Some kids I’m sure would be super delicate with it
I’m rating this as average because it just didn’t last in our house. Now, with three kids and kind of rough handling, I can understand getting banged up. But this house was just not designed for our kids. It was a gift, so unfortunately we couldn’t return it, but I knew as soon as we opened it (they’d assembled it for us) that it would only last a couple months (the same as the previous, plastic one from a birthday). The roof is now gone (the green parts aren’t broken but the slide position that holds them in, is), the middle support of the roof is broken, and the patio is probably days away from collapse. Again, I reiterate that these are all because of my children. Some kids I’m sure would be super delicate with it, and it would last forever. But how tempting is it to use the patio as a stool for an 18-month-old? Very. Especially when the best location for it is in front of a window. We just need something more sturdy (their cousins have a Plan Toys My First Dollhouse which seems promising). Let’s hope we find it.

Perfect for a 1 yr old ( minus the small parts).
My daughter received this dollhouse as a 1st birthday present. Perfect size for a 1 yr old. I took the smaller parts and put up and replaced the people with animals that were larger. She played with it for over an hour this morning. I am very pleased and this will now be our birthday gift that we give to our friends!!! Love it.

Ein wirklich wunderschönes Puppenhaus! Hape überzeugt mal wieder mit Qualität.Ich habe mich für dieses Modell entschieden, weil ich Hape für Qualitativ hochwertiges Holzspielzeug schätze und weil ich zunächst ein kleineres haben wollte, um zu schauen ob es den Kindern zusagt oder nicht.Sehr stabiel und relativ leicht aufzubauen ist es.Das Haus ist komplett aus teilweise lackiertem Holz, sehr hochwertig!Die Farben sind sehr gut, gleichmäßig und robust. Trotz einigen bespielens reibt sich nirgends etwas ab.Praktisch ist auch der Tragegriff, der im Dach integriert ist. So lässt es sich leicht und schnell auch mit einer Hand umstellen.Auch die Möbel und Puppen sind dabei und von sehr guter Qualität. Die Kleidung und Haare der Puppen sind klasse, gut vernäht/ verklebt.Etwas schade ist, dass die Puppen nicht umgezogen werden können, aber das wäre nur ein kleines Extra, kein Minuspunkt.Warum dann 2 Punkte Abzug?Ganz einfach: Weil die Zusammenstellung in meinen Augen nicht durchdacht ist!Es sind 3 Puppen, aber nur 2 Schlafgelegenheiten und 2 Stühle….. Einer bleibt immer außen vor. Wo soll das arme Kind schlafen, wenn Mama und Papa zu Bett gehen? Und wer darf nicht mit essen, wenn es nur 2 Stühle am Esstisch gibt?Und das stört meine Kinder derart, dass sie sehr selten damit gespielt haben. Ich habe nun selber noch ein Bett und einen Stuhl gebaut, und siehe da, es wird gespielt. (um eine komplette zusätzliche Einrichtung, z.B. “Kinderzimmer” zu kaufen ist leider kein rechter Platz mehr im Haus…)Da das Puppenhaus nicht gerade eines der günstigsten ist, finde ich man hätte mehr über die Bespielbarkeit nachdenken müssen… Also, Punktabzug.

Wunderschönes und stabiles Puppenhaus
Wir haben dieses Puppenhaus für Hape zum 2. Geburtstag meiner Tochter gekauft und es ist ein großer Erfolg. Man kann das Puppenhaus einfach zusammenbauen und es ist wirklich sehr stabil. Ausschlaggebend für den Kauf dieses Puppenhauses war nicht nur die Qualität, sondern auch die Farbstellung: es ist kein (Alp)Traum in Rosa, sondern überzeugt mit frischen knalligen Farben, so dass mein älterer Sohn auch gerne damit spielt und sich damit identifizieren kann. Ich kann dieses Produkt wirklich nur empfehlen!

Very cute. Pretty easy to put together. I sprung for this for my daughter’s first doll house because of the reviews of similar items sites flaws and questionable quality. I should have saved the $10-15 and purchased the “knock off”. The quality/condition of this doll house is borderline “used”.I can’t return it. I am using it for a “Paci Fairy” present and put it together after I finally got my daughter to sleep without a pacifier. So this is kind of disappointment. She certainly won’t notice, but my pocket book does. The ONLY thing I am pleased with is the detail and quality of the family included.

I like the product overall
I like the product overall. but two of the (larger) baseboards for the home arrived bent and cannot fit properly into their respective slots. I was able to assemble the home but worry that at anytime it can pop out, and therefore, will be requesting an exchange.

I found it to be a great value, given the wood construction
Purchased this as a birthday gift for a 3 year old girl and she loves playing with it. I found it to be a great value, given the wood construction, quality, and inclusion of essential furnishings. There are other cute Hape rooms and people that can be added on later if you want. I will definitely buy another one for my own son when he is old enough to enjoy it!

Not up to Harpe company standards in my opinion!
Some of the wood the corner beams were made out of was more like balsa wood & slit easily when screwed together. Disappointing since I have bought other Harpe wood toys for same granddaughter & the quality was excellent on those toys!

This dollhouse is great quality and adorable. The people are bendable and fit very well in all of the furniture and chairs. A few wood pieces had a couple flaws but nothing major or detrimental. The house needs assembly but it does not take very long to put together.

The perfect first dollhouse
This is a wonderful first dollhouse for a 3 or 4 year old. It’s pretty small but not small enough that it is not entertaining and fun for kids. It’s nice that it’s not plastic either, it’s a beautiful wood house with nice bright colors. A great bonus that it comes with a set of dolls and furniture.

What a fantastic first dollhouse for my daughter! we have had this for two years, and have not had a single issue until recently. The legs on the chair broke off but my husband was able to glue it back together. Great little addition to my daughters room.

Wonderful, but with major quality flaws
Was looking for a quality wood dollhouse that wasn’t too large, and this showed up after a lot of searching. I already had the large 3-story Hape house for one daughter, but wanted something smaller for my younger daughter, because big houses take up lots of space and need so much furniture! This one is the ideal size and comes with enough furniture to get started plus three dolls. Perfect, right?Well, now I know why this was discontinued, is available only as a closeout from a third party seller, and isn’t even listed on Hape’s website: something went terribly wrong in production. There were multiple flaws in the manufacturing, including a screw hole that was entirely missing, and another one that was very off-center, meaning I had to take out my drill to allow me to build this. Also, there was a minor error in the instructions: the J1 and J2 crossbeams that hold the staircase were swapped.Once I drilled the holes, I was able to get the dollhouse together, and it is wonderful. If it weren’t for those issues, it would be perfect. At the closeout price, which includes at least $30 in furniture and dolls, it’s still worth it if you are willing to troubleshoot the assembly!

It’s Nice But…
First off, I didn’t realize this dollhouse came unassembled, so that was kind of a red flag on quality. It was easy to put together but one of the roof panels and porch railings wiggle and will not attach tightly. I also assumed the stairs would stop swiveling once tightened in place but they don’t. This might cause frustration…. but luckily my son is a huge Harry Potter fan and doesn’t mind a good moving staircase. The handle is nice but you need to carry it with both hands to keep it from tipping and having all the furniture and dolls slide out because the handle is not centered. No big deal though. The dolls are frustrating trying to make them stand but they bend and sit in a chair well. I purchased a Melissa and Doug Family to go along with this and they stand much better but don’t sit as well. The oven, potty and bathroom vanity actually open and close which is cool. Love the gender neutral colors of the house. Silly that the house comes with three people but only two chairs. I purchased the patio set to help accommodate more dolls. We got the cute pet set too and are hoping for the car soon. Overall this is a nice toy. A little overpriced but my son hasn’t stopped playing with it. He loves it.

Good Value & Quality
I wanted a small, high quality, wooden doll house (with accessories) for my daughter that was also under one hundred dollars.PROS: The fact that it isn’t pink. High quality paint. Durable construction: my 29# daughter stood on the terrace and it held up just fine. The stairs swivel so that you can move them into different configurations.CONS: I didn’t even think about this when purchasing, but the handle is offset (located on the roof), making it lopsided when carrying. I don’t think my daughter will be moving this around much, so not really an issue for us, but worth noting.Reason for taking off a star: Assembly was a bit frustrating due to warped floor boards not lining up with grooves in frame – they finally went into place after I put some elbow grease into it. Also, once assembled it wobbles a bit on flat surfaces.Other thoughts: It took me about an hour to assemble, though I did it after bedtime and probably could have been faster if I had done it when I was rested. The dolls included are Dad, Mom, and little girl. I purchased the Calico Critters cat family and the Plan Toys Vegetable Garden for the terrace

Gotta love Hape… even with a plastic tub?!?
I love Hape products. This is our second Hape dollhouse. I love the sturdy wooden construction and the bright (yet not garish) colors. They are a bit pricey for me, so I wait and watch until I can get them for a more reasonable price (otherwise I don’t think I could justify the purchase). This dollhouse I got for $56. They are a bit of a bear to put together since the pieces don’t come out of a mold (unlike plastic), but that’s my husband’s job and he’s extremely patient.I was a tad disappointed in this one, however, because they sent me a plastic tub instead of the one shown in the picture (which would have matched the other tub we have). It’s sturdy and not horrible, but I’m buying wooden toys for a reason and I want all the pieces to match… hence TWO Hape dollhouses. For the price and the quality, I wouldn’t expect these kinds of shenanigans. I’ll be contacting the company. If I can get a new tub, the one I PURCHASED, I’ll raise my rating!

Easy to assemble, but wish there was an option to pick the doll family’s skin color.
I purchased this dollhouse for my daughter. It was relatively easy to assemble, even with one error in the instructions that required me to switch two beams. The box says it’s appropriate for ages 3 and up, but I’d recommend not allowing younger children in that age range to play with the mini pots and pans. Definite choking hazard. But anyway the main issue I have with this brand, and this particular doll set, is that the default doll family is white. I had to purchase another set of dolls with brown skin, making the true price of this set a little more expensive. It would be a nice option to be able to select the skin color of the default dolls that come with the house.

Hape Happy Villa Kid’s Wooden Doll House Set is very well made and great value!!
Our three year old granddaughter absolutely loves her first dollhouse!! It is so well made and the included accessories (the family, furniture, etc.) are also very well made and easy for little hands to hold and maneuver. We also purchased the pet family (includes dog with doghouse, dog dish and bone, cat with bed, dish and fish and bunny with hutch, dish and carrot. She loves those too!
