I do end up keeping, I’m throwing all the pieces away and replacing with Thomas because you’re kid will lose interest because the ones that come with just don’t work. I’ve already hidden most of the piece and replaced with 4 Thomas’s he already had. Even I find it difficult to move the train around the track – you can’t push you MUST pull the train otherwise it will bind and all fall off. Imagine giving a kid a yo-yo that dose come back up.After writing all the reasons I don’t like this or regret the purchase I’m leaning towards “Don’t Like” however if we keep it I’ll try and remember to update. But ask questions I’m a frequent sahcreatives shopper so I’ll answer any specifics you have.

Reasonably sturdy, feature-rich train table — may be good for speech therapy, but does contain smallish parts
(Wife):PROS:1. When the table is fully-assembled, we’ve found that it seems sturdy enough to support a roughly 28-lb toddler with Lego DUPLO blocks and other toys and stuff on it.2. If they don’t show you pictures of this, in our set, you can flip over the two top pieces, and they are the natural wood color underneath. So, you can use the table either way. Just bear in mind that the coloration / design is just veneer, and I doubt it’s wood veneer.3. Our set came with three slide-under red storage totes for the train tracks and features. This has been great for us. There is room for some larger items that stick out of the top of one of the bins, up to a point. We have had no problems so far.4. This set also comes with a nice collection of vehicles: a train set with removable shipping containers that the crane can lift off the freight cars, a few wooden city cars that can be driven on the tracks, a boat for the water features painted on the one side of the table, an airplane and a helicopter. The set also includes a number of trees and traffic signs as well as some nice wooden people with fairly detailed features painted on them (and then varnished, I think — possibly with kid-safe paint / varnish, as we haven’t noticed any off-gassing so far).5. I think what I love most about this set is that it strikes me as a potential gold mine for language development / speech therapy — if like us, you have a late talker and are willing to use this set to play with your kid (and talk about what stuff does). There are (in my opinion) too many features to use at one time; but what we do is swap them out, and work on developing language associated with the vehicles, features, etc.NEUTRAL:1. Our two-year-old loves the waterfall feature, although the upper portion is a bit difficult to attach. We’ve kept the upper section of our waterfall loose so far — we’re taking a “wait and see” approach, partly because the upper tunnel may have mildly sharp edges. We can certainly still use the bottom portion when the top part isn’t cooperating. When the top part of the waterfall will stay put, my daughter does enjoy taking the boat that comes with this set and treating the waterfall and boat like a log flume ride. While not so practical or safe in real life, we can at least learn new words this way and in time discuss safety issues related to whitewater paddling. For now, I’d rather that she just get to learn new things and hopefully develop a sense of creativity in time.2. The elevated track supports do hold the pieces firmly; however, they hug the track so well that it is essentially impossible for me to use one of the supports to connect two elevated track pieces. The elevated supports also do not really work with curved track. Instead, I recommend the
Maxim Enterprise Inc Multi Level Support Risers, 6-Piece
(red — available here on sahcreatives). Use double-sided tape to tape short, straight track pieces to the top of the Maxim supports, and two pieces of track of any type other than specialty track joint pieces will connect fine and stay put. However, you will likely end up with a track on the floor. BUT, we find that the Maxim set does wonders to reduce our daughter’s frustration at pieces being knocked over. These supports can be stacked on top of each other for multiple layers OR stacked staggered directly on top of each other, to conserve storage space. ; ) So, that’s my recommendation on that one. As for the waterfall and the bridge: both provide appropriate supports for connecting pieces. Yay! = D3. The train is of fair quality in terms of magnets and wheel alignment on the tracks. It typically still works well enough for us, even when the wheels do not stay 100% in the track grooves. But by all means, feel free to use a better train if you would like. And remember that you can certainly use the set’s wooden vehicles on the tracks, instead of or in addition to the train. = )CONS:1. This table can arrive with some blemishes.2. The veneer on this table can be thin and end up mildly scratched or damaged from some objects, including Legos. (This table does NOT provide a Lego surface. We just use DUPLO blocks on ours along with train tracks and other toys, depending on our daughter’s wishes.)3. While this table currently supports our daughter, that’s not something we’ll want to have her test long-term. Mostly, she uses it as intended, so I’m not as concerned for us as for any family with rambunctious climbers or rough-housing-loving kids. This table has been working fine for us so far, but solid wood or even a sturdy plywood would likely be higher-quality material. In fact, I almost bought such a train table, except that our daughter fell in love with this one. For the most part, I’m glad that she did.4. This set contains some pieces that are small-ish — probably not often “choke” size, but I would recommend using discretion with young kids, just in case.5. While I think everyone understands that the table requires assembly, a couple of the toy items also do — and sometimes use small screws that should be kept away from young children. My advice is to build everything while the young ones are asleep.6. My husband says that the instructions only covered table assembly. So, you’ll probably want to pull up a picture of this table to assemble the building with the helipad, for example. The bridge is pretty straight-forward. Just be sure to find the long piece with wood attached underneath at each end that has the matching drill hole marks for screwing in the plastic bridge pieces. (The plastic bridge sides also attach via plastic dowel-style rods to help stabilize the bridge sides.)7. Some of the wooden track pieces fit together kinda tightly. Overall, they do seem to be pretty good quality, with peg male connectors just for the specialty pieces, I think. So anyway, I think that about does it.

One of the Best Purchases We’ve Made for Our Twins!
We purchased this train table for our three-year-old son for Christmas because, like all little boys, he loves trains and cars. We searched on here for something he could use for a long time and thought this would be worth purchasing since he’s a very busy boy and there are quite a few activities to do with this table alone. When he opened this table set and my husband started putting it together, our son could barely contain his excitement! He absolutely couldn’t wait to get his little hands on this set and it’s a good thing my husband is very handy and was able to put the table and all of the little pieces and structures together within a couple hours so our son could start playing with it right away. This set comes with a lot of pieces and I’ve included a couple pictures of the table so you can see what it looks like. The table itself measures 48 3/4″ by 32 1/2″ by 15″ and is made out of sturdy wood. The board included is two pieces and has colorful pictures of grass, rocks, roads, and water. It comes with a lot of wooden track pieces and some are arched so the track isn’t just flat. This set also comes with a helipad, helicopter, small airport runway that consists of four puzzle pieces, a plane, a plastic mountain with a waterfall, a bridge, a turntable that really works, a crane, and small wooden pieces made to look like a hospital, police station, fire station, and gas station. The hospital, police station, fire station, and gas station are small pieces of wood painted to look like the buildings rather than actual three-dimensional buildings. This set also comes with little wooden people, wooden trees, street signs, a boat, and a couple cars and trains. It does not come with many trains though so you will probably want to purchase some. We bought
Orbrium Toys 12 Pcs Wooden Engines & Train Cars Collection Compatible with Thomas Wooden Railway, Brio, Chuggington
which work perfectly with this set. We also have a number of the Thomas and Friends wooden trains such as
Fisher-Price Thomas the Train Wooden Railway Thomas
and
Fisher-Price Thomas the Train Wooden Railway James Engine
which are compatible with the wooden tracks in this set. We’ve also purchased some of the trains from local stores that cost a couple dollars each and they work with this set. There are also wooden beams you put underneath the table that hold three plastic bins for storing all of these pieces. We have had this set for almost five months now and my son continues to use it every day. It’s one of his favorite toys and it has been such a good investment for us! Even his twin sister uses it and it’s a lot of fun to watch them play together with it (when they are actually getting along which is rare). My kids are both about 37 inches tall and this table is a great size for them. They can stand or sit and use it. As they get taller, they can either sit on the floor or pull up chairs to use the table. I’ve even sat down on the floor and played with the table with them so kids of all ages can definitely benefit from this table set.The only issue I’ve come across is that sometimes the tracks and roads don’t match up nicely. For instance, because of the way the track pieces are shaped they run across the roads and there aren’t a lot of configurations but, for the most part, the tracks work nicely with the pictures on the board. My twins don’t really care at this point but they may in the future and perhaps we can remove pieces of the track so it looks a bit more realistic. It works great for us right now and as long as our kids are happy, we are happy! If you have a little one who loves trains and cars, this table set will provide them HOURS of entertainment (plus it will give you a few minutes of peace and quiet, or at least no screaming)! My kids love this set and I’m glad they are able to both enjoy it. I know they will use it for years to come which is good considering the price. It is a more expensive toy but it has been extremely well-worth it for us and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. It has a lot of pieces but was fairly easy to put together and is still standing strong even after my three-year-old twins’ daily playing, which is saying something! If anything happens that changes my opinion of this product, I will update this review. I highly recommend this table set for young children because it will keep them so busy and even adults will have fun playing with their kids with it!

I really like it but not worth the price
The media could not be loaded.
Don’t get me wrong, the table is great, my son loves it. He will play for 2 hrs straight before he gets tired of it. But 180 for this ? I don’t think it’s worth that price. Maybe 120-150? Plus came missing with one piece and I had to zoom in to the picture to connect the tracks exactly

Stay at home play at home 2020
Circumstances beyond everyones control this year resulted in us staying at home and playing at home, which led us to the purchase of this train set. With the craziness of all the 2020 restrictions this year, many businesses made adjustments to avoid the spread of Covid-19. Our local public library had this same table top train set for years but took it away due to Covid-19 after they opened back up. We decided the kids loved it and missed it enough that we bought one for our home. The train set is overall fun for the kids and they tinker with it for hours. There are lots and lots of little pieces to play with. I would say for the price it is worth the purchase, but the trains are fairly basic. We bought more trains on sahcreatives that are better and are of the Thomas the Train theme. The assembly overall took all day, with the table fairly easy to put together and follow, but the the assembly of the tracks was generalized in one diagram and confusing to try to put it all together. You’ll need a medium screwdriver to assemble the table, and then a small screwdriver for some of the buildings. The diagram for the tracks didn’t actually align with the layout, but we figured it out. Also, the tracks need to go a specific way when linking them. You may find that you’ve installed some of them backwards if the tracks meet on the same male or female ends. You’ll need to turn around or flip most all of the tracks if that happens. I’ve attached photos of how we set it up for helping put yours together. The framework of the table is very light, and can be taken apart down to the legs and table frame and moved easily if need be. One slick bonus we didn’t realize before buying is you can remove everything off the top and flip the boards over to make a pretty basic large table to play board games and build puzzles on. We would definitely buy again but you may want to get some better trains for it like we did (sahcreatives will recommend several trains when you add this to your shopping cart).

Very Sturdy, Easy to Put Together and a Nice Train Set
Many of the reviews listed under this item have got to be for the wrong set. So many of them clearly don’t apply to it. This does come in natural, not honey as one reviewer stated. It is very sturdy and screws together with very long, very fat screws that screw into a metal cap to keep them in place. The screws even have the outside 1/3 painted the same color as the table to make them blend in nicely. All the edges are nicely rounded. At first I was put off by the three cheesy looking plastic bins that came with the table. I had specifically emailed the seller and asked if it came with the trundle drawers and was told yes. I was expecting the large wooden drawers. However, these plastic bins hang on rods under the table, keeping them off the floor and out of the way. They also leave enough room for my son’s wooden Thomas train caddy under the table as well. I’ve decided they are better than the wood drawers, although I wouldn’t have chosen them. The train set is really amazing and more than I expected. It is much higher quality than the Melissa & Doug set I purchased. It put together easily and the elevated bits are well-designed to keep the tracks together instead of falling apart like the M&D and Thomas ones do. The supports for the elevated track keep the tracks together, and the bridges have a small platform at their edges to hold the adjacent track up. The elevations are really smooth–my son loves giving the train a push and having it roll down the elevation and a bit more on the flat track. My two issues with the tracks are:1) It doesn’t match the printed landscape on the table. I found it impossible to not have tracks going into water and over the road. I also couldn’t get the road crossing piece to match up with the road. I wound up turning over the boards and using the plain side instead.2) The waterfall bottom tunnel opening doesn’t line up well with the track. Thomas trains are too big to go through this tunnel without getting stuck because the track is too close to the left edge of the tunnel on one side and the right edge on the other side. I’m considering gluing something to the bottom of the waterfall to raise it a bit and give more room for the trains. In the set’s defense, the included trains are significantly smaller than Thomas trains and probably fit through without a problem. The top tunnel in the waterfall works perfectly with Thomas trains. The variety of extra pieces is mind-boggling. You get cars, trucks, a steam-roller, an airport with helipad, a helicopter, an airplane, a runway, a crane with girders that can be hooked and un-hooked, one-dimensional police station, fire station and hospital, a boat, trees, people and lots of signs.I know I’m reviewing the right product because I bought it from this very page. Be wary of reviews saying this isn’t sturdy or has available wooden trundle drawers as they are the wrong product.

Great train table with storage bins
I removed a star right of the bat, because sahcreatives delivered my package 2 blocks away to the wrong address. Luckily for me it was to an honest person house. Well actually they didn’t know the table was there, the person brought an envelope with a book, and being that I knew both was delivered together, I ask to tag along to look for my table. Luckily I drove, because the box was big and heavy.Anyway my brother build the table with no complaints. So I can’t speak on how time consuming it was or wasn’t.The table as I realized right of the gate, my 2 year old was using his bubble gun and spray bubble solution on table and it started to peel. So water or liquid is a no good. Also it’s a strong table to hold a 45 pounds 2 year old sitting on it.The storage holder on the bottom wish the wood was not so flexible because he has alot of extra tracks and train etc..and the 3 storage containers filled..the wood below to hold will break..I have to box box below the containers to hold the weight up to lightened the load for the flexi wood.I read a review that the table colors will fade and peel, which I notice from it chipped and how she uses finishing gloss or something to spray to keep color ..so I did that also..only thing is I had the table and tracks up already so had to remove everything to do..I will have to retouched it again also..My son definitely plays with this table every single day since he received it..and that was a few months ago,the ending of ,May 2020. I got this table for 139$ deal!! Because now August 8 , 2020 it’s selling for 189$😁😩 so lucky me unless someone else gotten their for cheaper.Definitely a great buy for children that loves VEHICLES ALL TYPES AND TRAIN LIKE MY 2.5 YEAR OLD BABY.

Great deal
I had this on a list for a while and a few days ago noticed it was on sale for 45% off. To beat that, there was also a warehouse item available for 60% off. At the orignal price, I was willing to say we didn’t need it as we’re already cramped for space in our narrow townhouse. But at the discounted price, even my husband was like “heck yeah!” So this is like an early Christmas gift for our 2.5 year old boy. He always gravitates towards the train sets at other people’s houses so this was a win. He is already using the pieces for imaginative play and adding his other toys to the mix.Assembly was super easy. There’s only 8 pieces to the table plus 3 plastic bins. Less then 30 min with two of us. The train set assembly took another 30. Its really eaten up a lot of floor room so be prepared to sacrafice some space for it if your real estate is scarce. There were some very minor cosmetic flaws to our table but once assembled, you don’t even notice it. Alsoone minor section that was pre-screwed and glued on to support the surface was cracked during assembly from over-tightening of screws, but it didn’t effect the overall integrity so we gave that a pass. The surface is flippable- from picture to plain wood laminate surface. I can see this being an excellent lego or hobby table when he outgrows the train. Our public library has a similar table (smaller) and they used a protective plexiglass to cover the surface.Yes- like some other reviewers have commented- the wood toy structures need to be assembled and some fit rather loose. However a little wood glue will take care of the issue. My boy also requested I add sirens and a star logo to the police car and firetruck which I happily obliged with some adhesive paper. Overall, The quality is as expected and we are satisfied. Its no Pottery Barn, but if you are looking for quality, I think you should be looking at a train set sold separately from table. I should point out that my son is fairly gentle with his toys and I absolutely do not allow table climbing in the house. While the table is fairly sturdy for what its meant for, I wouldn’t trust it to hold up a child jumping or standing on it.I’ve bought a few sahcreatives warehouse deals now, and honestly if you are just buying for yourself, it really is worth taking a chance on. Most of the time it is just the outer packaging that has been damaged.

Great Table, Ok train set
Pros:My 18 month old plays with his train for at least a few hours a day. He LOVES trains, and really enjoys this one. He likes to put the box cars together (good small motor actions), and they are age appropriate for him. He likes to make a long train, and push them up and down the hills, across the bridge (a challenge) and through the tunnels (also a challenge). He still can’t do some things (eg, use the crane/hook stuff to it), but eventually he will be able to). The helicopter and airplane, and the ambulance and firetruck and police car, are also a big hit, and he takes these all over the house. The table is great and seems very durable (love the rounded corners), and was a snap to put together. I literally did it 4 days after coming home from the hospital with my newborn (after a c section). It took me about 30 minutes. It was really that easy. It would probably take a non recovering from surgery person 15 mins. Basically 16 or so screws. (My husband put the heavy-ish top on it, but I did the rest).I chose this table because of the elevated baskets. We have a very thick rug, and I thought it would be a huge pain to have to pull out trundles on the rug. These baskets hang from the table. Hence they will work even with thick rugs.Cons:The tracks are pretty annoying. We have set up both configurations, and it seems that there are sharp turns after every down hill. There is basically no way for the train to stay on the track. Sometimes my kid finds this hysterical (BOOM!!). Other times it makes him incredibly frustrated (and ends up throwing the pieces/taking the tracks apart, very annoying). Not sure if any train sets are better in terms of this, as this is the only one we have… Also, the tunnel clearance is bad. It is very difficult to get a train through the lower tunnel, and only slightly easier to get one through the upper tunnel. Not a big deal, but wish it came in white! The cons being said, for a train table that’s great, and a train set, it’s definitely worth the price! We purchased on sahcreatives and it came like all of our sahcreatives purchases do: incredibly fast, no issues whatsoever.

Sturdy is a must!
Sturdy enough for my 5 year old to jump on top of this and play a reenactment of Godzilla terrorizing a small community. I would recommended.

Large table – a few issues
Overall I think I like this table. I dont think this is a long term item. It’s larger than I was expecting but that’s my fault for not checking the measurements closely. I assembled it myself in about 20 minutes. I did have one screw hole that was already split out and gave me a bit of trouble but it still worked and I secured it a little more with a zip tie.The supports for the red bins do not have veneer on their edges which I think was an odd choice and adds to the cheap look.Their attempt at including people of color is pretty sad. Mostly white, one yellow and one grey. There is absolutely nothing substantial here, it’s all pressed paper. And the top is already showing signs of wear straight out of the box. Seriously, my kids haven’t even seen this thing yet. I will not be surprised at all if we end up making a new top for it after this one gets destroyed. The trains and toys included are decent but they are definitely not as good of quality as any of the other trains we have. The tracks seem pretty on par with what I was expecting. However, I got a good deal on it so I’m ok with the choice I made. I think my kids are going to love it.If this was helpful, please hit the button

Strudy table with some great wooden pieces but some poorly made plastic pieces
This train table is quite large and comes with a ton of pieces. I put it together by myself in an hour and a half with my husband holding the side pieces in place while I screwed them together. The table itself is quite easy to put together. The train track took me as long to assemble as the entire table took. The table top piece – with the picture on it is actually 2 pieces, which I could not tell from the picture in the description. You can see the line between the two pieces but it is not distracting. The train track, 4 piece train, buildings, people, and extra cars are mostly made of wood. The mountain and the signs are all made from cheap plastic – the mountain is in two pieces and comes apart quite often. The plastic signs are no better than the little army men sets you can get at the dollar store so I was pretty disappointed in them and the mountain. The bridge requires 8 screws and one of the holes was completely misaligned – a little issue but it is annoying when you combine that with the cheap plastic pieces. The train track is well constructed and the track layout offers a lot of fun for my 2 year old and 8 year old. They can use their wooden Thomas and their wooden generic trains from other stores. You can use Thomas Take-a-Long but they are slightly more narrow so they do not completely fit on the track but neither of my kids mind. There are three plastic bins that slide on ledges under the train table. I love this feature since I can store all of the extra trains and Take-a-Long track in these bins – a one-stop shop for the trains!! Overall, I am happy with this purchase and I feel that the table itself is very sturdy and the track is of a good quality but some of the pieces are cheaply made. I would rather have had fewer accessories and a better made mountain.

Valued set. Great way to start for trains lover
This purchase is a valued package considering it’s very expensive to buy the table alone this size. Basically, I feel like I’m paying same price for the table and get the train set for free. The table is well-made. Easy to put together. It took my husband only 10 mins to finish assembly the table. It’s much easier to play trains/tracks on this table, it keeps tracks from falling off. The heigh is perfect for my son. It has nice 3 buckets for storage hanging under the table. It’s very neat way to store tracks actually. However, please do not store more than this set under the table otherwise, you might risk breaking the 2 wood piece railing that used to hang the bucket. I was actually excited about this storage places, so I put some more track that I have previously, and I noticed the wood piece was bended mildly, so i took them off and just put them on the floor under the table instead of hanging it.The trains set have tons of stuff for your kids to play with which is a major points. If you only want 1 set for your kid, it’s a go-to set. They have trains, cars, airplane, helicopter, Brigde, tunnel, turn table. Everything out there in 1 box. I definitely love the variety of this set. I would give 5 stars for this if not for my next point. The tracks are not very well made, it’s harder to click together vs Brio or Hape or Melissa tracks which is a minus for me because my son -19mo can’t put it together himself. The joint elevator is very hard to put together as well. But it’s not that hard for adult, so they still get 4 stars from me :)While they have a lot of transportation options which my son loves, they are not very well-made. I feel like I bought a used set when I purchased a brand new one. The paint is not as shiny, it looks like wear and tear.If you want to see how it is in real life experience, you can go to Youtube and search for “Michael Choo Choo Trains KidKraft Waterfall Mountain Train Set”.

Good product, but…
The storage bins are pointless, the angle the bins are makes it where it can only hold a few items… And the tables surface should’ve been made with some form of laminate/ plastic or protective cover because it’s been less than a month and my son has already ruined the surface with liquid….. Other than that the assembly was easy and it’s a really nice piece for a toddler’s room. He enjoys using the table top to play with his other toys as well

Clear directions on how to put together
I don’t usually take time to write a review but this seemed like a daunting project for me to assemble for my grandson for Christmas but I wanted to try. I was relieved to see such clear instructions, helpful illustrations, and organized packaging. I’m very pleased with how it turned out. It could have been one frustrating colossal mess but it wasn’t. It took me almost 4 hours to get it done but I am a grandma who isn’t that savvy putting things together. I can’t wait to see his reaction when he sees it all ready and waiting for him to play with. It is compatible with his Dad’s Brio trains from when he was little, too.

KidKraft one of the best toymakers around – great train table!
After reading reviews and comparisons for MONTHS finally decided on this KidKraft Waterfall Mountain Train Set as my son’s Christmas present. Pros: Great looking table with wood look (unlike a lot of the bright blue Thomas tables etc.); top can be turned over so it is just wood look and used for other activities later on; great height for my 22 month old; cool features with helicopter, cars, opening gate, etc.; crane; under table drawers which hold everything; nice assortment of well made tracks.Negatives: The waterfall tunnel is a bit hard to navigate – and my son often just takes it off (plus the trains derail and get stuck in opening) – but true of most tunnels out there. The trains with this set aren’t the same standard as some of the Thomas and Brios out there (they should have put a magnet at BOTH ends which would have helped with the kid’s enjoyment). The red bridge is just a little too narrow sometimes (especially with trains carrying “people”) – but can be modified to be wider with shims. The MOST IMPORTANT POSITIVE for this table set is that the company “KidKraft” is the best one I’ve ever encountered. Before purchasing this, I contacted them several times to ask for details on their sets. Not only does an actual, real person answer the phone after a couple of rings – but all of them are incredibly nice and knowledgeable. If there is ANYTHING wrong with your item (mine was damaged by UPS a bit) they send out whatever replacements you need, no questions, no hassles, and you receive these expertly packed new pieces within just a couple of days! I think they spent more money on mailing things out to me than I wound up paying for the train set. (This was true of a kitchen set I bought from them too). They are a true stand-up, customer friendly company that apparently take pride in their jobs. That alone has one my business. My son LOVES his train table. Buy some extra trains, Suretrack, sticky-tack, and whatever bells and whistles from other sets to go with it – but overall it is truly worth the money. Thank you KidKraft!
